From start to finish and beyond, Leaf & Limb were awesome! I live in the backwoods of Apex, where all of the new developments are going up and we wanted something to obscure the new view now that all of the trees are gone. We also wanted a company that were not just looking to throw up some trees and walk away, but a company that was local to NC and knew what would be the best tees for our area. Thomas was our lead person and he came out, listened to what we wanted long term and came up with a great solution. He didn't just come up with a design and a map for planting, but went over what would be optimal for our area, what would survive long term and he even brought out devices to measure the best light for planting! I had heard that Green Giants and Ceders were the way to go. Thomas showed me how plants native to NC had a better chance of surviving and thriving in the clay heavy soil of Wake county. The crew came out and planted our Wax Myrtles and I was given complete instructions on how to help them thrive. And when a few of them died (there were 46 and only 6 didn't survive the winter), Patrick and Jenn came out and replaced the dead plants, cleaned up a few things that had nothing to do with the plantings and again, gave me great instructions on how to help the new plants survive. I would not recommend working with Leaf & Limb. They change appointments multiple times, making it almost impossible for homeowners to anticipate their arrival and then to directly communicate with the arborists on site. We have previously worked with Leaf & Limb which should have past documentation about how we are conservative in cutting our dogwood. But now, our dogwood has been irreparably changed in shape. You cannot glue cut tree limbs. I cannot express how heartbroken I am that our beloved tree has been trimmed in a way that did not at all reflect our desires. Absolutely terrible business. Unethical. I called them for an expert opinion on saving a tree damaged during construction in the area. They sold me their proprietary soil enrichment to be delivered quarterly, after assurances that the tree had a 70-80% chance of being saved. After the first treatment I noticed downed limbs, more issues and damage to my lawn. I contacted the arborist helping me, but he never responded. Then, they came out to do the second treatment unscheduled. I contacted them again to request further assistance because of the issues I was having but they continuous failed to respond. Then a storm came through the area and several branches came down, damaging mine and my neighbor's houses. I contacted their agent and he told me the tree was dead and that he was canceling the rest of the contract--no apology or accountability at all. He didn't even speak with me directly or return my follow up calls. I was forced to have the tree removed on an emergency basis and resod my lawn, costing me thousands of dollars. I spoke with at least six other tree companies to get quotes for the tree removal (leaf and limb of course failing to help) and they all told me the tree was long dead and it was fortunate that it hadn't fallen completely on my home or hurt someone. In their opinion it was negligent and potentially fraudulent to sell me on a chance it could be saved. Leaf and limb then sent me a bill for the two prior services and about a third. I told them that I wouldn't pay for the services that had put me in this position and reminded them they had canceled the contract without speaking with me. All of a sudden they were responsive, and they sued me for ~$200 for the two services. I offered to pay half as a goodwill gesture but they refused. In court, they leaned on the fine print disclaimer that they can't guarantee outcomes. I suppose even though those terms aren't negotiable that it was shame on me, and I should have known better. so now I'm leaving this long detailed review so others can learn from my mistake--they can do a terrible job that a majority of other companies think is negligent and will cost you tons, but then hide behind that disclaimer!! Buyer beware--in my opinion these guys are totally shady. read more

Basil (owner) was exceptional and addressed all concerns we had with the initial job. We had some problems the first time around which were not addressed by our contacts at Leaf and Limb, but it looks like they've dont a great job fixing that. Basil was eager to resolve all issues and made sure we were more than pleased with the results. Every company can have issues from time to time, but their willingness to correct it and insure that we were taken care of made all the difference! We finally had to face forking out money to have trees removed. UGH, let me count the more fun ways to spend money! Well if you have to face spending money on something you'd rather not spend money on, let me tell you, at least you can have peace of mind if you do so with this company. Husband had excellent communication with them. They did indeed manage to take down a giant weeping willow that was about to consume our backyard and back of our house, along with another big tree that was making unwelcome advances on the side of our house. Not only did they get rid of our pesky problems, but did so cleanly. They even ground away our giant stump and humongous tentacles. Not to mention they managed to pull Husband out of his predicament of having promised to remove huge fallen branches after Hurricane Matthew. Besides being reliable and professional, extra kudos for being reasonably priced. I had anticipated worse! Gotta give 'em bonus points for the clever name too. read more

I love these guys. They are all very professional, friendly and use the latest technology to help service their customers better. Kelly, came out to my house and not only explained to me what was going on with the holly tree I had in my front yard, but also explained why it would be necessary to cut it down. He emphasized that they would normally try to save the tree, but in this case it was doing more harm than good being so close to my porch. His crew came out and removed every piece of that tree. There was absolutely no mess and they even moved the mulch so that it looked nice. If you were looking for a great tree removal/ pruning company I can imagine that you would be anything other than ecstatic with leaf and limb! read more

Great company! Easy to work with, communication was very thorough, cost was very reasonable for tree work. Greyson showed up for my free consultation on time and I didn't feel rushed at all. I was able to express my concerns and have them addressed. It was really helpful to be reassured about my trees and get an expert opinion, as this is something I had never done. Very poor business practices. They gave me an estimate based on pictures texted to Matt. Kept me on a constantly changing schedule for a month and then when my appointment arrived they told me the could not do the job. They gave me an excuse that what I wanted done was not not good for the health of the trees. Last I checked I am paying the bill. Having had the same job done with no ill effects tells me they cherry pick easy money jobs. Last I checked the paying customer dictates the work. Clown show. I am very disappointed in Leaf and Limb. They do not stand by their plants. If they don't work out, they blame it on the nursery where they got them. I spent about $1000. on plants that in over two years haven't grown at all. Worse than that, they simply have washed their hands of taking any responsibility. We were very pleased with our tree removal from Leaf & Limb! They were recommended by our neighbors. We have several trees in our backyard, but we had two VERY large pine trees that were a little too close to the house for comfort. We also wanted to remove a few small sweet gums because I HATE sweet gums! Now, I love trees (that are not sweet gums), and really hate cutting them down. I imagine that is a dilemma in the tree industry, too... because clearly arborists must LOVE trees, right? But they make their living cutting them down! One of the most attractive things about Leaf & Limb was the price. I didn't get exact quotes from other companies, but I know from talking around with some other people that they charged less than many local tree removal services. So after we got the quote for our work, there was no pressure to book right away. We waited awhile and then found out there is a 10% discount when they do the work in January and February. Sold! The work was done in one day. They left the large logs on the curb, and they were picked up a couple days later. Then they came back a week from the first day to "clean up" any large pieces that were left behind. I was really pleased with their service. When I called the office, it was easy to get a hold of someone and they were always nice. I recommend them to anyone who needs a tree removed. They were great... but I hope I don't need them again (as in, I love my trees and I hope they stay happy and healthy)! read more

We have used them twice now and have been pleased with our service both times. For our first service call, they removed a stump from a pear tree in our back yard. Their service was promt and their price was reasonable. More recently, we called them to remove two holly bush stumps in our front yard. They gave me an estimate over the phone, and when they came to remove the stumps, he called to let me know that there were more branches than he originally though (this was my own fault- my husband and I had cut down the bushes and waited a while to schedule stump removal so the bushes had started to grow back). He was really nice and told me that he could do it that same day for a little bit more or he could come back another time after we'd removed the branches ourselves. I told him to go ahead and do the work since he was already there and we would pay the higher price. I really appreciated his patience and honesty. I would definitely use them again! read more

The Leaf & Limb team was exceptional this past week in pruning and removing trees in our yard. From the initial meeting with Joe, to the teams arrival and departer, Leaf & Limb was curtious, professional and clearly experts at their trade. Joe was our estimator and arrived on time and was completely professional. He took the time to explain the options, recommendations and truly understands best practices (especially since we had never engaged this type of service before). What was really amazing was that he didn't make me feel silly with my questions (when some of them were obviously silly) and took the time needed to answer every one of them. The etsimate delivery was prompt and the details were great. It was very clear exactly what they were doing and how much each action was going to cost making the decision making process much easier. Once we decided to go with Leaf & Limb, the process was well communicated as to next actions and how they would contact me with scheduling. While it took 3 weeks to get scheduled (which was fully and fairly communicated to me in advance) it was worth the wait. We were updated the Friday before arrival and then I received a call confirming arrival time the night before. The team three arrived promptly at the exptected time and walked through the scope of the job with me. They got straight to work. They were safe (helmets included) and worked efficently. And once they were done, the yard looked as though they weren't even there! Of course minus the trees and limbs that were removed and pruned! We hired Leaf and Limb to remove a couple of large and diseased trees from our property, and to trim a few crape myrtles and redbuds that were getting too close to the house and deck. They were clear about the scheduling methods--they don't give you an exact date and time when you sign the estimate, but they call the week before they plan to do the job, and then the day before. The crew took two visits to complete all of the work, but left the work sites completely clean, and even removed some other brush that I had left lying around. The trees all look great. They were in-and-out in about 45 minutes, the tree was removed and everything was cleaned up. The tree was small, but I was still very impressed at how quickly and professionally everything was taken care of. I agree with the previous review that their price was very competitive. This company is so professional! I am so impressed--not just some drive by guys with a chain saw who knock on your door and try to get you to hire them! They were next door taking down my neighbor's dead tree with a crane when I asked if they could remove a tree from my yard with their crane. The response was immediate, got me a quote on the spot (saved me because the crane was already on site), and lifted that tree right over my fence and chipped it and carried off the chips. They did not want payment on the spot; they invoiced me which I paid online. And as promised two weeks later their stump grinder came by to grind down the stump. It was a task to get that machine inside my gate but by taking off extra tires to narrow it, the guy did an amazing job. Cleaned up after himself with rake and blower and left the rich mulch at my request. I cannot recommend this company higher! read more

I have been pleased with other tree services I have used but Leaf & Limb cranks it up another notch! From first contact to job completion, we were always "on the same page." We had to re-schedule twice, once due to us and once due to the weather, and Craig made it seamless. They took down part of our fence to fell a large tree and put it back together before I even noticed. They trimmed and took out small trees over the whole property, cutting back a huge tree that has been encroaching on the house. Surprised to find out that Leaf & Limb claims they are in the business of caring for people because that is not what I experienced when dealing with this company. One morning I was walking down a street where this company was doing work along the side of the road. After I passed a group of four men working for Leaf & Limb, one of them made an incredibly sexist comment that was intentionally shouted loud enough for me to hear. I did not respond to the comment in any way as I didn't want to put myself at any more risk than I already was. I'm positive that this comment would not have been made had I not been both a woman and walking alone. The day we closed on our new home a tree fell in the front yard. We were able to clear the tree ourselves with no problem. However, the ugly stump in the front yard posed a problem. We called around to a couple different companies and Leaf & Limb Tree Service was the first company to call us back with an estimate. They were able to grind the stump into nothing but a tidy pile of wood chips without ruining the rest of the bushes in the area. They were easy to work with, prompt, and very flexible.
