We had a very positive experience at this laundromat. We came in at 630pm knowing the laundromat closed at 8p but desperately needing to do laundry after a week of traveling. They were kind enough to let us start our load knowing we would be pushing it right up until closing time. We did manage to finish drying our clothes by about 755pm and were out of the building by 8p. I very much appreciated that both washers and dryers were available that took contactless payment so we could skip the endless dropping of quarters into machines. They had dozens of washers and dryers so this is a large laundromat with a wonderful view of lake havasu as the sun set. There is even a little outside sitting area in the back with the great view. The real star however was the on duty manager, Shireen. She not only was welcoming and answered our questions but helped us get started. While we washed Shireen did more work than any person I've seen in some time. As closing time neared she not only finished folding several loads of laundry she was being paid to do but did so while handling a call from her son at home dealing with a small crisis. Crisis averted and as closing time neared, Shireen dutifully went around to all of the 20+ washers wiping down the rubber collar in each and setting the doors slightly ajar so people would know they were available when they came in the next day. She then mopped the floor of the entire establishment and finished by literally dusting the top and sides of every machine. Other reviews have noted how clean this laundromat appears and it's no joke and looks that way because someone is putting in tremendous effort to make it that way. I don't know who owns Modern Laundromat in Lake Havasu City but they have a superb employee in Shireen who takes her work seriously and makes sure the business is ready to open the next day. We are glad we chose this laundromat. read more

Very rude, unprofessional, unknowledgeable, and unintelligent attendant. Gives poor advice about washing California King bedspread. The attendant told me to put it in a double washer and told me the more packed it is the better the wash because of the "friction". I thought this is a bunch of baloney. So I walked away. When I pulled the bedspread out of the washer, after it supposedly washed, it was filthy dirty and I showed the rude attendant. She said, well, did you pre-treat it. I said, of course I pre-treated it. We had paid to have it washed! Now I have to find a bigger washer and wash it again. The pillow shams were even still stuck together. It had no way to unfold itself to get washed. So her friction idea does not work because packing it in does not give enough space to cause friction when packed. Now I had to wait 20 minutes for a larger capacity washing machine! I put it in the bigger washing machine and it came out really nice. But at that big washing machine I ended up having to pay $16 instead of $8 because the machine did not take my first $8! In a most disagreeable manner, the rude attendant told me she didn't know why I was having so much trouble. 3 of her machines. that we did try did not work. If that is not enough, when I was trying to do my wash, she came down with the push mop doing the floors and expected me to move out of her way. Does she not know how to treat customers? You never move a customer so that you can sweep! She did a pitiful job sweeping! Go back and sweep after the customer moves. Very rude and unprofessional service. Definitely doesn't need to be in the people business. So, instead of being there a little less than 2 hours to do my bedspread. I'd ended up being there 4 hours to do 1 California king size bedspread and spending double the money!!!! read more

I came here because the ratings seemed good. NEVER AGAIN. The woman in charge did nothing but boss people around, telling us which washers to use and basically telling us that we couldn't step outside the building once our loads were started. She complained about people coming in at 6pm to do their laundry. She made us feel so uncomfortable that I actually wanted to leave. Unfortunately, we needed clean clothes. I have been coming here for the past year as the people used to be very friendly and the place used to be clean. But since they had the flooring redone, there's glue over the floors, I have had the bottom of my shoes covered in glue. There's also one lady that seems to be the only person that I see now that works here, older with glasses not sure name could be Karen or Kathy. But anyway she started making comments to me which seemed to be Everytime I came to do laundry that I always park in handicap spot, well I am disabled and yes I have a proper placarded plate, so that's where I always park. After which seemed like 4-5 weeks, I finally said to her. "Gee your really obsessed with where I park aren't you?" And she said no, I just noticed that's where you park. After that she's been very stand offensive, and I did go to another laundry mat, on N Kiowa. I must say very very clean, cheaper than here. I was going there today but only thing is their machines don't take cards and I wanted to use my credit card, so I came here although there weren't any available. I stayed anyhow and I was wanting change for a $20. Rang bell when she came to help me I also asked if she had a quarter for one I had given her in the past for what I got out of their change machine that was all bent and wouldn't work but she had told me she didn't have any that day. She did give me a quarter, then told me I owed her a dollar from a long time ago, I told her no I didn't. She insisted I did, which I again said no, that she had put credit back in machine I used that did not give me proper credit from my card I used. All I can say is I don't need to give this place my business anymore, I don't need attitude from someone, this place isn't that clean anymore since she's been here. This used to be my favorite Laundromat in the country. I just can't recommend it anymore. After getting all of my laundry loaded, I kept getting offline error when trying to pay with my card. Since I had no cash, I had to take everything back out and leave, losing the soap I added to the machine. When asking the owner about the issue, he stated it had been happening for about an hour and he said the area was sometimes a black hole for Internet. If that's the case, I could have been told that before loading all of my laundry. It's definitely not living up to its name. If they want to be "modern" and rely on the Internet to accept payments, they should get Starlink Internet or at least warn customers that are coming in with laundry that they are having technical issues. read more

This business is run by Kat & her husband-only met Kat but as a former wedding planner she knows what customer service is all about. She pointed out the extra large washers & dryers for our sheets & towels-they all fit in one of them! Just awesome. There are even larger washers available for comforters, pillows, boat covers, etc! We did the equivalent of 12 loads of laundry in 3 washers & 2 dryers...and in an hour and a half. In my RV washer dryer this amount would have taken days to do it (we haven't been connected to sewer for the last 2 weeks so no laundry being done in the RV)! I highly recommend this business-save yourself time, money and you get to visit with Kat-she is so, so friendly and really wants your experience there to be perfect! read more

This is an impeccably clean and up to date laundromat but I won't be back. I walked in without my laundry to see if they had the kind of scent free soap I wanted. The woman at the counter got a kind of alarmed look and followed me out of the office to keep an eye on me. That was a bit unsettling but she didn't know who I was. I came back and walked in with a quite new and quite clean but a bit damp sleeping bag and put it on table - and was asked to put it on a cart so it wouldn't get the table dirty. (Really! They don't want clothes to get their tables dirty! Was this a laundromat or a museum?) It had been raining and I'd been camping and had a bit of dirt on my shoes. Next I was literally followed around by someone with dust pan sweeping up the bits of dirt that fell to the floor. As I was working with a machine she continued doing that - right at my feet! So much for making their customers feel at home. They don't allow their carts out the door... They did, thankfully, have signs on the door telling customers to wear masks. Unfortunately, there was requirement to wear them properly. One of the staff left her nose uncovered. Since she could easily be blowing virus to quite a few people (18% positivity rate in the county right now - one of the highest in the country) I noted to her that the mask should really cover her nose. She said she knew that but preferred to wear it that way. It's a clean, modern laundromat. I imagine they have the best machines in the city - but I prefer being comfortable, doing my laundry in laundromats where I'm not asked to keep stuff off the tables for fear of getting them dirty, and where someone doesn't follow me around with dustpan. Give me an old beaten up laundromat any day over that. Even in laundromats customer relations count for something. read more

The prettiest laundromat that I have visited yet. My partner and I travel full-time in our RV and frequent laundromats unfortunately. This one has a patio out front and a patio with seating area outback that overlooks lake Havasu! The inside of the building is very clean, machines are clean, and lots of lighting. At the time I visited there were three employees cleaning, folding laundry, and manning the desk. They kept to themselves but I also notice I'm keeping an eye on everyone else. Dryer start at $.25 and a dollar get you 28 minutes. Right next to a Dominos so you can have a little snack while you wait and look at the water! Oh, also they seem pretty strict unlike the rest of Lake Havasu about wearing a mask and social distancing. Signs everywhere. read more

I needed to exchange my coins to get quarters and the woman behind the service desk was unfriendly and rude! As I was counting my change out and it totaled out to $5.00, and asked her just to give me a $5.00 bill cuz apparently she didn't have enough quarters to give me. As I approached the machine I was using! I seen her mimic with her lips $5.00 with a sad face. Very inappropriate behavior for an adult woman to be acting childish in a customer service position!!!! They are helpful and they go around wiping out machines after uses and were sweeping the floor up and providing all customers with great service as they went around cleaning. They had different sizes of washers. I appreciated the tap and pay ones. There were other options though. Best laundromat experience I've ever had!
