Look no further -- this is truly the absolute best place to go for dermatology and Mohs skin cancer treatment. I don't even know where to begin. I have never been treated so well. Dr. Thosani is not only beautiful on the outside, but even more so on the inside. She has an incredible bedside manner, takes her time to thoroughly explain everything, and makes sure you understand the "why" behind the treatment plan. I was especially impressed when I needed staples in my head. I was hesitant at first, but she carefully explained why staples would be better than stitches in my case. She even drew out a diagram to show how staples would allow for better healing and hair growth compared to sutures. That level of care and attention truly went above and beyond. Everyone in the office was so kind and welcoming. The entire staff made me feel comfortable from start to finish. Her medical assistant, Gio, was absolutely fabulous as well. Dr. Thosani is knowledgeable, skilled, serious when she needs to be, yet warm and even funny -- she made the entire experience much easier than I expected. As someone who works in the medical field, I know how rare it is to find a provider who combines exceptional skill, genuine compassion, and true passion for what they do. This practice has it all wrapped into one. It may be an hour drive for me, but it is 100% worth it. I'm so glad I did my homework and found this place. They are simply off the charts amazing. I felt comfortable with Dr. Catherine Chen and Dr. Maya Thosani. I felt uncomfortable having a stranger ask for my credit card number on a recorded phone line in order to schedule the appointment. In addition, I was REQUIRED to give them my credit card number for their retention and for future use even though I paid cash for my co-pay. My first impression is that Modern Dermatology does not trust that I will come to my appointments. Here is part of their no show policy. I found Dr. Thosani with an internet search and I was so impressed with her credentials and the other patient's reviews, I immediately called to make appointment. I had a basal cell carcinoma on my nose and we had a brief consultation and then today she performed Moh's surgery. Everything was very professional, all of the staff and her assistant were very pleasant, respected me tremendously and they all make you feel very comfortable. Dr. Thosani explains every thing she is going to do, as well as while she is working. I had a very good experience, and had a great outcome today. I can wholeheartedly recommend this Modern Dermatology and Dr Thosani. She is fun, energetic and it is very apparent she loves what she does. Megan PA-C is amazing. She is kind, compassionate, and listens. I recently had a micro-needling session and Dysport to forehead and "11's" area. I was hesitant in having the Dysport because I have had it several times before in the same area with no positive results. She was very reassuring that it would lessen but not take away the deep "11's" but soften that area. Well, to my surprise within 3-4 days my forehead lines were gone and the "11's" were minimal. I am thrilled! Megan is a true professional! I absolutely trust her. I typically do not write reviews but wanted to so that others can reap the benefits Megan can provide. The staff is kind and helpful, as well. I cannot definitely recall the MA's name but I believe it was Chantelle? She was fun and made the experience fun. I have been to soooo many dermatologists in the last 10 years. Every single one of them would meet with me for less than the amount of time I waited for them. Always worried about patient numbers instead of their patient's problems. For the first time in my 10 years of going to different dermatologist in different cities, I finally found THE ONE. I arrived 20 min early as instructed. Waited and got called back less than 2 minutes after the 20 mins (technically on time). I got asked the routine questions, pictures of the area got taken, I told them how I've been dealing with my problem for years and no one has listened. The NP comes in, she sits down, ACTUALLY talks to me and listens to my problem. Explained things thoroughly and showed that she cared. I have never felt so heard by a medical professional in my life. I have been using what she prescribed as instructed. My issue has minimized so much I have not felt with good in years! I'm so happy there are still medical professionals that care about their patients. You have no idea how grateful I am! read more

Upon arriving there was no parking available. First time here. I had to circle the facility until I found a space. The do offer free valet parking. LOL. They should recommend you showing up a least 30 - 60 minutes to find a space that is walking distance to the Dr's office. Upon check-in I met the rudest receptionist I met in a long while. Once people see you're an older individual. They automatically think you can't hear or use a computer. What's worse they treat you like a child. I told her I didn't need to file out paperwork that I had already done so. She said the forms were filled out. She spoke very loudly. I'm not hard of hearing. She then showed me the iPad to fill out some financial forms. However, she just flicked the screen, and the forms were scrolling past. I am not computer illiterate. I know how to use a computer. You don't need to YELL. I canceled my appointment right there and then. I gave them 1 star because I was prompted too. I don't want to give them even 1 star. read more

My appt was 11:30am and I was called at 11:25am asking if I was on the way, which I was 2 mins away, they asked me some questions about history which I gave. I arrived at 11:29am and sat there until 12:05pm and finally asked the front desk when I would be seen - there was no one else in waiting room. Finally got seen with no acknowledgment of the wait and felt extremely rushed by Dr. Thosani she barely even looked at me then did her sales pitch of recommended items. She then had her hand on the door like she couldn't wait to leave making me feel very uncomfortable to ask any more questions. I waited 3 months to see her for 5 minutes; she did not even notice the moles on my back. It was a waste of my time. If you want someone who cares about patients, do not go see Dr. Thosani. Originally had an appt for 2 pm on 12/23/2024. Office called me at 7:32 am and said someone's flight got cancelled and could they move me to 3:10 with a different Dr. Not a problem. I called at 2 pm to confirm I would not be delayed for my 3:10. They said Dr. was on time. I showed up at 3 pm to check in and was informed they were 30 min behind. If they would have informed me of the delay I would have come at 3:40. I do not patronize offices that are not truthful. Finding another dermatologist. read more

I just saw her again today and it was the best and most educational appointment. FIVE STARS ABSOLUTELY. I have been seen by Holly Nichols for years. I use to see her at different office years ago. I was being treated for alopecia. I saw a few different doctors but she BY FAR was the best for many reasons. After some time had passed I had a flare up. I was in need of some treatments again. Sadly She was no longer at the office I use to see her at. I was determined to track her down after trying out some new providers that weren't working for me. And I was so lucky to find her again!!! When I did she gave me a hug and remembered who I was after a handful of years. She is an amazing provider. She genuinely cares and listens to your concerns. Holly makes you feel heard, and is very down to earth and comfortable to work with. I also was recently seen by Maya K. Thosani for the first time for something different. She was kind, patient and very attentive with me. You can tell she cares and it feels SO genuine. I didn't feel rushed, she addressed my worries and concerns with the kindest energy. Even the front desk gal is GEM. I adore her! Also another genuine soul. Overall the whole staff is just a breath of fresh air. That's hard to find when the whole team is amazing. What a great experience! Dr. Maya Thosani is a wonderful physician, surgeon and an especially lovely person. She came highly recommended by my family in Scottsdale and her staff was wonderful getting me an appointment for Mohs surgery, to remove a Basal Cell Carcinoma, while I was visiting. I felt so well cared for by Dr. Thosani, her medical assistant, Karen Servin and Jen LaPaglia at the front desk. Everything was well explained prior to and during the entire procedure. After completion, after-care was explained verbally and I was given written instructions that answered all those questions that just seem to pop up, after you have left the office. The incision was closed with tiny, little very neatly done stitches. And today, a month later, after following all of their instructions I am very pleased with the results! I came home to my NJ dermatologist, who knows Dr. Thosani and she could not have been more pleased and was very complementary.
