Went in for a diagnosis and he had the car inside and had an answer with a quote in less than 30 minutes. Gave them the go ahead and he had me out the door within 30 minutes. Still faced some issues with the system so I stopped back in after the weekend and he once again took it inside pretty much immediately and was able to find my second problem and solve it quickly and effectively. I have a older motorhome that the dash air went out. Called modern and set a appointment. Not to make a long story out of this but in the motorhomes past it had the same problem and the repair was made and hidden in the wiring loom. Modern found it repaired it and sent me on my way. I thought the bill was very fair for the amount of time it took to find it. I will take my cars there if I have issues with the a/c. I found the people who work there to be fair and honest. However, the second time I brought my car, they were trying to over charge me just a little. Saw an ad on TV for this auto a/c repair shop recently and decided to take my car in for a free estimate. So glad I did, because they were able to diagnose the problem in about 20-30 minutes (after I've lived with a/c problem for past year or more!) They gave me an estimate of the repair cost and offered to make repair on the spot. I couldn't stay that particular day to have the repair done, so I returned a week later and the repair to my car a/c was completed within two hours. It's been about 6 weeks now, and the a/c works like a charm! No more sweating, rolling down the windows to have hot air blow in or having to take another car in my household to keep cool! These guys are great. It's nice to see some integrity. I came into game an estimate on my 2008 Toyota Tundra A/C. for an estimate $1000 lower than Germain Toyota, plus $100 for the estimate. I won't be buying my new truck there but I digress. they fixed or but something shorted out my center console display. They could not figure it out so they gave a verbal ok to get it fixed and they would pay for it. Well this time I went to Germain. They fixed it, but the bill was almost. $1000. If you are having car A/C problems in the SWFL / FM area, this is the only place to go! Vehicle A/C is all they do! Honest, professional and at a fair price. A/C is too specialized. Get your brakes fixed at a brake shop. Fix your A/C problems here. Every service tech is an A/C expert. Even IF he is insure, he has half a dozen other A/C experts right there to confer with. You won't find that at a generic auto repair shop. I was very pleased with the fast and correct solution to my Mazda's A/C problem. You do not even need an appointment. 5 stars plus! Experts who are honest and considerate. We have had the pleasure of dealing with JJ at Modern Auto twice recently. No appointment but the courteous friendly office staff assured me they could look at our car immediately. The mechanic found my minivan's ac problem and offered me two options for fixing the problem. We chose the cheaper option, and JJ (owner) told us if it didn't work then if we brought it back to him he would do the more expensive option minus the $ we had spent that day! A few weeks later my van started making a funny sound. I thought it was the same issue so took it back to Modern. JJ spent an hour checking it out - including a test drive- but found the issue wasn't AC related. He charged us nothing. He did give me a referral- when I mentioned JJ they saw me that day. Modern AC would get 10 stars if I could give it to them!!! read more

The long and short of it is that he let me know my compressor would be covered under the warranty of the vehicles manufactured warranty. And then when the dealership claimed the vehicle warranty was not good for typical manufacturers BS. He has then helped me once again how to handle that situation with corporate. All this without even making a dollar with me by just telling me how to handle each situation that was coming up. Lastly JJ let me know that if the manufacturer was not willing to help me that he would with a payment just so I could be comfortable in my car. Wow. My Honda Odyssey's AC died right in the middle of May. Not a good thing in Florida. Looking online, I found these guys and went to them first. They diagnosed my car in 15-20 minutes in needing a new compressor, and gave me an estimate--either using a brand they recommend or OEM. Checked with the dealer, same diagnosis, twice the cost. Called Sears, about the same (little more), but they wouldn't tell me what type of parts they'd use. Plus the local Sears has horrible reviews. Husband wanted me to check the local Aamco shop, so went in...waited an hour...and received yet again, the same diagnosis, but they told me it would take 1-1/2 days to fix (compared to 2 hours from everybody else, including the dealer.) Ended up going back, and they fixed it as promised quickly and accurately. Did not feel that they took advantage of me because I'm a woman, either. Nice clean area to wait in as well. Highly highly recommended for accuracy, honesty, price, and skill. read more

My mother brought her car there and when she got it back, I noticed a few thing... -her dash was ripped in some parts. -plastics in some areas was not put back on all the way. -carpet was still out of the plastics in some parts. -a piece of her steering column had fallen out. It was just a disaster, and I don't expect her to know what to inspect when getting a vehicle back, but all I know is this place is garbage and I still find my self finding things wrong and fixing it. -- If I find a way to add photos I will! read more
