After my lawn and landscaping were dug out to replace my main water line, I called Mocho to discuss landscape renovation. Marlon was incredibly helpful in selecting new shrubs for in front of my house. I explained how the old boxwood roots almost damaged our sewer line, so he called the nursery right away on speaker phone and confirms the plants he recommended didn't have a deep root system. On the day the work was to be performed, he brought beautiful healthy new shrubs and mulch to match to the rest of my yard to replace what was lost in the excavation. They worked quickly but carefully to pull out the remaining boxwoods and weeds from the bed, then refurbished my landscape. Everything was clean and tidy at the end - you'd never know anyone worked in our yard. Marlon took time to explain how to water and care for my new plants as he watered them in. I hired Mocho a couple of months ago and spent about $9,000 for yard leveling, reseeding of my entire lawn, stump removal, and tree limb cutting. While the initial stump and limb work was helpful, the overall experience was very disappointing. The grass they reseeded hasn't grown much, and there hasn't been any follow-up or upkeep to ensure the work was completed properly. For the amount I paid, I expected much more attention to detail and long-term results. Unfortunately, it feels like I received the bare minimum, and I can't say it was worth the cost. I can't recommend Mocho. It seems from the reviews that they do well with hardscaping and plantings, but I had a bad experience. I asked them to rehabilitate my font lawn, which was all moss. They talked me into expanding the project to include some stone landscaping. That part of the project turned out well enough. I was hesitant about grass growing in my shady lawn but was reassured that planting Zoysia seed would work. After conditioning the soil and putting down seed, I followed the watering directions exactly. Maybe 10% of the seed germinated. I texted them repeatedly to come check it out and was told I "wasn't forgotten." Six weeks later, I texted again asking how we could make it right and I was basically told that once the seed is down, it's out of their control. He tells me that they did the work they were contracted for. Sure, but I made a decision based off your advice and now I have $2k worth of dirt lawn. I often had to text the to get them to get updates on when they were coming out for the project. At one point, an employee misunderstood where I wanted some extra rocks dumped and I informed Marlon, the boss, of the problem. He asked me to tell the employee myself because he "didn't want to come across like he's bossing them around." Weird. read more

I have had Marlon (owner) and his team taking care of all my yard needs since 2.5 years ago. He is easy to reach by text, answers my questions about my yard, easy to pay with google pay and does quality work. For example he and his team just did major pruning of some of my trees that were encroaching on my screened in patio, major pruning of some very wild bushes and put down good quality mulch and trimmed up other shrubbery and plants in the process.
