I've worked with Linda Kennedy, the sales/office lady, to get my father's monument designed and…read moreset. The entire process has been terrible. There's lack of follow-ups and lack of correspondence. I've had to chase this lady down just to get any updates on the status of the monument. I finally had to speak to the funeral owner to get a call back from Linda, and this is over a span of 3 months trying to get her on the phone with me. She had great customer service when trying to sell us the plot, but after that, it's like who cares about you now, we got your money, get in the back of the line. I will never do business with this place ever again. I will never put another family member here. This place leaves a sour taste in my mouth. It's upsetting that this is my dad's home for here on. If you get a chance, go somewhere else. For a family owned business, this place is run like a pile of dirt.

I've noticed that over the past 5 years their quality of care and compassion for family has deteriorated. Many mistakes on obituaries,(birthdate etc.)not telling family that they have an option to put a picture with obituary. Seems as though they're rushed to finish paperwork. I've overheard more then once the funeral director tell the deceased family member that their going overtime and it'll cost more. (wasn't discrete about it) I was rushed as I was walking into church and told I could sign book after service. No reason for that. I'm so disappointed that their quality of caring is gone. I do want to say that Pam Griffith has a heart and does care. The President does not. Sorry I'll take my business elsewhere.

My father passed away in December from Covid-19 and we selected the Griffith Funeral home to help…read moreus bring closure and peace of mind. What we have gone through since then and are still going through is a travesty. My first call to Tony the funeral director was abrupt to say the least. I wanted to know what the cost cremation was and what actions I need to take on behalf of my Mom. I informed him that I will pay for the cremation as soon as I receive the death certificate to file for a lump sum death benefit. That was meant with short snippy attitude that "I WILL BE PAYING, REGARDLESS". Ok, that BOILED MY BLOOD!!! I was in shock at that moment. NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I BEEN TREATED THIS WAY BY A BUSINESS. This was followed by what is now 3 months of waiting for an accurate death certificate for my Dad. The first botched attempt by Linda in the front office did not have all the information that was needed completely or accurately. My Dad's mother's maiden name was not included on the death certificate. She insisted on a call with me that my mother didn't know it. My mother absolutely knows father's mother's maiden name and I couldn't believe it. On this call I told her what it is and she replied that she would promptly make the amendment and send it to OKC for processing. A FULL month goes by, during that time, I took it upon myself to file request for the death certificate from the State of Oklahoma. In late February, after having paid $75 for 3 copies from Vitalchek. I called the funeral home to see why we hadn't received the death certificate and Tony, the Manager, told me that an amendment for my father's mother's maiden had been sent to Oklahoma City and they were just waiting to receive the corrected copy. Not 10 minutes later I get a call from the State of Oklahoma to tell me the copies I had ordered independently would not be sent because my dad's mother's maiden name had not been included by Linda. I told them that I had just talked to Tony and he had told me they sent the amendment in. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE!!!! Apparently, Linda had ignored a batch of amendments that needed to be made. With Tony on the phone and the State of Oklahoma on the phone suddenly these amendments would go out the next day. This is February 26th. My dad is dead for 2 months now, my mother is distraught because suddenly she is not getting social security payments, oddly enough. Since Linda decided suddenly it was pretty important to send those amendments off, it took Oklahoma City 3 weeks to process them. I demanded that a emailed copy be sent to me when the funeral home was in custody of the death certificate. On March 9th, I got the email graciously from them only to discover immediately that Linda had misspelled my mother's name twice both first name and last name in a separate boxes. On further inspection I saw that she had transposed my father's social security number. So now we have not only 1 amendment round we now have another round that has to be made. Separately my mom is still not receiving Social Security for 3 months now. This is because the SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS were incorrectly filled out. I couldn't file for any life insurance or lump sum death benefit without the death certificate. LINDAS mistake has caused my mother and I SIGNIFICANT PAIN FINANCIAL LOSS and STRESS far beyond imagination. We are going 4th month now in trying to settle my Dad's affairs and it will be at least another month before any of this can be possibly resolved. Having just spoken with Linda, she even attempted to drive a wedge between me and my mom stating that my Mom had attempted to "cut me out". THE GALL of this "death shop is staggering. I cannot believe or understand how these crooks are in business. We went with them, funny to say because my mother is related to Griffiths. We thought for sure they would take care of us. NOTHING CAN BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH!!!!!!!! THIS FUNERAL HOME IS A TRAVESTY AND CAUSES PAIN, INSULT AND SUFFERING BEYOND MEASURE!!!!!!!!! I CANNOT TELL YOU ENOUGH STAY AWAY FROM THEM AT ALL COSTS!!!! ALMOST 4 MONTHS and I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY FATHERS ASHES!!!! I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW SHOCKED I AM AT THIS EXPERIENCE! Never have I done business with a more rude or incompetent, callous organization. It is going to be AT THE VERY LEAST another month before we can settle my Dad's affairs and I SERIOUSLY DOUBT THIS SORRY EXCUSE for a company will ever bring closure to this. I can't say it enough. Having lost my sister and my Dad in 2020 is horrible, but then to face this ordeal CAUSED COMPLETELY BY THEM has brought frustration and anger in me beyond measure. It boils my blood that they can be so cruel and frankly incompetent and still be in business.
