BEWARE: David, the owner, is a liar and forced his employee to lie to me about work done to my car. From the beginning: Got into a minor accident that just left a crack on my bumper. My insurance recommended Modern Auto Body as their "preferred" shop so I went there for the repairs. Called me when my car was done (which took twice as long as they estimated) and I said Id pick up the next morning. Get there only to find out they weren't sure if a vendor completed a task so they had to call the vendor back out (AC refill) and will take 1-2 hours. meaning I could not take my car. I have my 3 yr old with me so this was inconvenient but ok, took my rental and went shopping to kill time. Come back 2 hours later, take my car home to find MOUSE DROPPING INSIDE MY CAR. My entire console was covered and inside the glove box. This is disgusting! How could they return a car to me with mouse droppings all over? I can understand that living near wooded areas may bring mice however how they handled it is awful. I call them to let them know what I found and receive hesitation about what "they can do for me". I was initially told they can vacuum it out. I said thats not enough. I will not drive my child around in a car with mouse droppings in the ventilation system potentially and what about the damage the mice could have done to the engine? I wanted 3 things, the car vacuumed and sanitized, the ventilation system and engine checked for damage and droppings and new cabin filter. Too much too ask? This is a 6 month old new car worth $60k. I did not trust my car in their care to have it returned with droppings from vermin inside. If you got this far, keep going. The good stuff is below. What happened next is shocking. I took the car back the same day after 2-3 phone calls back and forth, to be met with more hesitation even though they told me to come back. I was told they checked everywhere for my filter and no one has it in stock so they cant do that. They are also waiting for the adjustor to "approve it". I asked approve what? My insurance is to pay for something that happened on the auto body shops property and for a $40 filter? Ridiculous! Tim, the employee, tells me to wait while he takes it to the detailers to clean. 30 mins later or so comes back out to tell me "surprise, David (the owner) ordered a filter and didn't tell me" so we were able to replace that. I was definitely hesitant to believe that bc Tim was initially adamant that there were no filters in stock but David managed to get one delivered in 30 mins? Tim takes me out to show me how they cleaned up the car and "on scouts honor" (bc I asked again) said they replaced the cabin filter and checked the engine and found no further issues. I said ok, cool, but I would like my old filter back. Tim pulled out his phone to show me a picture. I said no, I want my old filter please. He said ok and went back to get it while I waited in my drivers seat. When Tim came back WITH David, empty handed, I knew they lied. David aggressively opens my passenger door and pulls the glove box open while having a massive attitude saying "If you want to go dig through the dumpster you can but we're not" and offered to show me the filter in my car. I asked why he has a massive attitude and raising his voice when I have been super understanding even though it was my third time there today and he starts yelling again. I told him to get out of my car. Hind site, I wish I would have let him rip the filter out but I was not going to let him yell at me. He slammed the door and told Tim he is not allowed to talk to me anymore and they both started to walk away so I got out of my car and yelled across the car to let them know I know they are liars and Tim even said "scouts honor". Tim did turn around when I asked him if he lied to my face and told me he is just the messenger. So to my understanding, David told him to lie. Thats when David charged back at me with a finger in my face yelling at me (im a 5'2 small female alone in a parking lot with two men). My husband removed the "new filter" when I got home to find dirt and debris in it so clearly they lied as the filter was old and dirty. BEWARE!! read more

this business is a greedy opportunistic thieves, who will try to include more work and defraud the insurance companies while also trying to back door, steal your car. I am currently in litigation with Modern Auto Body (owner) who never contacted me when my car was finished and the only reason I knew that my car was finished was because that insurance company had to call them and asked them if my car was done because I had a rental car that the insurance company was paying for, when I go there to pick up my car, I had the money to pay and they said that I owed an extra two grand for storage fees because I never came and picked my car up mind you this was only 60 days after it was completed 2000 and storage fees when this was told to the judge at show calls hearing he scoffed and actually wanted to do a verdict in there. Do not take your car here. I had a very nice car that they have been driving around refused to give me my tags off of it because of an admissions that is due and also my insurance I could pay $50 for storage fee instead of the 220 that I'm spending for full coverage and I'm not even driving it , like I said went there had to call the state police and had to literally talk to the receptionist who by the way is very rude. Frankly, she's a bitch and a puppet never once did I see or talk to anybody but the receptionist I went there several times trying to speak with a manager somebody who could take charge and not just repeat words and say I don't know and he's not here , regardless there's other comments on here that say this business is shady as well just remember do not take your car to Modern Auto Body (owner) read more

After recently having our Chevy HHR involved in a collision, I took it to Modern Auto Body for the repair work. This included needing a new hood, bumper cover, fender, and lights. I could not have been happier with the very high-quality work performed and excellent customer service provided by everyone from the moment I called to make an appointment through the time I picked up the repaired car. Of the couple auto body shops I've used in the past, Modern Auto Body has far and away been the absolute best in all points of the experience. From scheduling the drop-off to the day of pick up I was well informed and felt like I was in good hands with Steve, the person handling my repair. Steve updated me almost daily and fought to get me the best parts for my late model Chevy repair. The repair was done in a timely manner and I couldn't be happier with the result, looks brand new. The body repair were not only unsatisfactory, but they created new problems. Both fenders of the vehicle were showing rust, and the repair was too "make pretty", according to the tech. After the eight business days of "repair" one fender was complete. After a day (a Saturday when they were closed), I noticed the other fender had "rust bubbles" painted over as if they cut corners to hurry the job. Additionally, brown "overspray" was all over the read driver-side tire. The rear tail light wire for the LED resistor was stripped and not connected. When I returned the vehicle to show them the problems and they responded that there was "no guarantee" and would not correct any of the issues. Do not use this body shop. read more

VERY DISHONEST AND OPPORTUNISTIC. I bought my car into this body shop because it was the closest to where my car broke down just next to Reichs Ford Rd. and Allstate called them a preferred body shop. A rock the size of a mandarin fell off a flatbed from one of those gravel trucks, went under my car and knocked my oil filter out and sent my car's oil spilling all over the road and my engine shut down when the car's sensor picked up low oil levels. Before finding out it was just the oil filter, I thought the worse since the car wouldn't start and he rock made a lot of noise as it was bouncing through my car's undercarriage. Everything started out fine, got my car rental from Enterprise and the receptionist was very kind when I handed over my keys (she is the only saving grace this place). Keep in mind that my car although wouldn't start could be placed in neutral and pushed. In fact that is how I got it off the busy road where my car died on me (a nice gentleman behind me helped pushed it while I steered it in neutral). I car rolled VERY smoothly. When I got it to the body shop's parking lot, it was only 20-30 feet away from the main garage where they performed their body shop work. I would have not known this unless I forgot to get some items from my car when I dropped it off. Before I left I remembered I needed a couple of items. One of the main guys named Sean was a little reluctant to let me back, but eventually walked me back to my car. I assumed it was for security purposes, but you'll understand an additional reason, by the end of this review. So once I found out it was just a matter of replacing the oil filter and the oil, I had them do that work and I went to go pick it up the next day. Now it was under the $500.00 deductible threshold, so I would be paying out of pocket.....fair enough. When I went to pick up the car, the bill was roughly $367.00. $143.00 for towing (which Allstate is reimbursing me for).That leave $224.00, FOR AN OIL CHANGE WITH FILTER. I can understand $100-$150 total, because of the quick diagnostic and labor. I was curious what kind of oil they put in because some places try to cut corners by using cheap oil. So I asked the receptionist what kind of oil was used for the change? Before she would answer, a rude mechanic working there cut her off and said, "The kind that comes out the ground". Instead of engaging and stooping down to his level I just smiled and the kind receptionist got the answer (it was full synthetic...at least on paper). He then continued and said, "I was right! I told you it was the kind that comes out the ground". Not sure if you want to employ a mechanic who doesn't know a little bit about how oil is refined and graded. So instead of asking him if he wanted a cookie for his efforts, I just paid the bill because I had to get back to work. I thought it was pretty pricey considering the amount of work they did. As I reviewed the bill I saw a surcharge for $95.00 for additional towing. I called and asked why I was charged for towing since I was already billed for towing. The receptionist put me on the phone with Sean and he said they had to tow the car from where it was parked in their lot to the main garage where they did the work. Again the car was 15-30 feet from the main garage in the first place. It was a matter of putting the car in neutral and rolling it into the garage. I told Sean as I was walking to my car to pick up my forgotten items that the car rolls just fine when you put it in neutral because I was explaining to him how the situation happened in the first place and how I safely got it on the side of the road. He said that they deemed the car undriveable and because of this had to tow it 15-30 FEET! Now I know why he didn't want me walking back to the lot where my car was parked. He didn't want me seeing how close my car was to the main garage. I know body shops do what they can to upcharge, but this is nothing short of UNETHICAL and SHADY. I told Sean what I thought and he said, it's just what we charge. I've never written a review on yelp, but I felt inclined to write one in case anyone else thinks of using them for their car. I will also be initiating a dispute with my credit card company that I paid the bill with to subtract the $95.00 for services not rendered. If need be I will file a civil dispute, because this is a matter of principle. As a member of the United States Air Force, we are taught three core values: integrity, service before self, and excellence in all you do. Now I don't expect a place of business to embody all of these traits, but I expect all places of business to have integrity, and in this particular case Modern Auto Body did not exemplify this. When a person or business lacks this, I tend to distance myself and discourage anyone from trusting them in the future. Do with what you wish with your car and money, but if I took the initiative to write this lengthy review, you should take caution before using their services. read more

I think these guys are indeed *capable* of professional quality work, but it appears that it's not part of their daily grind. The bodywork is acceptable after their 2nd try, and the paint work is shoddy at best. They can't blend colors like a body shop would know how to do. If you're looking for quality paintwork, stay away, because you car is going to end up bothering you every time you look at it. Yes, I can see where the paint colors don't quite match. Yes, I can see where there was a massive run in the clear and you sanded and buffed it, thinking I couldn't tell. Yes, I can see where you missed buffing it completely and it still has sanding scratches on the paint. Yes, I can see where you chipped the paint off the bumper and didn't mention it or try to touch it up. No, I don't want to bring it back because I don't want my car to have sixteen layers of paint on it fixing all the screw-ups. Lesson learned. I won't be back. read more

Recently got in a bit of a fender bender and AAA had Modern Auto Body on their list of approved shops. I saw it only had one review on here which wasn't much to go on, but it was the most convenient shop for my fiancé's parents to drop my car off at while I was on vacation so I gave it a shot. They got my car done in less than a week, everything looks perfect, AND they cleaned the interior. I was planning on washing and cleaning my car out when I got home and was pleasantly surprised to see that the floor had already been vacuumed and she was shiny and clean! I hit a deer in my 2017 Camry recently. I was fairly far from Modern Auto Body but have heard over time of their impeccable reputation as a body shop and because my car was brand new, I decided to use them. This is the first time I have personally used them for body work or paint work. I advised my insurance company I wanted to have my car towed there as it was not drive-able at all and it was the right choice. I was given constant updates on the progress of my car, was allowed to come in and see how things were going, get my personal belongings from the car and even got updated photos as the service progressed. I got my car back as good as it was before I wrecked it. If you love your car and are looking for a high quality repair shop with outstanding employees and great atmosphere. DO NOT USE THIS BODY SHOP!!!!! They are the worst! They had our vehicle for over a month, and it is still not repaired correctly. They did not fix the FRAME DAMAGE to our vehicle until we refused to take the vehicle without it being repaired. We have had to take it back 6+ times to get other items fixed after we picked it up because they did not fix it correctly to begin with. Our insurance company even told us to never go there again and that they were bring taken off the preferred shop list because they received so many complaints.
