My daughter has had chronic hip and ankle pain AND shin splints from playing soccer at a competitive level in high school. We feel so lucky to have Shawnee help her over the next two months so she could play without pain. She helped manually release muscles she found tight and then taught her exercises to target specific muscles that needed strengthening to balance her all out. I made sure that my kid did the exercises consistently and the pain free outcome was amazing!!! Mobilize far exceeded my expectations. The entire process from assessment and planning to the end of the therapy were great. When I arrived at mobilize I had limited range of motion in both my neck and shoulder due to a herniated disc, and torn rotator cuff. I now have almost complete mobility, and was able to return to an active lifestyle. I was released from care earlier than expected, and was sent home with the knowledge of doing exercises that will continue to improve my performance as well as help prevent re-injury. I had sudden-onset leg pain that I was worried was coming from my back. I saw a doctor and he said it was just a hamstring cramp; I should stretch and it should go away quickly. The pain progressed and my foot was starting to go numb. I called Kelcy at Mobilize PT and she was able to get me in right away. She assessed my spine and found a bunch of rotation in my pelvis and thorax. She mobilized me and taught me what to do at home and I felt 90% better when I walked out of there! My ortho doc suggested Mobilize to rehab a knee injury. The first couple of visits were a bit different than I was expecting (I was taught upper body mechanics when it was a lower body injury) however PT Shawnee and PT Kelcy have taught me that everything effects each other. Mobilize therapy focus's on a holistic approach to treatment involving the entire body which is refreshing!The visits are about an hour long with direct hands on techniques combined with strengthening exercises. By utilizing the treatment plan specific to my needs I have experienced a drastic improvement in range of motion, strength and stability in just a few short weeks. My daily life has changed for the better. I hope to never get an injury again but if I do, I'll come to Mobilize! Shana is amazing! I spent over a year working with her to un-wind 10+ years of sports injuries. Not only is she an incredibly smart and thorough clinician, but she really has the human element of her profession dialed in as well. I found this office to be crowded, loud, and distracting. I do not know how they maintain HIPAA compliance when the room walls do not extend to the ceiling and you can hear detailed conversations about other patients and their problems.t didn't occur to me until after I left that if I could hear every word the receptionist said during my evaluation, that the people sitting just in front of her in the lobby could also hear every word I said. Further I already had most of the information shared and the questions I did have were not answered or even acknowledged. A little listening would have gone a long way toward making this a helpful and pleasant experience. Let me clarify that my intake appointment was NOT held in a private room nor was I offered one. Detailed questions about my life and background were asked. Doing exercises in an open gym space is one thing, performing a detailed intake should be private by default. Further, it was so loud I could not hear my physical therapist at times. My friend in the lobby felt very uncomfortable overhearing the entire intake of another patient opposite a partition just behind her chair. The response below is accurate that HIPAA doesn't cover the in-person privacy as a policy, because it was designed to protect medical records transmission, however ethical standards of the medical profession do speak to patient privacy on this level. I was involved in a severe bike accident in Feb, 2021 resulting in a complete dislocated left shoulder (scapula from acromioclavicular). Surgery went well and passive exercises prior to PT. then referred to PT for 8 weeks of mobility and strengthening. Shawnee was my therapist and was awesome. 2-3x/wk for 8 wks. The whole experience from initial paperwork completion to appt scheduling. I was a good patient as I performed the exercises Shawnee prescribed. It was great that she provided a summary of exercises to perform at home. She was always open to questions, videos of my exercises movement showing position changes, and generally professional, friendly, caring, and knowledgable. I was referred to P.T. Shawnee Perkins at Mobilize upon recommendation of my sister-in-law, who was a former patient of the clinic. I checked the choice with my healthcare provider, U.W. Family Medicine, and they confirmed that it was a good one. My problem was chronic, and increasing pain in my right shoulder. As best as we could tell, this was caused by a combination of poor computer use posture at my home workstation, and overexertion during home exercise. Although Shawnee was my P.T. referral, I spent all but two appointments with Emily Burghardt, who was an absolute delight to work with. My prescribed exercises were occasionally burdensome, but they provided immediately relief. Full relief, and discharge from therapy took about 6 months, but it was well worth it. Emily was great; we got to be friends, and enjoyed a lot of laughs as we worked through my exercises at my appointments. I had a very painful herniated disc and muscle spasm issue in my neck. The professionals at Mobilize were the only bright spot in a very dark and painful time. More importantly, they properly and promptly guided me toward the correct medical care, which was something my Primary care physician and even the spinal clinic at VM did not. Shawnee Perkins treated me for vestibular, neck and shoulder problems following a car crash with concussion. She was tremendously helpful. Totally disappointing experience with two of the PTs here. They had me doing exercises that were so far removed from helping my actual problem. I think lifting my ribs with two weak hands and breathing exercises is not the best way to actually help. The more experienced practitioners may be better but I have had better results at other places. read more

I felt so comfortable as soon as I walked in. I am new to PT and was very unsure of how it was going to go and results that I was going to receive. Shawnee was amazing. She really listened and was so knowledgeable about what I was trying to explain. She explained things so well and made sure that I understood. She was taking notes and making a lot of eye contact which is very important to me because I know she was listening to every word and really paying attention. She was also very excited to get me fixed up and to be working with each other until I am no longer in pain. It was so comforting to have your caregiver be as excited as you are about the results and getting to be pain free in the end.
