took my 14-year-old daughter to get her eyebrows done at Model Nails & Spa. While she was already sitting down for the service, we were told the price would be $16 instead of the posted $14 because she supposedly had "too much hair." My daughter does not even have a unibrow, and I found that comment completely unprofessional and unnecessary especially to say to a teenager or anyone The extra $2 is not the issue!! the rude, unprofessional, and insensitive attitude is. Making unnecessary comments about a young girl's appearance is completely unacceptable and honestly embarrassing for a business that works in beauty services. If this is how they treat customers, especially teenagers, they should seriously rethink their customer service. There are plenty of other salons in the area that know how to treat people with basic respect. We will absolutely never be back. read more

I went to model nails and spa for the first time as part of a gift certificate I got from my husband. Honestly, I expected better service and quality. First, I had a nail technician do my nails, and the girl next to me had a little bow design put on which looked very nice, so I decided to have my technician do the samething for extra $$. Honestly, the bows the technician made looked like I could've drawn the bow on it myself. I had to speak up and ask him to redo one of my hands because it looked so bad. Needless to say I left not completely satisfied, but what made me give this one star was the fact that I've had powder gel nails done at other salons and it's always lasted me about 3 to 4 weeks. My nails chipped within two weeks of having it! I'm very disappointed. read more

For the record, I do not regularly frequent nail salons. With a special event planned, I decided to do some research with additional referencing of my Yelp community and IG influence. Apparently, they do quite a bit of what I consider "glam." Upon entering, I knew immediately that this was not the usual nail salon. It was very roomy, open and decorated with a purpose. The vibe was hip & trendy with a touch of class. We were greeted with a smile and immediately introduced to our nail stylists. My daughter and I decided to share the experience together with mani pedis. Our pedicures were side by side in these clearly new massage chairs. It was a lovely experience. However, I was a bit disappointed when I was told that the color (navy blue to match a dress I'm wearing) I wanted was out of stock. I picked another one that turned out to be just fine. My basic pedicure was very nice & relaxing. We were then separated as our stylists had different stations. I chose a French manicure, which carries a $10 upcharge (but despite that the prices seem reasonable in comparison to other places). And they are upfront about all the costs IF you pay attention to their pricing listed in the price menu that you can get when you walk in at reception...so you really shouldn't be surprised UNLESS you just don't look at it. Anyway, I digress. The French manicure was also an equally pampering experience. Additionally, my daughter's mani pedi was an experience she enjoyed as well. Service was okay. I wanted powder dip manicure however they had limited color selection. I saw a gel color I liked, so I went with that but the prices at first were completely off. At first she said $80 for the gel color and I thought that was too much, then she said it would be $45 which was what the powder was so I said okay. The tech filed my nails briefly then applied the color quickly, barely got a hand massage and the towel was cold. Took 10 mins to do. Felt like a basic manicure but bc it's was gel color the price jumped. I don't mind paying for quality service and I've gotten my nails done many times. This was the quickest and most expensive manicure I've gotten and it's not even a good job. I won't be back. read more

Every time I come here it's an issue . None of the colors in the book match the real color. I go in today for a gel powder fill in. The very rude nail lady doesn't even take off my old base she just buzzes it . No foil wrap or anything clearly she was doing it half way. I tell her after one coat the color isn't looking like it did in the book . I wanted a dark red I got a bright neon red .. she said one more coat it will be better I gave it a shot still not good . She starts yelling at me saying it's my fault . I kindly ask her to take it off so I can just leave because I don't appreciate being yelled at as a client . She then starts getting red nail polish all over my skin . Very unpleasant it's a shame because there are a few good nail techs here but this experience killed it for me. Been coming here for YEARS and Thuy never ever disappoints! I believe I discovered Model Nails when I was 18 and I am now 24 still going to Thuy! She is so warm and sweet, will give you suggestions if you need or help you decide if you're debating like I am the most time between color and designs. Everyone else is incredibly talented and great, but Thuy never ever fails and always makes sure I am leaving with a smile on my face and a perfect manicure exactly how I want it. Their remodel is absolutely INSANE and beautiful, very well deserved and earned! It is the only nail salon I will go to and Thuy is the only Nail Stylist I go to! Wont disappoint read more

Second time getting my nails done here (1st time I got a full set uv gel nails with design on 2 nails and basic gel pedicure totaling $130) this time I got only fill-in UV gel on my nails with gel color and was talked into getting french which was told it would be $10 more and the tech did 2 nail designs, at the end of service I was charged $80 mind you nail length isn't even that long and just seems overpriced, I've done my nails before in other nail salons and way longer and was never charged $80 nevertheless for something so simple. Will be looking elsewhere for the future. read more

Has to be one of the worst experiences I've had. I called beforehand and asked if they were good with designs. They told me yes I got in there and the girl botched up my nails so bad. She also cut me several times on my cuticle. Will never go back there again . Don't let the pretty salon fool you. Not to mention, I waited almost a half hour when I had an appointment for 1 o'clock.
