You could not pay me to go to another dentist. Here are some reasons why... 1. They listen. Then they take a ton of time to answer all my questions and I never feel rushed. 2. Dr. Friedman is patient and he has an artists touch. When he fixes a chip or repairs anything he never stops before it looks perfect. He has state of the art equipment and I like watching tv while the work is being done, takes my mind off it things but don't watch a comedy because it is hard when you want to laugh. 3. Having no insurance they help me with the costs by setting up a treatment plan for me and letting me use my care credit card to avoid interest. 4. When Wanda cleans my teeth every six months I leave there with a stomach ache from laughing, she is so funny and makes the visit enjoyable and you will love her. 5. They are generous with the goodies. Toothpastes, brushes, floss etc in a goody bag when I leave. 6. The front office staff always knows my name, treats me like a person and never a number . 7. I have called the Doc twice after hours and he always gets right back to you. Nice touch. 8. Sorry all you needle phobes but it is a part of the deal so here goes... when the Doc numbs my mouth he has a great touch and I never feel the needle go into my cheek because he does this little shaky thing that works like magic. and when he numbs he NUMBS I have never felt a thing. 9. Doc Greg is a great dentist. Been going to his offices since 1990 in Pacific Beach and I still follow him all the way to Poway. He does excellent work and is very particular on making sure you get the best smile. Staff is warm, friendly and always a pleasure to see. Wanda does a very detailed cleaning and I always feel like I am in expert care. Make sure to ask for the Mod Squad Membership it's a great deal. BEST DENTAL EXPERIENCE EVER! SERIOUSLY...MOD Squad Dental deserves 10 Stars!! Where do I even start? The lobby has more comfortable chairs than my house. Heck... the lobby has more comfortable chairs than LA-Z-BOY! The only downside was that I didn't get more than a couple minutes in the chair because they were so prompt that they took me right back for my cleaning with no wait. They probably don't want to leave you in the lobby that long because the chairs are so comfy you might fall asleep. So there I was... Admiring the amazing decor in the office on my walk to my chair...OH WAIT....what's that wonderful smell?!?! Oh... It's fresh baking bread. I don't think I've ever been to a dental office with such an amazing aroma. I've even been in bakeries that didn't smell this good! I get to my chair which is basically my own private room. You don't have to have other patients watch you get a cleaning. You get the utmost privacy. The room came equipped with its own DirecTV enabled flat screen on ceiling and my own remote. Was able to watch TV during my cleaning. AMAZING! The dental chair came equipped with a back massager (with remote) and a heated neck pillow. I felt like I was at the Ritz. Amy the hygienist was absolutely amazing. The most gentle touch on the best cleaning I ever had!! After the cleaning they handed me a heated towelette to wipe my face. WOW! Dr. Friedman was great!! Extremely nice. Great sense of humor. Very informative. Was able to tell me exactly what needed to be done for a slight orthodontic adjustment I requested. Jessica the office manager was wonderful as well. Made sure the whole experience was awesome. This was my first trip here and I will be back!! I highly recommend MOD Squad Dental. Long overdue review first of all...I have been coming here for about three or four years and am always pleased with my dental work or cleanings! Attention to detail here is awesome. My previous dentist when first moving to SD was awful in comparison, and I am so lucky Dr. Friedman was able to make me happy with my smile again. I have been a patient with Mod Squad for years, and so have my two daughters. I cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Friedman and the rest of the staff. I am a huge dental-phobic and they will definitely work with you, patiently and explaining everything as they go, kindly and gently, when having procedures done. She was very knowledgeable about my insurance and was able to answer all of my questions. She greeted me with a smile when I walked in the door, and made me feel right at home. Is it possible to have a dentist that has a great skill, personality and that makes you laugh while your getting your teeth drilled? Yes... Dr. Friedman this Dentist is the best I have ever been to we have been seeing him for a few years now and we will not go anywhere else! I had this small gap in between two teeth that had been there for years, every time I ate I got food trapped in between it he fixed it for me for free while he was doing a one of my fillings. I love getting my choice of what to watch on TV while i'm getting my fillings done... and I just love my hygienist, she cleans my teeth spotless and the entire staff is just so personable. I loved MOD Squad Dental! Everyone there is so friendly and happy. You can force friendly, but you just can't fake happy! The atmosphere has kind of a relaxed swanky feel that puts you at ease right when you walk in the door. Each chair has a TV on the ceiling and a massage pad to comfort and distract you while you getting your teeth worked on. Dr Friedman was extremely friendly and capable, but what I really love is how he explained everything he was doing and showed me pictures of what my teeth looked like. Which, by the way, is the most effective strategy for return business I've ever seen. After seeing what the decay on my teeth looked like before he filled them, I swear I will never miss another brushing or cleaning and I'll never skimp on dental work just cause my teeth don't hurt! They explained to me exactly what my insurance covers and found me all the discounts and credits they offer before I even asked. Seriously, they want you to be happy! Also, they offer new clients free whitening with custom trays for life! I initially was skeptical of this offer, there has to be a catch right? Nope, none at all! Just have two cleanings per year and get free custom trays and whitening for life! They practically forced me to take it and I'm so glad I did! I've already told several friends of my friends how much I loved going to MOD Squad Dental and have absolutely no hesitation saying that if you try them, you'll love them just as much as me! read more

Have had previous regular cleanings at Mod Squad Dental, but this review was for an emergency chipped tooth I had work done at a dentist a few hundred miles away. I had chipped my tooth a couple months ago, and I had a dentist patch my chipped tooth with color-matched filling. However, I was never really happy with the work done. So the day my filling fell out of my chipped tooth, I called my dentist to see if they could fit me in. Well lo and behold, they honored my emergency request and fit me in the same day. They are usually really booked up, and so I was surprised to see they fit me in in such short notice. Dr. Fariba and her dental assistant Bianelle did an exceptional job. When I first saw the results of the work, I was frankly speechless - didn't know which tooth was chipped because it looked so perfect. To Dr. Fariba and the team, I salute you for an excellent job well-done, and when I come back to the Scripps Ranch/Poway area, I will make sure to go to Mod Squad Dental for my dental work. read more

I visited Dr. Friedman's office yesterday for the first time and I must say I will be sticking with the Mod Squad for many years to come. When I walked into their office it did not feel like a dentists office in any way. It is very comfy and cozy and I was greeted in such a friendly matter as soon as I walked in. Jessica came out to introduce herself to me as well and to let me know that Kaylyn would be out to see me shortly. I went in for a cleaning and I can honestly say that I have never had such nice experience as I did with Kaylyn. I know....I know....how could a cleaning be a nice experience? Kaylyn explained everything she was doing, was gentle during the entire process and asked questions about me during each little break. I was surprised when we were done because I didn't have any of the anxiety that I usually have when visiting a dentist. Dr. Friedman came in after the cleaning to go over my x-rays and options that I have for replacing some crowns and fillings. He was just as personable as the rest of the staff that I encountered. Let me start this off by saying that this Dental office is nothing like I would expect when you think of a Dentist...the atmosphere in the office is up lifting and comical. The staff are as friendly as can be and Dr. Friedman treats you like a human being not just another paying client. He is very personable and actually cares about not just my teeth but how I am doing as a person. Like most people I am terrified of needles and receiving shots, yet when Dr. Friedman injects you he has this technique that is virtually painless and very comforting. The first time I experienced this he was asking me some questions while moving closer with the needle the next thing I knew he was setting it back on his tray, and I asked "do I need something more serious? Is that why you decided not to inject me?" to his reply "Nope, you are set to go...pretty painless huh?" I recommend him and his staff to anyone wanting a great dental experience and top notch work. He is revolutionizing this industry and is always updating his knowledge on cutting edge treatments. I went in to Dr. Friedman's office in Scripps to have him fix a small chipped tooth...he was very cool and fixed it, told me I did not have any cavities and the price was reasonable and my tooth is smooth!! The office mgr chick Jessica was way cool and easy on the eyes!! I had went to a cheesy dentist by my work in Escondido first, and he told me that I needed a bunch of fillings!!! Went in today to see "Doc" GREG FRIEDMAN I have problems with a tooth and another dentist was wanting me to pull it and do all kinds of other stuff to bill insurance. Greg had z-rays sent over from the other dentist and he couldn't see everything because it was fuzzy. To be cautious, he had his staff take some more x-rays of my tooth. He examined my x-rays and then my teeth, and then explained that he wanted to send me to Peradonist. Reson being is that he explained that instead of going right in and pulling my tooth, he stated that they might be able to repair the gums with Lazers. I TOTALLY respect the fact that Greg is cautious on my care, and I'm blessed that he's my dentist again. GO TO MOD SQUAD DENTAL!!!! TRUST ME YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!! read more

I went into my root canal a total nervous nelly but left convinced I finally found a dentist office where I can comfortable and like I'm in good hands! Kaylyn (teeth cleaning) was sweet , personable and gentle with my gums most importantly. Then the hard part the root canal Dr. Grahl and Brandon did such a great job! Dr. Grahl went above and beyond with a root canal that wasn't simple (overly calcified) I felt no pain unlike my previous experience and another office. Brandon made me feel comfortable and like I was in the right place! Definitely the best dental experience to date. read more

I would not recommend this dental practice. My wife went in for some deep cleaning and 2 fillings. The bill turns out to more than $2400 dollar. I have 2 insurances to cover this bill and still have to pay $780. When I ask my wife about it, she told me that they never give her a bill with insurance accounted for. They just told her the estimated bill without the insurance portion and told her the insurance company will pay a lot of it. When I called them, the office manager Jessica was very rude. If anybody is interested in this dental office, I would advice you to make sure how much you have to pay before starting any procedure. read more

I have been going to Doctor Greg Friedman's MOD Squad Dental office for over 5 years now and have never been happier. BTW- The staff there give the best hugs, so ask for one on your next visit! They are always in a cheerful mood and yet maintain a level of professionalism that is a notch above the rest! Dr. Greg is a great dentist and has a real gentle touch. I used to hate going to the dentist...until now. He makes you feel comfortable as he educates you on what exactly he will be doing in your mouth and how to prevent you from having to go back. (as often) They have the latest and up-to-date technology backed with well over 20 years experience in the industry which gives me and hopefully you too a sense of comfort and validity. Oh yeah and lastly, the TV's on the ceiling are clutch! The fillings in my mouth are inevitable due to the chocolate and sweets I continue to eat, but so is the fact that I will be watching re-runs of Leave it to Beaver. I've been going to Mod Squad Dental for years but to back up to the beginning, my boyfriend referred me to them, after a mishap with my dentist of 10 years. I was hesitant and I must say I had very high expectations. The recommendation and glowing reviews turned out to be spot on! The entire staff is warm and welcoming and they immediately make you feel like part of their family. The office manager, Jessica is extremely knowledgeable and so helpful with insurance or billing questions and with her sweet and caring disposition you just can't help but love her! Wanda, my hygienist is truly one of a kind and I really look forward to seeing her at each visit... funny and personable yet very professional and darn good at what she does! Not sure how she does it but my cleanings never hurt! Doc well, he is incredible! He is very skilled at what he does, has state of the art tools and equipment and I love that he takes the time to get to know you and address any concerns that you may have. He really cares, is never pushy and takes his time to make sure the work is done right and to your satisfaction. The facilities are fun, modern and clean! Comfortable and private chairs for patients each with a TV screen (and they always ask you what channel you'd prefer to watch). It doesn't feel cold or sterile like a lot of dentist offices. After each visit they follow up with a survey and even a call to assure that you were satisfied with your visit. I love how up-to-date they are and the email appointment reminders are a lifesaver . The Mod Squad has been keeping my teeth looking sharp for the past 14 years or so. Due to a work related change to my insurance coverage, I reluctantly switched to another dentist for about a year and my family was not thrilled. Though that dentist was good, they were not as good nor nearly as friendly as Dr Friedman and his superb staff. After switching companies that has similar dental benefits I had originally, we immediately came back to the Mod Squad. It feels more like a spa then a dentist's office, the dental chairs themselves heat up and can message you, they have aroma therapy, a neck pillow and blankets in the room, to really take away any anxiety at all. Doc and Jess are angels with warm hearts, have a great sense of humor, and are dentistry artists. I got veneers done here in 2008 and I could not be happier with them! Friends and family don't believe me when I tell them they are veneers, and I've had two dentists and one endodontist tell me that they look incredible and were done really well! OMG - I had an intensive service on 12/14 with father and son. It was so good, I went to sleep while Dr. G was grinding down my lower teeth in preparation for veneers.
