I have spent the years since Covid struggling to find a place to get my haircut that does a good job, has a nice environment, and treats their customers well -but it seems that I have finally found it! Modern Male does a good job of capturing the 'male spa' experience without feeling forced or pretentious and they offer a wider array of services than their peers. While I haven't yet sampled any of the their other offerings, I have been returning to the same stylist (Courtney) for a haircut/ scalp treatment for the better part of a year so far and couldn't be happier. Truth be told, I'm not sure what the value of the scalp treatments is - or if I need it, but it's a really relaxing massage at the very least! Everyone in the salon is extremely pleasant and engaging, and the space is cozy, clean, and has a good energy about it. They don't have their own parking, but there is a large lot nearby and I've never really had any issue finding a spot. I intend to avail myself of their other services in the future, so I may edit at some point, but this place is aces in my book! read more

Husband had a horrible experience. Clippers kept pulling hair out. He was looking for a razor shave for his head as he goes with the bald look, they don't offer straight blade. He wanted a beard trim they messed up his beard and took it down a lot. It's expensive and he could have just buzzed his head at home. He said it actually hurt to have his beard trimmed. The place is clean but clearly don't know what they are doing. Save the money do it yourself or go to a barber shop. read more

So glad I found this hidden gem! All the other barber shops surrounding this one was all booked and the staff was rude at other salons EXCEPT for this one! I came in and immediately was greeted. Offered me drinks immediately after check-in and then I had my haircut with Melissa. She is really the best! Very kind, understanding and followed my picture with every detail! Probably one of the only hair stylist that could actually cut hair correctly, and quick! Definitely recommend this salon to everyone. Only thing is that it's a bit pricey, but I don't get haircuts often anyways so it's not a big deal! read more

The staff, particularly Christopher, are friendly and knowledgable without being pushy. Haircuts from here usually last 1-2 weeks longer than from other places. Modern Male has my business forever! The nice lady at the reception desk was happy to answer my questions and they took me to what has to be the best waiting area I've ever seen. When I got my haircut we talked about what I wanted first then Abby told me what she was going to do as she did it. When the haircut was done I got a thorough neck shave and a free sample of hair product to try at home. The folks here are happy to be working at Modern Male and that says a lot. They are professionals at men's grooming and I cannot recommend them enough. I am in town for a couple months due to work. I found Modern Male via Google and went out on a limb and made a appointment. I couldn't have found a better place to get my haircut. The whole staff was friendly and very polite. They made me feel as if I had been a long term customer. My appointment was with Amanda and she did a AMAZING job. She was friendly and professional and made me feel very comfortable. Not to mention she gave me the best haircut I have ever had!! I liked it so much I made another appointment before I left. Made appointment in June for a $65 pedicure. When the nail tech learned I only wanted clipped and filed, she gave me a $25 "basic pedicure". Called in August to make appointment for another basic pedicure. When it was done, I was told that I owed $65. When I politely said there must be some mistake, they brought out a woman who appeared to be an owner. She told me they didn't offer and never have offered a basic pedicure. When I brought up the $25 I had paid just two months earlier, she told me that the nail tech had made a mistake. I guess that also applies to the person who rang up the $25 bill in June and the person who took my call for the August appointment. Wow! Three employees willing to risk their jobs to give an unauthorized special deal to someone they'd never met before. Since that strikes me as highly unlikely, I can only conclude that the owner/manager-type woman was lying to me. To be clear, I was initially prepared to pay the full $65, and the service I received both times was excellent, but I have a serious problem with companies that lie to their customers. read more

I've been going here since Brenda opened the place. I've had my hair cut by every single one of her stylists and never worry about who is cutting my hair the next time because Brenda is VERY meticulous about who she hires. I am always treated fantastically and they are always very accommodating to my schedule. It's a great place and I am glad that I found it so many years ago. Overall experience good. However just a few call outs was I waited and i didn't get called back for 15 minutes after my time that was booked. I also really really think how they check people out needs to be changed they have you walk out people are right at your back and the lady at the front says would you like to tip! As my previous review stated I was a little dissatisfied with my last visit. After I had a chance to regroup, I contacted the salon to explain my debacle. I was encouraged to come back in the salon to have my haircut assessed by one of the senior stylists and see if there was something that could be done to correct the cut. I went in within the next couple of days and saw Justin. Although I was very skeptical, Justin took the time to understand what I was trying to do with my hair, made a few adjustments to my cut and offered to cut my hair again on my next visit to ensure I was satisfied. I have since been back and was completely satisfied with my haircut. Regardless of the miscommunication on the first haircut, I have been retained as a customer. I feel like the salon went over and above what was needed to make things right with regards to me being dissatisfied with my first cut. read more

Not worth the money. The services are at most average, nothing over the top. There are better options available if u r not restricted to this area. New to town and found Modern Male on Yelp. Staff was super friendly both on the phone taking a same appointment (on a Monday) and in-person. I received a manicure from Jordan. She did a great job and was a pleasure to talk to. I booked a "clean up" haircut for the following day. I really wanted to get a facial too, but Jordan wasn't scheduled to work. On my way home, they called to let me know Jordan would in for the facial so I could get everything done in 1 trip. Totally not expected, but greatly appreciated. The facial was just what my skin needed to fight the winter weather. Afterwards, Kerry (sp?) trimmed my hair in between cuts and styled it perfectly. The facility is high end but not ridiculously priced (though higher than standard barbers). The staff was friendly and accommodating and my stylist (Amanda) did an excellent job. If you need a massage, go see Sarah. I met the ladies of Modern Male at a health and fitness expo and loved the concept of a place that caters to men. After receiving the free mini facial, I saw two ladies giving chair massages. By watching them you could tell they were experienced and knew what they were doing. Everyone that got up from the chair afterwards seemed pleased with the five minutes of relief they received. I had only had one massage in my life and it was a total disaster. I told myself I would never let anyone else massage me again, untilllll I met Sarah. She looked as if she really enjoyed her job and was having a great time showing people her skills. I was immediately drawn to her in so many ways, I'm not even about to embarrass myself telling you. So, of course I had to find out for myself If it was as relaxing as everyone made it seem for five minutes, and it was. Needless to say, I ended up making an appointment for a session at their office. Fast forward two weeks later to appointment day: When I walked in, I was greeted by my first name as if they knew me forever, I was offered refreshments and a comfortable seat in the lounge area. When it came time for my massage, Sarah, explained how everything worked and addressed any concerns and questions. By the end of the session, I felt very relaxed and stress free. So, again, if you need a massage, Modern Male is the place to be. They offer several other services as well. Yeah, I know I said I would never get a massage again, but why you bringing up old stuff?? This place is very cool! Really great concept. I've been coming here for about 5 years now and will not go anywhere else; officially hooked. It's a more relaxed environment than your typical spa. Like you can have a beer while you're getting your hair cut... Pretty awesome. I would also recommend taking advantage of the other spa treatments they offer. I got a massage that was pretty stellar.
