Worst pedicure ever! I have short nail beds. Asked tech not to cut my nails short because it causes ingrown nails. She ignored me and cut half of each nail down. When she went to cut my big toe nail, I again said not short. I will never go back! read more

Just walked in for a gel manicure and was able to be seen immediately. No idea what to except as I was in from out of town visiting. All I can say is that I was thoroughly impressed by EVERYTHING! The staff was friendly, place was clean, manicure service and polish was perfection AND you get a bonus back,neck and arm massage with hot towel at the end of the service. I saw Jessi she was sweet and did an excellent work! The nail techs that weren't busy with guests were deep cleaning everything nail stations, polish bottles, and pedicure chairs. I didn't think much of this place when I first walked in but I just had a great mani pedi. I don't think I've ever paid $35 before tips for a mani pedi. Lol. I thought the place was clean but it could do with a bit more freshening up. The wait was long so it was a bit frustrating. However they were sweet about it and tried to do their best to keep me occupied soaking my legs while taking care of others. I got a great shoulder massage too, so I'm not complaining. If they hired a couple of more staff and livened up the place a bit, it could be a whole different experience. Most of the staff here are kind, attentive and excellent at what they do -- keyword, most. I was unlucky enough to have a woman work on my nails who was silent and terrible at her job. I don't know her name, but (so you can avoid her on your own visit) she was a Latina woman and had no idea of how to shape or file my nails. After going to the salon to treat myself to a relaxing afternoon, I was upset when I saw how poorly my first hand looked after being filed: my ring fingernail was too short and the rest of my fingernails were too long. The 'oval' shape I requested looked pointy and uneven, with too much of my nails missing on the sides from the clippers. I'm not a professional, but even I could have filed my nails better than this! As a result, I had to ask the woman working beside her if she could please fix my nails, which she agreed to immediately. Afterward, my nails looked beautiful and glamorous, and I was happy with the end result. This kind woman who fixed the mess left of my nails makes me give Modern Nails 2 stars. I just went here for a manicure and the service and prices are excellent. I love Modern Nails & Spa. First off, the salon is great because it's not overly crowded. Sometimes nail salons are extremely crowded and too busy for them to do a great job on your nails. But this salon isn't too crowded at all. Second, Modern Nails is excellent because it doesn't reek of nail polish remover. For some reason, when going into local salons, it has a very pungent smell almost like remover. Modern Nails actually does not have any strong smell inside and you can sit there without wanting to gag! Finally, the prices for what you get is incredible. Everybody who works at Modern Nails is very nice and really does a great, thorough job for manicures and pedicures. They take their time with you and do an efficient job. They give massages for both manis and pedis, and someone works there who gives you a massage after your nails are done. Manicures are only about 11 or 12 dollars, and for how well they do, it's a steal. Go here to get your nails done! You won't regret it. It's a great experience at a modern, friendly salon. read more

This has become not only my go-to place for mani/pedis but it is also the place I ALWAYS recommend to everyone. I almost never have to wait and if I do its only for 10 minutes at the most. The ladies take their time on the pedicures to do a good job and give you a nice foot/calf massage in the process. The same service goes into the manicure and they give you a shoulder massage as a little bonus. The atmosphere is pleasant and the women are very sweet. I've seen women mess up their nails after leaving and come back in and they fix their nails, no questions asked! For this price you could not ask for better service! Monday-Wednesday they have a discounted rate for mani/pedis and they have a tendency to get busier after lunch those days. read more

This place seems like they may do a nice job on nails. However, I would not know because I sat there for half an hour waiting for a pedicure then walked out. I know nail salons get busy, which is why I called ahead. They suggested I come at a specific time and even took my name. When I arrived at the time they suggested, they told me to pick a color and then drew up a foot soak fro me. That's when I noticed there were three other customers doing the same thing. They had only 5 manicurists working which were all tied up with other customers, not almost done!! I would have been there for at least an hour before getting seen. Look, I have no problem that their business is thriving. Modern Nails should have more respect for their customers time. Don't tell someone to come at a later time, then ignore them for half hour, and act shocked when they walk out. When a customer arrives and the salon is full say so, many of us are very busy people and will make a point to come back later or the next day. I for one will not be returning. There are too many other salons to choose from in the area that are more honest about wait times. read more

People seem to like this salon, so I'm kind of sad I had a bad experience there. I was in a wedding, so I wanted to get a quick mani-pedi. I couldn't get a full pedicure due to having had previous foot surgery and not wanting to soak my incision site, and explaining that to the person working with me was difficult. Eventually I was able to just get my toes painted. The manicure was good, but the woman working with me was not very pleasant. She seemed very annoyed that I wanted it fixed when one of my nails smudged when I put my hands in the dryer. I understand they were fairly busy, but geez, I'm still a paying customer! I wanted to like this place, but unfortunately I wasn't sold. Maybe if there weren't a lot of other nail salons in the area with nicer people, I'd go back, but most likely I will not be. read more

I love coming here Sunday morning when they first open. It's quiet and peaceful. The salon is very clean. It doesnt look luxurious or pretentious but they do a great job. A great local salon, with the absolute nicest staff. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon and were able to start our pedicures right away. They were efficient but thorough in both the pedicure and manicure I received, with a really nice lower leg massage (including a hot stone rub!) during the pedicure, a shoulder massage as my nails dried, and a hand massage before the manicure. The salon was also meticulously clean, airy, and didn't smell at all like polish or remover. Three days later, my nails still look gorgeous. The pedicure is heavenly and my nails always look great even days after. They massage your legs and feet forever and the manicure comes with a great massage as well. The hot stones feel fantastic and the shoulder massage while my nails dry is such a great addition. Also, you don't have to listen to the girls banter across the salon like many places in the area. Very quiet, very relaxing. Some people mentioned that the mani was rushed because of the special. I recommend going later in the day or after work. I wrote in my last review , based on some bad experiences, that I was not sure if I give this place another chance, given that there are not many choices of nail salons in the area that provide good manicure/ pedicure services. So I did go back. And things were going ok, until the final straw this past week. I will NEVER go back , in fact, I am considering further action with this salon. Four of us were getting our nails done when my daughter in law was holding the bottle of polish in her hand that she selected and the bottle just burst in the palm of her hand. The glass went into her skin and the polish covered her hand.The reaction of the man ( I don't know if he is the owner) who is always there was unbelievable. He came with a towel and polish remover and started rubbing the glass into her palm until she told him not to touch her because he is just rubbing the glass pieces into her palm. He did not say anything, like I'm sorry this happened, just stared. And just continued to stand and stare without a word as we cleaned up this mess.And, did not even offer to give her a complimentary manicure ! The lack of any customer service attitude is appaling at this salon! I guess they will continue to exhibit this type of poor service as long as they continue to get customers. So all four of us decided never to come back here. As I write this, We are still finding little glass shards in my daughter in law's palm. read more

Everyone seems to be saying pleasant things about this place. My experience was otherwise! I have given them 3 tries and each time I get so mad at myself for going back there again. Although the place was clean and super fast, they do such a crappy job with French mani- padi! I am not sure if the white nail polish is old or a cheap one, but it comes off after 1 shower! Sometimes the white portion is so uneven one is circle, one is square and then one is thick one is skinny! I have had to go back 2 times to get it to look decent! Staff would fix it, but they seem unpleasant and pissed and they make the experience very unpleasant! I would not go back there at all and would not recommend it to anyone. This isn't a Salon, it's Heaven. You won't believe the treatment you get there. They play soothing music and the atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing. The pedicure is meticulous and thorough, like I've never had before. There's no rush unless you ask for one. They massage your legs for at least 10 minutes probably more. The manicurist is amazing, she's perfect and so is the manicure. Then, just when you think it can't get any better than this, this great looking, strong guy comes up behind you and gives you a back and arm massage. They you use hot rocks!
