I called this guy, and he wanted to text only, so I saved my conversation with him. Basically, I asked what approximate repair costs are because if it's $400-500, it might be worth buying a new one. He then told me to buy a new one and proceeded to say I was a waste of his time. He then started becoming belligerent and insulting. I screenshot everything. This guy seriously has issues. I called Mobile Small Engine Repair to repair my snow blower. They quoted me " The flat rate for snowblower tune-up and repair is $225 ". When David Frutos, the owner, came he told me that the auger belt was broken but he couldn't replaced it because he did not have the spare part. He charged me $125 for the diagnostic that took less than 10 mn. I agreed to order the belt and to call him for installing it thinking that it will cost me $100 to complete the repair ($225 minus $125 already paid). When I received it he said that the "Belt replacement cost is $395"!!! I was shocked. This is totally dishonest and an unacceptable practice. I do not recommend to do any business with this company. read more

Had him out to tune up our snowblower. He was here for about 10 minutes, got it started, wheeled it back into the garage. We paid him and he split. When it snowed, I tried to start the snowblower and it wouldnt start. We called him and initially he said he would come out and estimate the cost of the repair. When we called him out on that, he said it was a different text but then said he wanted another $75 trip charge to come out and fix it.. I challenged his wanting another charge to fix the snowblower that he had already fixed and we never heard from him again. read more

I needed to use my lawn mower early this week and was hoping to find a repair person who could come to my house in a day or two. David is such a person. I called him at Mobile Small Engine Repair, 720-366-8908. He answered promptly and said he could come tomorrow. He called when he was 30-40 minutes from my house and texted me when he arrived. He was careful about Covid precautions and asked that I bring my lawnmower out to my driveway. He wore a mask. David is polite and professional. He's worked in this way for 18 years. He efficiently repaired my lawnmower in 20-30 minutes and texted me that it was ready. It started easily and ran smoothly again. He has a flat rate charge of $125 for coming to your house and fixing your machine.(extra charge for parts) My lawnmower didn't require any parts. I highly recommend David and will likely call him again in a few months to tune up my snowblower! read more

Started out as a good experience, then went BAD. David fixed the issue and said we needed a part. He told me he would come back, no problem if I had any issues installing the part. He led me on for TWO WEEKS, constantly rescheduling or just not showing up. I finally filed a dispute on my card for incomplete services. A warning to anyone that does business with this dishonest person. If there is any part of your repair that is incomplete, do not pay him in full for his services. Horrible. "Fixed" our snowblower but next time when we went to run it, it had the original problem of not working. We paid David $195 for nothing. His website says he has a 90 day warranty on all his services. I find this unbelievable as he doesn't return a text or a phone call and ghosts his customers for days. When he does respond he wants to charge more money and is extremely rude. I would absolutely not recommend using his services. What a shady individual and he'll blame it likely on being too busy as I read in his other stellar reviews. No excuse for poor customer service and the lack of knowledge to actually fix equipment. DO NOT do any business with this man. 2 months ago he supposedly fixed my mower. 2 months later it doesn't work. He told me he'd be by on Wednesday between noon and 2. After no contact from him, I messaged him and he said he couldn't make it. He doesn't even have the courtesy to contact you. He said he couldn't make it until Monday (8 days after I initially contacted him and 5 days after he said he'd be by). He has one excuse after another. Dumped almost full tank of 6 year old gas on my lawn. At first I was so excited. I got a snowblower from a friend on 2/28/2021 and called Dave because he was a mobile repair man and the snow blower had 6 year old gas in it. I told Dave via text that snow blower had old gas so I would assume we would have something to haul away the old gas. He came the very next day and fixed the snow blower within an hour and charged me $125, which I thought was very reasonable for the speed and convenience. I was curious what he did with the hold gas, so I watched my porch camera footage that night which showed him look around then dump the gas on my lawn ( it was covered in snow, so I am sure he felt like I wouldn't notice for a while). I have a 5-year-old Ariens Snowblower that has been serviced at an Authorized Ariens shop since I purchased it and it never performed as good as it was shown in various video online. I told my wife that I am going to get it serviced one more time, and if it fails to perform, I was going to sell it for whatever I got and get a different one. I gave David a call and two hours later he's at my house and no more than 20 minutes later not only has he tuned up the snowblower (oil, lube and spark plug) but he determined that the pulley for the Auger belt was never adjusted correctly. I do not recommend you hire David Frutos. He responded and provided same day lawnmower tune up at a cost of $195 which I thought was high but agreed feeling he was going to do a complete job. I was wrong. David spent less then 30 minutes which I expected should have took longer. The first time I mowed after his service I noticed my mower was leaking oil. I called him immediately just to find out he was going to be out of town for a week. Really ! the busiest time of the year for someone who repairs lawnmowers. I finally did get him to come back over and look at the problem. He started it up, ran it for couple minutes and neither of us saw the oil leaking at this point. He left and I went ahead and started mowing thinking maybe the issue went away. I was wrong again. After the mower ran for more then 15 min it started to leak again. I texted him immediately, with pictures, and have not heard from him again. I have since took the mower to a shop who determine the sump/closure plate gasket blew out. This is not a part that normally should need to be replaced during the life cycle of a residential mower. It is clear to me what ever work David did caused this issue. Since then I have sent several texts to him with no response to either refund what I paid him or come replace the gasket. Today I sent him a text that I plan legal action to get what I paid him back plus the $220 I have been quoted to fix the issue. read more

He came to my house, checked the mower, and had it running with a sharp blade within an hour!!!!
