Being a wedding planner or event coordinator is not easy, you have to deal with different personalities and different people. Alana and my husband have similar approaches to things, and I am more of a type-A personality when it comes to task completion, I can admit it. Although we had a few bumps in the road, in the end, we were able to professionally find resolutions and come together to make the wedding day the most amazing day. Alana and her team are kind and caring. She has a broad range of knowledge when it comes to vendors/suppliers, contracts, and what someone can and cannot do. We were very impressed with how she remained organized and in communication with any additional vendors we hired. She made sure we were protected and that the vendors would deliver whatever was promised. She was also able to guide us on very small details like color palette, bridesmaid dresses, etc. and all those little details that we were not thinking of. She always had options if a vendor or something didn't work out in the planning process. Alana is a beautiful spirit and she loves what she does, and that is what made the difference for us. No matter what hiccups came along the way, she is passionate about what she does and because of that everything fell right into place. On the day of the wedding, the performance by her high-level team was phenomenal. They not only anticipated what was needed, they were able to troubleshoot a few things very quickly and swiftly. We greatly appreciate Alana, her team, and Chancey Charm for making our wedding day absolutely perfect. My dad said this was the most perfect wedding he has ever been to, and it was in large part due to Chancey Charm and Alana, and we could not agree more. We love you Alana & Chancey Charm, thank you for everything!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Lindsay Kennedy and LK Events. From our first phone…read morecall with Lindsay I knew she would be the perfect mix of calm, reassuring, knowledgeable and incredibly detail-oriented. We hired Lindsay to be our month-of coordinator, but in the year leading up to the wedding Lindsay went above and beyond. Discussing details of the wedding with her was like talking to a close friend. We never felt like we were just a number or just "the October 1st wedding." She was so approachable, friendly and upbeat but her guidance showed a deep knowledge and shrewd understanding of all the inner workings of the wedding industry. She never let us get confused or led astray by other vendors because she instantly understood our personalities and our vision and put our minds at ease with every conversation. All of her preparations in the months leading up to the wedding allowed her to know our wedding like it was her own so that by the time we got to the big day I completely handed over all control and decisions to her and didn't have to worry or second guess anything. We had no hesitation trusting her to flawlessly execute every detail of the wedding - and she did! I am sure she answered a million last minute questions from vendors and guests and made quick decisions on things I would have never contemplated, but I never saw or heard it (and for that I am eternally grateful). Problems that could have derailed the day became insignificant hiccups - not only because of her quick thinking and creative problem solving, but also because she was calm, composed and smiling while she fixed the issues. You cannot help but feel relaxed and taken care of when Lindsay is in charge. She allowed us to keep our anxiety levels at a minimum and enjoy our day - something that is invaluable to any bride and groom. Lindsay is unstoppable. Torrential rain, mountains of DIY decorations to transport, last minute changes and even the birth of her child couldn't slow Lindsay down. Lindsay was on maternity leave just a few weeks before our wedding but she never missed a beat. She made sure we had coverage from her business partner Windy (who was also wonderful to work with) but we didn't even need it! She had everything so well-planned in advance of her short absence and she jumped back in so seamlessly afterwards that it was as if she never left. I was lucky enough to have a team of fantastic wedding vendors, but Lindsay was by far the best of the best. If you are debating whether or not to hire a wedding planner or day-of coordinator, stop questioning it and talk to Lindsay at LK Events and Designs. You will not regret it!

Personable, professional, dependable, calm, responsive, knowledgeable, with an ability to handle any bump in the road, she understood my daughter's vision and made it happen. Emily described her wedding as perfect...the best day of her life; and her hubby Peter described it as magical...a magnificent Bon Voyage for the journey of their lives; for me, it was "a dream come true." I first learned about For Love of Love through a close friend who worked with and raved about…read moreLauren and Ellie. My partner and I followed suit and hired For Love of Love, working closely with Ellie one-on-one for 19 months to plan and execute our wedding, which took place this past May. It's quite literally taken me three months to write this because I've struggled to put into words the effect that Ellie and her diligent, detail-oriented effort and positive, calm, encouraging demeanor (not to mention the quality of her taste/ eye for aesthetics...) had on not only the stellar outcome of the event itself but on my partner and me as humans, with little knowledge of the wedding industry, planning the most expensive event of our lives from across state lines. As creatives ourselves, we came to Ellie with lots of ideas and artistic preferences, and she helped us to get organized and translate those ideas into reality by working tirelessly to connect us with local vendors (like Olivera Floral Design, Common House, Richmond Photobooth, various rental companies and more) within our budget who understood our aesthetic, which required that Ellie truly know us as a couple. Her knowledge of the industry and best practices is extensive, and her willingness to go above and beyond for her clients is evident. Additionally, the professionalism that we experienced throughout the planning process was bar none...even in the most testing and emotional of moments involving family--Ellie's patience, positivity, and resolve were unwavering. The bottom line, booking the For Love of Love team is the best money you'll spend. Ellie and her team kept us in the know and ahead of our timeline. On the big day, we were enabled to be hands-off so that we could be as present as possible. I daresay Ellie became more than a wedding planner to us--she supported and encouraged our individualism, made light out of dark, and shared in celebrating our wins. We refuse even to consider what the day would've been like without her and the team. If you're waiting for a sign to take the plunge and hire For Love of Love--it's right here, baby!

Calling Lauren a wedding planner is an incomplete characterization. Lauren is a visionary, stylist, and strategist who is able to both design events and execute the logistics and tactics flawlessly. My husband and I (and our families) worked with Lauren for about 15 months to plan our recent Richmond, VA wedding for 170 guests at an outdoor venue. The entire process was not only painless but fun. As a super type A person, I was not sure I'd find a planning partner who would meet my micromanaging expectations. But Lauren was incredibly organized from Day 1 (I appreciate a good folder structure and Google Doc). She also made planning FUN! I was never overwhelmed, never felt uncertain on where things stood, and always was sure that Lauren and I were on the page with everything - aesthetics, budget, etc. Fast forward to wedding day, and dozens of wedding guests who had recently planned their own events raved that Lauren was the best wedding planners they'd ever seen in action. It was all perfect. She felt like family by end, and we will truly miss working with her!! Work with Lauren. Your wedding (and arguably, marriage) will be better if you do.

Not the high quality pics they post…read more Coming back after my honeymoon to write my review : this place was so frustrating. The woman/owner at the front who answers the calls was clearly exceptionally talented. I do actually think HER work is the one broadcasted on social media. My maid of honor reached out via instagram with a photo of what I wanted for my wedding nails and when I got to the salon, I was excited to get started as it was the literal day before my wedding. (We DIY'd the WHOLE thing and I needed to make sure I didn't break any nails in the days before) I can't remember the name of my nail tech, but IMMEDIATELY I realized we were in a sticky situation. I tried to trust the process, showed her photos, told her I wanted a squoval French with the gold line to highlight the manicure. After I watched her MULTIPLE TIMES glue the tips on crooked, and I'm not talking like picky girl crooked, I mean DISFIGURED crooked - Once we got to the gold tip portion, I was told by the woman/owner up front "she can't work with metallics and do lines like that can you pick a different design?" In my head, I'm like, "did you not schedule this?" "Would you let me leave with my hands looking like this?" "Why don't you do it?" But she had another client and was doing anything absolutely gorgeous job on her nails while simultaneously dealing with a tough situation on the phone. I was so totally thrown off guard by this, already by the shape of my nails which definitely were very DUCK looking and the fact that we communicated with their instagram which is riddled with insane talent that I didn't know what to do. The woman up front/owner was very clearly and personally going through something on the phone that I really felt bad about and I just didn't want to ruin anyone's day so I just sucked it up and left with the absolute worst manicure of my life after so many times explaining that these were my wedding nails. My poor maid of honor got similar treatment where she got dip nails and her male manicurist put them back in white dip at the end so her nails literally looked like she played in glue. Im so frustrated. I understand people have hard days, but no one asked me any questions or seemed to care that I was getting married and chose their salon to do my nails. We had a huge wedding of 165 people and I had to show my ring to all of them - my nails will be plastered in photos for everyone to see. I tried to file them down on the sides, went to a cvs to try to fix them myself after our rehearsal dinner as I had 0 time to do anything since we were on a pretty big time crunch and my index nail on my left hand was literally pointing right. The salon itself is pretty, it seemed clean, but as far as marketing goes, I can't believe this happened to me. I paid 70 dollars and I always try to tip well, because I do want to believe the tech tried her best and that it wasn't necessarily her fault that the appointment we made was for something she couldn't do, so I tipped $20. Disappointed, sad and honestly feeling a bit robbed by them still. One week after as well, there was an odd gap of clear space between the French and the actual pinkish color that literally turned yellow on our honeymoon. Mortified to show my hands there. Now, even after I correctly took off the nails with acetone, I am left with an awful RING OF FIRE on my nail beds. this has never happened to me before and from what I hear, it means the tech was careless. The gift that keeps on giving! So now, after my wedding and getting my new and beautiful ring, I can't even get my nails done to show it off. I have to wait until these grow out. I will update the review with more pictures as they come in but here they are currently less than 1 month post appointment
