They told us to "add extra to the height and width" for a standard 3.5" x 2" card -- but gave no clear explanation, no clear specific dimensions. How are non-designers supposed to know what that means? Worse yet, there was no warning during the order process. Any decent printer would at least flag issues like this before running the job. When we reached out for support, they refused to offer a refund or even a reprint -- despite the cards being unusable and the fault lying in their failure to provide clear, accessible guidance. We're now stuck with a full batch of poorly trimmed business cards that reflect badly on our company. I would not recommend Digital Lizard to anyone -- especially not small businesses or individuals without print design experience. They offer no help, no accountability, and no customer service when things go wrong.

That's where I went wrong, but where Mike at CDA Computer Repairs did right. These two towers are our primary systems. One has ALL of our pictures, that's over 20 years of memories. All of our kids pictures. Everything. So, it's imperative we get them running. Mike knew just what to do and jumped all over it. He had them done by the end of the day and was in contact with me for everything. He charges a very, very, competitive shop rate of $65 an hour, and even charges by the half hour which is something I've never seen a shop do. It's really great customer service! Something I admire, and is a "good to know" about how he runs his business, he is out of the door at closing. That's it. All calls go to voicemail and texts get read in the morning. Home is home and business is business. I admire that, a lot. Additionally, he takes recyclables. I dropped off an old Dell, and a network switch I had from my shop, and he took them in to refurbish. I'd rather see them go to his bottom line than see them in a land fill.

However, both the company and Best Buy wanted to take it for at least a week without a loaner. I can't afford that computing loss. I ordered a fan directly, replaced it, but couldn't get the tiny plug to connect. I called a couple of companies close to me to find out if they could work right away. One said no, I could only drop off. Another gave me initial info, but then didn't respond when I had the fan. These folks are a bit more expensive but were always very responsive. I'm willing to pay for professionalism. I took it over and they found the fan's connector was cheap and had partially split. They were still able to get it connected and working, saving me the cost of yet another fan. They are friendly, knowledgeable and worth the money. FYI, they've merged with another company and you'll find them as NCSi on some sites.

Not knowing where to go, I tried Hughes Computer Services. I've worked with Janet, Al and Charles over the past week. My computer was really messed up and wasn't backing up to my external drive, even though it said it was. They restored my laptop and my key files. Not all my files were recoverable--I'm confident they would have recovered them if they could. They spent hours on my computer and on recovery efforts and kept me updated through the process. I'm impressed by their expertise, communication and customer service. And, I learned not to trust one back up option. I'll be using two different back-up methods going forward.
