I've put off writing this for a while because I live nearby and didn't want to cause tension if I ever had to go back. But after my most recent visit, I feel like I need to be honest. My last nail appointment with Ivy was awful. She was dismissive and rude, leaving me feeling like I had done something wrong just by coming in. The nails themselves were poorly done--thick, uneven, and they broke within 10 days. This was on top of a previous incident when the owner literally chased me down the street because her Venmo wasn't working for a tip. It has been one problem after another, but I kept giving them chances. I tip generously and have spent a lot of money there, but after being treated so poorly, I'm done. There's another salon just two minutes up the road--Google it. You'll have a much better experience. read more

Errrr, not sure where to begin with this one. I always drove past this salon since it's near my house and never stopped by because it looked expensive $$$. Finally decided to treat myself and try a new salon and I was a bit disappointed. It was $45 for a gel manicure but they charged me $5 extra since I wanted a different color on each finger. So I paid $50 total for a gel manicure that was alright. It's not as great as it could've been, they could've spent more time prepping my nails and my cuticles. On my left hand, they forgot to put a second coat on my pinkie (the blue) and so it was left looking a little transparent and I could see my natural nail peeking through which I was not a fan of. My aunt who is a nail tech said I could have easily done this myself. Overall, it's a nice salon and it is very clean and calming atmosphere inside, but not really worth your money. I will not be going back here again but it was an experience to have. read more

Just had a lovely relaxing pedicure at LOVE Nails in the Newark, DE shopping center. Everyone was very warm and welcoming and attentive making sure the water was a good temperature, did I like the color, etc. The technician who completed my pedicure was very sweet and apologized for being a little slow. I did not think she was slow at all, just careful and wanted to do a great job which she did. The young boy who 'works' there was absolutely adorable as he brought me the book with all the nail colors and offered me a cold beverage. SO CUTE! I got a full spa gel pedicure for only 45.00! I have been going to Love nails since it opened. I highly recommend this location and find them to be extremely professional. Pricing is totally standard for what you would expect based on the stores location and I have never been disappointed or felt uncomfortable in there like I sometimes feel after other experiences. Spent the morning here getting pedicures and manicures for a bridal party. I booked the appointment for 4 pedis and 6 manis over a week in advance. The experience was underwhelming and not positive compared to feedback I had gotten from former customers. We had scheduled an appointment at 10 am on a Thursday- not a typically busy day or time or the week. The techs were a bit pushy for us (6 people total) to get all of our colors picked out when we walked in the door. Only 3 people were being helped at once, which wasn't a problem, but we felt very rushed the entire time. Once we had moved from pedis to manicures a few other customers had come in to get their nails done. From the moment these other customers came the atmosphere changed from relaxed to stressful/rushed since the techs wanted to get moving to the next customers. One member of our party didn't get her acrylic nails shaped nicely and they were left very long. One person didn't get her nails filed evenly and no massage at the end of her mani. I personally had my manicure rushed and the tech insisted my pedi was dry and shoved my shoes in front of me to put them on- I took my shoes off no more than 2 mins later to discover the polish had smudged/chipped. Based on this experience and experience with other nail salons in the Paoli/West Chester and greater Chester County I won't be returning to LOVE nails. read more

I pretty regularly go to LOVE Nails for a gel manicure and pedicure and always leave happy with the end result. The salon is nicely decorated and clean. I would recommend calling ahead for your appointment (even if you want to come in the same day) because it can get busy and they are good about protecting appointment times. Pros and cons like every place. My overall impression wasn't good enough to the point where I'll come back unless I am in a pinch. Pros: I came within an hour of closing (they are open until 7:30 which I appreciate) for a manicure and they graciously accepted me. Also, my nails were in a disastrous state and they look better now. Nail state went from a 2 to a 6/10. Nice interior decor as well. Cons: My manicurist was not particularly friendly nor did she do a terribly good job. Also, she charged a $5 tip when I told her $4. A tip is for good service - I did not receive that and the fact that she blatantly did not listen to me was incredibly offputting. I would have had a much better overall experience with a different manicurist most likely. Again, I personally won't be coming back, but there are worse places out there. read more

This is the WORST nail salon I have ever been to. I came in simply to have my dip removed and to have a manicure without color as I like to let my nails breathe and heal from time to time. I was a walk in and asked to wait, no big deal. Shortly after I sat down, a mother and daughter who were also walk ins came in and were seated. One nail tech corrected the mistake and pointed out I had been waiting first. I was taken instead, wrapped for my dip to soak, and then my tech walked away and began not one but two manicures on the mother/daughter walk ins. I had to ask another tech to please complete my service, which she did hastily. I was then charged 32 dollars. This was the first time in my life I have never tipped for a service. I just happened to be visiting the area but Ivy was incredibly sweet and easy to talk to and she took care of everything I needed without a problem ~ it was like I never left home (I live in an area where there's a nail shop in every plaza) ~ the shop was really clean and had a great ambience. The best nail salon I have ever been to. Bright and spacious. The staff are virtuous and know what they are doing. My sister and I had my nails done here about a month ago. I liked that the chairs we sat in had the massage option. We missed the happy hour but it is 12-5 on weekends from what I remember. You can get a couple of glasses of wine free while getting your nails done. The pedicure they did lasted a little longer than mist pedicures I get. When I went in LOVE Nails for a mani/pedi for graduation the staff was rude and not accommodating. They acted short and annoyed that myself and my group had even come in. There was a customer there in a power wheelchair who wanted to get a pedicure. The staff refused to do it because she could not get into the pedicure chairs. She suggested she sit on the side of the pedicure water tub and hang her legs in but the staff rudely denied her request. My group was rushed, some not getting their nails soaked or anything. I will never be returning here for any service again. Very poor customer service. read more

This is a very nice nail salon right in the Malvern Borough. I went after work today with a friend and we both got gel manicures. The girl who did my nails (I forgot to get her name!) was pleasant, and she really took her time doing my nails. She was very meticulous, and I love that. The best part is the hot wrap you get on your shoulders with a massage while your nails are curing under the UV light. I have been to many nail salons over the years and LOVE Nails & Spa blows every other nail salon out of the water. Here's the difference: The Owner: Ivy is adorable, kind, and fun! She is the most talented nail stylist that I have met over the years by leaps and bounds. She creates beautiful designs, and will take any picture that you like and re-create it! I have never experienced that before with any other nail stylist. The Salon: Ivy knows how to create a wonderful atmosphere and experience for her guests. She created a salon that is decorated to the nines. She has marble nail stations, beautiful pedicure chairs and a sleek and clean lay out for all of her nail products. Everything is clean and organized. The salon even uses sterile nail tools for each and every client. The Stylists: All of her stylists are kind, talented and hard working. You can tell that they are happy at Ivy's salon and you can see it in their work. Each stylist not only has talent, but truly connects with each customer but asking about their life and family. This place has gone downhill since I was here last. (Which is approximately 2 years ago.) First, everyone is completely unfriendly and unwelcoming. No smiling faces to greet me, no hello, just a grumpy "pick color." I could tolerate all this if they actually did a decent job. I came in for a gel manicure and was assisted right away. Unfortunately, the girl did not do a great job on the cuticles, there was no hand massage and everything was rushed. I did get an awkward shoulder massage with a heating pad that lasted for about 1 minute. Paid $28 plus tip and I just don't think it was worth half that. I observed two separate women who had appointments be asked to wait when they arrived. They were not pleased with this given they had made appointments but staff seemed to be indifferent. read more

The place is very clean and everyone is friendly especially the owners. It is a family affair. I usually make an appointment because chances are they could be booked with other appointments. The manger of the salon is one of the rudest people I have ever come in contact with. He kept looking me up and down with a look of disgust. I said, "is there a problem?" I then tried to make polite conversation with my manicurist and received nothing but one word, curt answers. My nails were streaky and not well done.
