George was so professional, kind, polite, respectful, and timely, and the vehicle was exactly as described, better than we imagined, and the experience was so fun. He helped me to connect my phone playlist to the bus's Bluetooth and we were able to play music easily, have our apple cider toast, decorate with balloons and a banner, and they provided ice and water bottles for us. I've used a few driving services and nothing compares to these guys. This wasn't my first time using them but this most recent experience (getting dropped off just a few hours ago) is worthy. Modern Elite and the staff were top notch from beginning to end. The worst experience I have ever had renting vehicles. Horrid customer service and very nasty people. We rented three 55-passenger buses to transport 150 people to my daugther's wedding. The contract explicitly stated that all buses were to arrive by 345 pm and leave by 410 to travel 25 minutes to a 5 pm wedding. The first bus arrive at 4 pm. Zee was at the pickup point and supervising; I spoke to him at 4 pm and he told me everything was in order, that a bus had arrived and two more were right behind it. He lied. The other two 55 passenger buses did not arrive until 4:40 pm - way too late to get anyone to the wedding on time. Instead, a 35 passenger bus arrived at 4:25 - when there were 90 people who needed rides. Many who could not get on that bus simply called Uber, which is terribly embarrassing when you have promised your guests transportation. Next came two Suburbans - yes, they sent Suburbans instead of 55-passenger buses - the drivers didn't know where to go and had to be directed by my guests, and those occupants were running down the aisle in between the bridal party procession - this is not what we wanted. Finally, another 35 passenger bus left at around 4:45 with 7 people on board, because everyone else had given up and taken Uber. These guests sprinted through the back of the ceremony as I was about to walk my daughter down the aisle. This is not what we paid for. 150 guests should have been delivered at 430 for a 500 pm wedding. Instead, 1/3 of them arrived on time, 1/3 arrive at the last minute, and 1/3 were running down the aisle with the bridal party. I asked Zee for a partial refund, and received back a disrespectful, dishonest, dishonorable response - I was astounded. He did not apologize or own the screw-up in any way. He blamed an alleged accident on the 405 that delayed his buses an hour. But he didn't say anything to my guests about an accident when he was rudely berating them when they asked for updates on when the next bus would come. I could not find anything in the news about an accident. And besides, this company was EIGHT MILES AWAY from the pickup point, by regular road, which is why we hired them in the first place. Even if there had been an accident, it should have had no impact on us. Clearly, the buses they contracted to send us you were booked for other jobs too close in time to our event. Thus they were very late and put a damper on the beginning of the wedding, and Zee could not have been nastier or more unprofessional about the whole thing. Avoid at all costs. read more

*5 Star Service* We had a last minute need of a driver to take a group of 6 of us to SoFi Stadium for a concert and didn't want to rely on ride share services due to the crowds. I was recommended to Kahl at Modern Transportation by a good friend on Friday afternoon and received a warm response later in the evening to say he'd be able to accommodate us. Kahl picked us up right on schedule and even waited A few minutes over for us girls to finish getting ready. 20 min before we wanted to leave we texted Kahl and he said he'd be on his way. He had to fall in line with the rideshare pick-up and stayed in communication with us the whole way through. Guess what showed up the day of the wedding. The bus with the stripper pole. Driver indicated it was an "upgrade", not exactly sure how. The dispatch or owner had a different story for me. That the van we were supposed to have had mechanical issues. Makes me doubt the validity of his claim when the driver had a bit of a different story. Pretty poor performance for a wedding vendor. We hired Modern Transportation last year for our wedding at Soka University of America. Before contacting Zee, I researched many companies and received outrageous quotes. When Zee gave me the quote, he gave me the exact price and there were no surprise fees or extra charges. Our driver was Chris and he was on time and made sure all our guests arrived on time. He shuttled our guests between The Homewood Suites of Aliso Viejo and Soka University of America and made several trips as needed. He even dropped off and picked up the bridal party on various parts of campus when we were taking photos before the ceremony. Everyone at Modern Transportation is great! I planned a birthday for my wife and we thought it would be fun to rent a party bus to see the sites of LA (even though we live here). Modern Transportation was so accommodating. They gave us a great rate that was comparable if not on the low side when compared with other companies (trust me, I shopped around with 10 other vendors). But more importantly besides the price was the quality of the party bus - top notch. Now I am not expert on party buses, but after shopping around you realize, there are party buses that are cheap and basic and then there are party buses that have been upgraded and well kept - Modern Transportation's bus was the upgraded and well kept version. The interior was pristine, clean, smelled nice and it looked brand new. The seats were comfy, a cool black and white design, the lighting was amazing (yes, the floors glow and change color and you can control all of it yourself - which is a blessing and a curse when your drunk friend decides to play lighting director). Plus, they let us decorate the bus in advance, even helping me put up the decorations! We got the 22 person party bus, we had 20 people in the bus and the seating was "cozy" but comfortable - however we also had several coolers with drinks that we placed on a couple of the seats, so that took up space - so yes the 22 person bus does fit 22 if you don't have coolers. However since it is a party bus, you will most likely have coolers and unfortunately there is no great place to put the coolers without taking up seat space. The built in drink area behind the seats are not very convenient if you want to be mixing drinks, they could work for just tossing some beer and ice in the larger containers back there, but even the larger containers would only fit 5-6 beers with ice, so again, you probably need a cooler. The built in drink area is mainly good for storing cups, napkins, possibly a couple bottles of wine for easy access but not great for setting up a full on bar with mixers. This bus does have cup holders below the windows between the window and the back of the seat, which are very convenient and a nice touch. Really the only small negative I would give them is our driver had some issues with the GPS on his phone, so we ended up going about 20 minutes out of our way before getting back on course. Not a huge deal, but it did waste part of our night and we ended up going up a very windy road when we didn't have to which made some of our guests a little car sick. Other than that, I would strongly recommend Modern Transportation. They are nice people, helpful, they respond to calls and emails quickly and their party bus is great quality. read more

I could not say a negative thing about Modern Transportation! I called many companies for a bus for 18 adults on a Saturday night. Zee was so easy to talk to and extremely friendly. When I called, I think he was making dinner for his boys (sorry for calling at dinner time!) so he asked to call me back in 20, and called me back in 10. It was such easy and open communication! He emailed me the contract and I text him back saying he would have it the next day. Zee was available to talk via phone, email and text which I love. The night of our event, I wasn't checking my emails. Note to self: check your emails because Modern Transportation keeps you very up to date! Our driver, Cal, was running 2 minutes late (who cares!) and if I would have checked my email I would have known he was on the way and not stressed! Now for our driver, Cal -- he was fantastic! So incredibly professional! He wore a suit which made us feel like we were pretty fancy. I printed a map for him of all the stops (7 to be exact) and he plugged them into his phone and we were off! He was such a great driver and was always available when we wanted to get back on the bus. One of the spots we went had a small parking lot, so he asked I call him when we were ready and he was there a minute after I called. We had such a great night and I would HIGHLY recommend Modern Transportation again!!! ps. there pricing is very competitive!
