Clayton is great. He spent time with us going over our options, appreciate his patience and knowledge. Did a great job on the install of a new AV unit in our travel trailer. He spent more time with us helping to learn the new system. We recommend Clayton and Mobile Excitement. Previously we had taken our truck to him for some help. Another company in Chico had installed a new system with back up camera in our truck but we constantly had problems with it. The sound controls on the steering wheel stopped working after the install. We took it back a couple of times not luck. Just picked up my car and the stereo sounds awesome. I told the salesman what I was looking for and he showed me a couple of choices. No hard sell tactics. They had everything in stock except for the special dash kit. They had to search to find one because of the COVID-19 shutdown. They found one in a reasonable time and completed the install. I was having trouble with my cheap pieced together system, Clayton took my truck right in fixed the issue and then cleaned up the entire install, hiding the wires correctly and hiding the amp. Then hey tuned the amp and deck for optimal sound. My old work truck never looked or sounded so good when I got it back. And the best thing is his prices are crazy reasonable. On a Tuesday I went to Mobile Excitement Car Stereo to see what it would cost to replace my stock stereo in my Toyota Scion. I told them I was going on a road trip and if they could fit me in at all and they asked me if 'tomorrow morning was good.' Emphatically I said, 'YES!' The following morning I brought my car to the shop 5 minutes before they were open and Clayton was already there working on another installation. Once he was done he brought my car in the bay and replaced my stock stereo with a new one in less than 2 hours. I could not believe it. When he told me it was ready, we walked out to the car together so he could teach me how to operate the upgraded device. He showed me how to pair new phones so I could listen to music via Spotify while driving, and he showed me where the microphone was in the car, and how to operate it. He also added that if later down the line I want to install a backup camera, that the new hardware is equipped for one, and to come back in if I wanted a camera installed. After reading two positive Yelp recommendations, I went out to Mobile Excitement and spent about 15 minutes looking for the shop.....during which time I asked a couple of other businesses under the same roof, and was given glowing recommendations! The next day, I explained to Clayton what I wanted installed and described my RV, and he quoted me a price for the stereo, the Sirius XM satellite unit, and the installation of each of these. The next week, we left the RV with him, and the work was done promptly and expertly....it looks like it has been there since the vehicle left the factory. Furthermore, Clayton did not put the satellite receiver on the hood, underneath the coach's front overhang. He explained that reception would have been poor because of the shielding of the metal overhead. Instead, he ran the cable up and around the over-the-cab bed to the "roof" of the unit, and despite this extra work he honored his original estimate on installation - I was floored. After a very nice experience the first time. I contacted Clayton regarding installing a radio into a used car I had recently purchased. I left 2 messages with no reply. I went down and spoke to him in person. He was to get some info on the harness, and get back to me. That was two weeks ago. If you don't want to do a job just tell me, but please don't ignore me. GO ELSEWHERE! BAD BUSINESS! Owner, Clayton Patrick, removed two FOCAL speakers from my vehicle over three weeks ago to warranty them out. I have repeatedly asked him about the whereabouts of my speakers, and why they are taking so long to get to me, when Focal delivery is known to take 1 day for delivery. After being told numerous times by the owner that he will contact me when my speakers arrive, I took it upon myself to contact Focal directly, in suspension of a reoccurring past event, that I feel needs to be told, in order to understand my current complaint, and Clayton Patrick's ill-practices. It was last year when this past event took place, in which involved warrantying two Memphis 12" sub-woofers, where the owner had been lying to me about them being out of stock. Three months later, I had contacted Memphis directly to find out the truth of what was actually going on, and it was found out that Clayton Patrick had refused delivery of my new Memphis subs because he was too broke to afford the COD charges that he should've paid to the UPS driver. Instead of telling me this, he kept it a secret from me for months, and instead, made up a fictitious story about Memphis hiring a guy who had messed up the inventory in all of their warehouses. When I contacted Memphis and told them the story that owner, Clayton Patrick, of their authorized dealer, Mobile Excitement, had been feeding me, they told me that all of their warehouses were overstocked of the sub-woofer's that I was needing. After lodging the complaint with Memphis, they proceeded to contact the owners representative, in which this information was conveyed to me, by the Memphis representative of Mobile Excitement, from their history logs. It is because of this past history with Clayton Patrick why I took it upon myself for the second time, to contact FOCAL (AKA, ORCA,) to inquire about the delay of my Focal speakers. It wasn't to my surprise when I was told by overhead management experts of the ORCA/FOCAL branch office and warehouse in Camarillo California, that nobody has requested an RA number for defected Focal speakers in a long time. This got me enraged and I knew right then that the owner of Mobile Excitement had been lying to me yet again. The management team of FOCAL has worked hard in contacting Clayton Patrick's representative of Focal, Scott, so he would get in contact with the owner of Mobile Excitement to get this problem resolved peacefully. After speaking with Scott, the Focal representative for Mobile Excitement told me that Clayton Patrick seems to be avoiding him and remains to be unheard from. I have purchased over $10,000 of merchandise through Mobile Excitement.. Everything is backed with warranties and every time I have tried to warranty something out through this business, Clayton has caused some serious issue which has gotten a lot of people involved. After getting to know the owner of Mobile Excitement from my purchases and frequent visits to his establishment, I had found out too late that he is a perpetual liar and has lied directly to my face even when I knew for a fact that it was a direct lie. Clayton is a horrible business person that I wish I would've never gotten involved with. He has lost an honest and loyal customer for life, and believe me when I say that he will have bad publicity from anyone who I ever come in contact with. ***UPDATE 2/28/2012 Clayton Patrick called me to come and pick up my speakers. After over a month of having them at his shop, he never sent them in for warranty. Focal is ashamed to have Clayton Patrick as one of their authorized dealer's. They have agreed to deal with me directly for the remainder of my warranty. I truly hope that Clayton Patrick loses the privilege of being a Focal dealer. I also hope that more people will become aware of his behavior, and how he deals with his customers after he has taken their money. Please stay away from Mobile Excitement, because they won't give a shít about you when you come to them for help. read more
