I had a positive experience with Dr. Andersen. He listened carefully to my multiple annoying concerns and really seemed to be trying to help. The office is nice and modern. But! In my case, I asked several times before, during, and after the procedure about the cost and whether I owed anything. I also double-checked right before leaving, and the answer was a clear "no" with a sweet smile, not a "maybe" or "we should check with insurance." And guess what? Used to be great. When I came in for today's cleaning "new management" says they just discovered a "billing error" from TWO YEARS AGO and asked if I'd like to pay the $151. Your sloppy accounting is not my fault. Of course I could pay it, just as easily as you could accept your mistake and waive it. You can choose to treat your customers however you wish. Staff never calls back. I was told this is because they have a lot of turnover. Male hygienist is pretty awful as well. He spent about 15 mins cleaning my teeth and then suggested I come back to pay for a deeper cleaning (which I have never done). I would not recommend this dental office. read more

I'm so pleased with this staff! from the moment of walking into the door, I've never felt more comfortable in another other dental office. They were able to fit me in last minute, and help with a problem tooth I have. They are very informative, patient, helpful, & kind! I even had a ton of laughs here with the staff, which helped so much with my anxiety. Dr. "Gentle hands" Anderson (a new nickname ) was beyond amazing. This is a review of a crown, manufactured and installed in about 2.5 hours by the team of Dr. Anderson, Grace Chiang (computer aided design specialist and dental tech), and Kassidy (team lead). I give them high marks for medicating me for zero pain and discomfort, precision scanning of my mouth with a computer wand, and letting me witness the CAD screen while they disigned my crown, as well as letting me witness the actual machining of the tooth from a square piece of porcelain. I am not going to post the out of pocket because each situation is different, but I found my portion to be the same as if I used a dentist that did not manufacture the tooth, and I had to endure a prosthetic glued on my drilled-down tooth for a few weeks. Same day crowns are the shiznit, and I highly recommend Del Sur! read more

Update 2021: this dentist ignores my letters, emails and calls. They charged twice for a service they didn't provide. I have given them copies of the EOBs from Delta Dental and still they send statements for the same amount. No dialog at all. No calls from their billing folks. It is mind boggling. You would think the dentist him/herself would care about how their front and back office is treating their patients. Please save yourselves. read more

Del Sur Ranch Dental was very professional and caring when Dr. Still was still working there. She left her practice during Covid and since then the service went downhill. I had one dentist who worked there for only a week so I was passed on again to different dentist. In March 2022, I had a new crown of which my insurance will pay for majority of it. During that visit, they asked for a $415 payment. I called my dental insurance to check how much will be covered. On my next visit they asked another $415 and I told them that my insurance will pay for the rest. The lady in the front who I think is a manager convinced me to pay and assured me that they will refund me the excess amount quickly. We are now in October and I have not received the refund due to me. I called and spoke with Emma who said that I owe more money. I told her I already had paid a total of $830 and I know my copy is only approximately $400. She told me that I only paid once and they have no records of my 2nd payment. She said she find out what happened to my 2nd payment. 3 weeks had passed and I have not heard back from Emma. I sent 2 emails asking for an update but never got a response. She claimed that they have been having email issues. (Yes! For 3 weeks!) I decided to personally go to Del Sur Ranch Dental and find out what was going on with my refund. I spoke with Emma and got the same reply telling me said that there are no records of my 2nd payment. I told her I have proof of my 2 payments from my FSA. She offered to find out about my 2nd payment. Lo and behold Emma called me 2 days later telling me she found the 2nd payment. Duh! It is October and I still have not received my refund of the excess amount I paid for my crown. read more

I been going here for almost 2 years and the service here is always on point. I walk in and get greeted right away even when walking past other staffs. They take care of me right away and I can tell they really care about my overall oral health because I always walk out of there with clean teeth and a big smile that I can't hide. read more

I've been going to DSRD since moving to San Diego almost 4 years ago. I find them to be excellent in all regards. Staff and Doctors are all top pros. Genuinely caring and competent. I love that their ultra modern office is immaculate and all Covid protocols are followed. The emphasis is always put on the health of my mouth and whole system. I highly recommend them. read more

Worst experience I have ever had in my life. Dr. Jennifer needs to own up to her mistakes instead of running away from it. Don't go to this office ever. I Received your response, I came to your office three times about severe pain after the first and second procedure then I came for cleaning my teeth and I mentioned again the constant still pain all this happened in less then an eight days period then I called your office they answered and I was denied to come and see you and referring me to another endodontics which I did to end the pain. The least I can say to save time and money is having a right diagnosis from a start point. Especially when a dentist would rather refer you to another dentist than fix her mistake. read more

I'll give DSRD a star for Dr. Dovey, as I liked him, but otherwise, DSRD gets zero stars. At a previous visit with Dr. Dovey, I was told that everything looked great...no cavities and that since I'd never had one, I probably never would at my age. Six months later at my next visit, not only did I get the usual upsell of unnecessary extra treatment options, I was told that I had multiple cavities. Nothing with my diet, dental hygiene or anything else had changed. To add to my shock and disgust, the dentist offered to "...take care of it today"...uh, heck no. Do you seriously think I'm going to have you fill these new found "cavities" on the spot? Wait, it gets better...as I'm leaving, they offered me a discounted price if I wanted to pre-pay for the fillings. Some time later, they even called and offered, again, to fill my "cavities". Fast forward to my dental visit today at a new dentist...never mind that this whole experience outraged me so much that I put off going to the dentist for way too long...and guess what? No cavities per the x-rays and exam. They said everything looked great and I was one of their easiest patients. I've never had such an upsetting and shocking medical-related experience as I did at DSRD. read more

Every time we schedule cleanings they call to reschedule. This has been happening for the past 3 years. I have repeatedly spoken to the "Office Manager" about this and every time I am told it won't happen again. After confirming an appointment via text 3 days before the actual appointment my husband arrived for his cleaning this morning and was told they had to reschedule due to a meeting. I couldn't be more impressed with the treatment, care and quickness of this practice! I called Monday morning because my tooth had cracked they got me in right away. I was greeted by the front desk guy, Doug. He is so friendly and funny, made my day! When I got in the room to be seen by the doctor, Dr. Stanton and his assistant they were very friendly and informative about everything. This office is very high tech, they were able to make a crown for me in 20 minutes and put it in that day. The whole treatment only took 2 hours! So far, I don't have any complaints. Dr. Nicolas Dovey is a great doctor. The staff is also friendly, but special shoutout to their awesome dental hygienist, Renee. She is the absolute best! She is so careful, gentle, and meticulous. She is the only dental hygienist that I'd ever been happy with. I like how they are up-to-date with their equipment like for example, Renee was talking to a voice activated system to record the numbers so she didn't need anybody else to assist with cleaning my teeth. When they took my x-ray, it was a handheld device, so it was painless and convenient. Their forms process was also efficient. They get sent to you electronically prior to your appointment. Although their office hours are kind of limited and their cancellation policy is pretty strict (I believe you have to give them at least 48 hours notice or there's a fat fine), I am happy with their service overall and I will continue to come here. read more

First, let me say, I'm TERRIFIED of going to the dentist. It is something I have dreaded since I was little. I stopped by here the other day and I must say I was overly impressed with the entire staff & their office. My visit exceeded every expectation possible. Dr. Kay and his staff were patient, understanding and very well educated. They spent 30 minutes just calming my "fears" and making sure I was comfortable. They explained step by step what they were doing to my teeth. They took x-rays and it was so fast and convenient. They were honest and they truly care of my well being. I never once was uncomfortable but loved every moment. I will go here anytime. I have referred a group of my friends and they all loved it here as well! Our go to dentist. Taylor and Dr. Lopp are absolutely amazing! I have been dreading getting my cavity filled for weeks (I am extremely afraid of needles and did not want to be numbed). I was so scared and nervous when I came in until Taylor reassured me how smooth the process would be and that I may not even need to be numb. Dr. Lopp came in shortly after and he made me feel even better with his calm approach. He was so gentle and I didn't feel a thing! I was able to get through my filling in 10-15 minutes. I highly recommend Del Sur Ranch Dental. They are one of the few dental offices open for emergencies during the COVID 19 crisis. My crown had fallen off so I needed to see a dentist as soon as possible. Dr. Davey and his assistants wore all of the proper protective gear and I felt very safe getting the crown reattached. I am beyond impressed with Del Sur Ranch Dental. I went for my first appointment where I felt heard and taken care of--and to top it off, the office is beauitful. The staff was warm and welcoming and Dr. Still was incredible. After a complete and comprehensive exam, Dr. Still found something on the soft palate of my mouth that needed a look by an oral surgeon. It was a good decision--although nothing bad, it did need to be removed. In addition, I needed to get an old crown replaced and some minor fillings. Nothing but 5 stars for the whole team! I want to start this review off by saying that I've had terrible dental anxiety ever since a bad experience about 10 years ago. I've come in once for X-rays and came back yesterday for pain in my front tooth which is capped because of a break several years ago. Turns out I needed a root canal! I was hesitant since going to the dentist is already so nerve racking, but the pain was excruciating so i agreed to the procedure. They were able to get me in the following day(today). I was accommodated so nicely! The whole staff was welcoming and extremely genuine. I had headphones and my choice of Netflix show for the whole procedure, the nitrous and blanket were a nice plus too! Very bad experience. The hygienist was very hard on my teeth. Said my gums needed the exercise. Know that I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months. I was sore for 3 days after. Also they rescheduled the appointment on me and called it a cancellation. The next appointment fell on a Tuesday morning and I was down with fever over the weekend. I called on Monday morning (48 hours fell on a Sunday and they are closed). They charged me $50 cancellation as I had rescheduled it twice. I explained to her the last time they called me to reschedule the appointment. They wouldn't listen and applied the fee anyway. Stay away - they are inhuman. read more

They do a good job of explaining everything about the practice as well as procedures on your first visit. I just returned from today's visit; I had two crowns and two small fillings. Dr. Still and the entire team were welcoming, caring, and extremely competent. I was greeted and brought back right away to receive a summary of the day's treatment; pictures of my teeth were waiting my arrival!!! I watched Zootopia on the ceiling screen to calm me but there really was no need!!! It was a as pleasant as a trip to the dentist or Doctor could be, and I'm a huge baby. I opted for nitrous oxide just in case. A good option as this can calm the most anxious of us. The crowns were measured and cut using some cool technology right on site. I even watched the process!! My initial visit last week was a checkup and cleaning. They are very concerned with your overall health including oral health. They took my blood pressure and we went in depth regarding my overall health history. The office is extremely pleasant with a ranch theme!! Very calming. Their billing is very straight forward, as costs, insurance coverage, and out of pocket fees are discussed at length before the procedure. I even got a discount for paying a week in advance.
