Ruth is amazing. She came up with an exercise routine that strengthened my muscles and eased my pain. She's great at coaching clients to improve their form. She's also extremely patient, yet she does not allow me to take the easy way out when I'm tempted to skip workouts "because I was tired after work" or "it was too hot that day." What's more, she is careful not to push patients beyond their abilities. I leave each session feeling refreshed and excited to get better. All of the receptionists are friendly and accommodating. Things that went well during my initial visits: I walked into this office with a referral from My doctor and was greeted by Zoe who very efficiently gave me all the info I needed. She set me up with PT Josh, offered registration paperwork in either digital or hard copy formats, and within a few days I had my first appointment with Josh. He was friendly, efficient, thorough--really listened to me. By the end of the session, we had a game plan. He gave me exercises to do at home and offered both hard copies and digital access. I have had a lot of physical therapy over the past 25 years. This place is so far looking superior to all the others! read more

This being my first time receiving physical therapy, I have nothing to compare GPT to, but they seem to have a nice, clean set-up. Appointments so far (3 of them) have been on time and Megan has been friendly and helpful with guidance, suggestions, explanations. I haven't seen/felt any change since the initial reason for going, and I do my daily exercises as the PT explained and encouraged. I want to share my sincere, heartfelt gratitude for all of the GPT staff and everything they have done for me. From front desk to billing to insurance, and of course physical therapy, this has been the absolute best experience I've ever had in any healthcare setting of any kind. The front desk staff is kind and friendly and works hard to accommodate everyone's schedule. You can work with them via text message or phone or email; or just walk in; so it's very convenient for everyone. Their office staff understands how to work with insurance. They were able to get far more sessions approved than I imagined possible. They didn't make any billing errors; they only ever charged what I owe. I was always informed in advance on whether insurance approved or denied coverage for a visit I worked with both Dr. Megan Kehoe, DPT and Dr. Josh Parafina, DPT for my physical therapy. And they basically saved my life. My knees haven't felt stronger in a decade; my knee pain is unbelievably better and manageable now. They also send you exercises to do at home, with clear images and descriptions to explain how to do them. I feel like their prices are very reasonable, even without insurance; so GPT is an excellent value too. Post-pregnancy I had a lot of work to do to get back to a place where I had a core and pelvic floor again. Pregnancy also caused an issue where I needed surgery on my core as well. I worked with 3 different therapists during my time here and each one was amazing. I appreciated the time they worked behind the scenes to work around and for my various sports injuries as well (these I had lost hope for when other PTs gave up on them). They made plans and worked within my limits while also pushing me to the next level. I really can't recommend them enough. My advice is to do your homework! read more

Working with Josh Parafina at GPT Greenwood Office has been a great experience for a myriad of issues I have experienced over the past 2 years. I started PT In Fall 2023 with following a fall that sprained my ankle (which had been sprained before a time or two) and impacted my knee. I worked through these issues, increasing my ankle and knee stability while improving balance through the exercise program. During that period, I also addressed a flare of lower back and hip pain which I have experienced on and off for many years and learned to manage through his recommended exercises. In Spring 2024, I developed long COVID, after my 3rd infection with COVID. My post-exertional fatigue (crashes) left me barely able to walk around the block after being moderately active for years (swimming 2x week and hour long walks on our neighborhood hill in Greenwood and hiking occasionally). My heart rate would soar to 120-140s just standing at the sink doing dishes for 10 minutes, when that usually was my heart rate after walking up our hill. My Primary Dr. referred me for PT to work on reconditioning and the clinic she offered was not covered under my insurance (Aetna), so I reached out to Josh Parafina again from GPT to see if they could help. He was honest about not having treated anyone with Long Covid symptoms before but shared how he would approach my recovery with a ground up program with very gradual steps up in reps and level of difficulty while checking in frequently on how I was doing energy level wise after doing the exercises and making sure I had moderations to fall back on and signs for when to take breaks. I saw improvement in my strength and stamina build back over the 4 months we worked together. I appreciated that he asked lots of questions about what I could and could not do at work and in my life and to target exercises to get me back to where I was and even improve beyond where I had been before long COVID. He was a great listener and was patient with me, showing me the difference between how I was doing an exercise and how he was doing it, showing which parts of my body were trying to work harder while others we dialing it in. As a person not imbued with body intelligence, it was really helpful for me to learn these really basic core, squat, lunging and lifting forms correctly which may have been glossed over in other exercise programs I have done. They do initial, interim, and final strength/mobility tests to show your progress along the way which is encouraging. I highly recommend getting into to GPT whether it is a new or reoccurring injury or issue, their staff try their best to get you in as soon as possible. I worked with Greenwood Physical Therapy over the course of eight months, and the experience was overwhelmingly positive. GPT exceeded expectations with regard to level-of-care, facility quality, technological integration, and staff professionalism/hospitality. I reluctantly reached out in early 2019 to treat gym/sports-related spine and shoulder injuries. It was my first PT experience, and I did not know what to expect. GPT's staff responded quickly, confirmed insurance coverage, and scheduled my first appointment with therapist Jasmine Patterson based on my injuries and availability. Jasmine impressed me as knowledgeable, responsive, and empathetic at first blush, and she consistently surpassed my impressions over months of treatment. The injuries were painful and frustrating at times, but Jasmine consistently delivered high-level care with a pleasant and professional bedside manner. Her talent and professionalism helped transform a a irritating injury into a positive developmental/growth experience. My treatment included evaluation of multiple conditions, encouraging exercise coaching, integration of technology/equipment, and referrals to an excellent surgeon and personal trainer. A few specific things Jasmine provided above-and-beyond my expectations were designing and customizing home workout plans through a convenient PT/exercise phone application (I had a lot of preferences and asks), creating in-office custom video clips beyond the app's exercise bank, taking range-of-motion videos on my phone to track my PT progress, and encouraging me to remain consistent with strength and conditioning training as my injury treatment wound down. After a nasty fall, high inflammation around my ankle / tendon sheath and wearing a boot for three weeks- I scheduled an appointment with GPT. I picked them based on reviews, coverage under Aetna( insurance) , proximity and ease if parking. I really lucked out getting Becky Helton for my first appointment. The first appointment is always an initial evaluation with some exercises to start off. Becky was a great listener, asked probing questions to understand nature of the fall, the doctors instructions and also form an opinion based on examining my feet, measuring the range of motion and strength. She asked about my goals for my PT sessions and walked me through some daily exercises to try at home. After my appointment, I received the link to their app and a list of exercise videos that matched the ones we did in the clinic. I was able to log my exercises and also liked the app as it had a timer telling you how long to hold a stretch and videos. Highly recommend! read more

I saw Katie for a period of about 7 months to help me deal with a myriad of chronic pain issues. She was able to help me address individual areas of pain and build strength and stability, as well as understand the ways these areas relate to each other and generally increase my understanding of my own body. With her knowledge and adaptability we were able to handle both acute pain and long term issues, and improve my body's general capabilities. I've been going to GPT for awhile now. I worked with Jasmine both before and after ankle surgery. I can't say enough good things about her!! Surgery was scary for me and I literally would not have made it through without her support and guidance. I even showed up crying one day and she sat with me and listened to what was going on with my foot pain that week. She ended up fixing it because the pain went away the next day! I'm now six months out, "graduated" PT, and cleared by my doc to do all activity. Back to normal and feeling great! The facility is clean. The front desk staff is welcoming and accommodating. Plain and simple, working with Megan at Greenwood Physical Therapy changed my life. Before I worked with Megan, I had no idea how to do any kind of exercises, but she gently and patiently helped me learn. Megan is clear, encouraging, extremely knowledgeable, reassuring and optimistic. She gives instruction in a way that is understandable and she adjusted or modified exercises to fit my abilities, then very gradually worked up levels of intensity as I began to gain in strength and range of motion. I first saw her for vertigo, and between her maneuvers and the home exercises, it cleared it up quickly. I was subsequently diagnosed with tennis elbow and frozen shoulder. Those conditions required much more extensive treatment, and Megan worked diligently with me to both relieve the pain and resolve the problem. I can't give her enough praise. The front office staff are terrific and the overall office environment is calm and supportive. There is no problem with parking, billing or appointment reminders - everything at Greenwood Physical Therapy is just terrific. I've had eight sessions thus far at Greenwood Physical Therapy since January 2014 to help with flexibility and scar tissue issues after major surgery last October. I found them, not through word of mouth recommendation, but actually through Google. I've had PT in the past from other places through UW Medical Center-Roosevelt, UW Sports Medicine, and Pacific Medical Center-Northgate, but definitely you are in good hands with Greenwood Physical Therapy from their director, reception staff, and the rest of their professional staff. They also made the initial process dealing with paperwork and my new insurance company straightforward. My initial email exchanges with their director put me in contact with Jasmine P. who has given me much improved physical well being through treatments with lymphatic drainage (Vodder technique), exercises to do onsite and at home, and just started with ASTYM treatments. I am seeing definite results and enjoy working with her. I don't expect to be 100% after surgery, but I am glad to know that the quality in my daily activities are dramatic and measurable. There's no dreading the weekly appointments with Jasmine P., no lecturing or judgments made, just a highly qualified professional who strives to get you to a better place. No hyperbole. If there was a way to give them six stars, I would without reservation. There are few places with a perfect record and theirs is easily deserved. I initially came here a couple of years ago after I fell onto my left knee at a bar. Keep those thoughts to yourself, I was sober... I just didn't see the bloody steps down is all. The damned things were painted black. Anyway, my first visits were great with zero complaints. So when I re-injured the knee again, it took zero thought where I'd go to do my PT. I've seen several of the therapists there for my beleaguered knee and have found each one to be awesome. For these recent visits, I settled on one therapist. Lisa is friendly and knowledgeable while not being too preachy. She makes my knee feel better EVERY time I've seen her, even when she has to make it hurt a little first. And when she makes suggestions of new stretches or exercises, she will e-mail them to me while I am there to ensure they arrived! How awesome is that! They have a couple of spots in their covered garage but sometimes you'll have to park on the street or in the Safeway parking lot and walk over. If you undergo stim therapy with the ice packs, ask for a blanket. They are plush and furry. With the lights turned down, I've caught a 10-15 minute power nap because it's so nice and tranquil! read more

I came into GPT hobbling and using a cane to walk. Previously working a very physical job and had no physical limitations. I would bend, stretch, wrap myself up like a pretzel and had very good balance for as far back as I can remember. After a series of work-related back injuries, and a bulging disk I was reduced to chronic back pain and chronic back spasms and ice on my back as part of my daily routine. Additionally, pain meds anti-inflammatories and horrible sleep. Along with many physical limitations, I was walking with a cane for 6 months. I came to GPT after my wife recommended them and entered into about 2 years of PT and massage. The PT's all were very understanding some had previously been injured as well and had first-hand knowledge of the pain and limitations. We worked at a moderate pace and I followed their recommendations. Often I would hobble in and hobble out but I kept at it. The mobility routines and exercises made the difference. I DID do my exercises on my own and still do. They do matter, I committed to a lifestyle of doing regular PT exercises on my own and THAT is the thing that got me from not being able to ride a bicycle or ever carry a shoulder bag to where I am now. I am usually pain-free, I do need to do my exercises and hydrate when I do this I feel great I can go to the GYM, Swim, use weights, ride my bicycle, hike, carry a shoulder bag and live mostly pain-free unless I do something that I know will irritate my back. Then it is just a matter of getting back on track. All the GPT staff are very knowledgable and caring. The work I did with GPT changed my life for the better. read more
