I've been using Modern Pest Control since the latter part of July, 2025, and the experience has been consistently disappointing. The technician assigned to my home, August, has come out multiple times to address ongoing sugar ant issues and to check for possible rodent activity. Despite repeated visits, nothing has improved. Each visit lasts about five minutes. There's no visible inspection, no explanation of what's being done, and no meaningful follow‑through. For the sugar ants specifically, I was told they would "die off in a few days," yet the ants continue to flourish in the bathroom and bedroom. After four months of monthly service, I would expect at least some progress, but the infestation is unchanged. I also requested an attic inspection to check for signs of rodents, and was told it wasn't necessary. Every reputable pest‑control source I've checked says attic inspections are standard practice, so this refusal was concerning. Communication has also declined. The first couple of times I reached out about the ant problem, the company responded quickly -- but the treatments weren't effective. The most recent time I texted them, I received no response at all. I hope Sean, the owner, takes this feedback seriously. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Modern Pest Control. read more

He was very knowledgeable and helped us understand the behavior of the specific type of wasp in spring so we could make the best decision. After moving to Graham, with a farm on one side of our property and a field/green belt on the other... we one day discovered that we had field mice gaining access to our garage. After a ton of research I decided to give Modern Pest Control a call and I spoke to Sean for about 15 minutes about our issue. He assured me that they could handle our situation no problem and was quick to get me on the schedule. Pricing initially seemed high but for the level of service and the quality of work it's worth every flipping penny. Technician August came out to assess the property and did a stellar job identifying where they were gaining access. He put down some bait traps all while explaining what and why he was doing what he was doing. Over the next 30 days these mice were chowing down on the bait and they slowly stopped appearing. After the 30 days, Technician Brenden came out to assess and repair the access point where they had initially been coming into the garage. He also removed some mice carcasses from around the property. Both young men were professional, kind, helpful, and full of interesting knowledge about pests. All in all... I'm a happy customer with no mice =D I would use this service time and time again! read more

We just realized the hard way that my husband is allergic to bees/wasps, and had to take and impromptu trip to the ER. That being said, we were looking for immediate pest control. After much research, I found Modern pest control and contacted them for a quote. Sean contacted me within 5 minutes of my leaving a message and was even able to give me a quote over the phone. Wasps had taken over the yard! I am usually DILIGENT in keeping them at bay & catching the nests when they are small as I am allergic & we are BOTH disabled. Unfortunately I fell behind. All of a sudden there are wasps nest EVERYWHERE! Even in the cat hangout! Can't do ANYTHING in the yard without getting swarmed or DIVEBOMED! Over 30 different nests & several types of wasps. Even a LARGE one over my back DOOR! Looked for pest control who could come immediately since the fam & babies were coming for the game Saturday @4pm. After several high quotes & a lot of frustration, I called modern pest control. Spoke with sean who was remarkably attentive,cordial & ready to help! Scheduled the appointment between 2-3 with a guy august. Got a prompt text to let me know august was on his way @2:14. This man took his time walking with me through the entire 1/2 acre knocked down & sprayed every single nest while identifying & informing me of each species & their habits, the safety of the chemicals they used, future prevention, etc. was even informative on OTHER topics! A very precise, timely, manner full, attentive, prompt, efficient & thorough young man to say the LEAST. He even thanked ME for walking him through every area TOGETHER to treat it instead of just pointing them out & him having to REMEMBER all of them. I recommend u do a walkthrough & Take NOTES if u have more than one nest of ANYTHING. He sprayed the upper & lower part of 6 sheds, the house, the roof & every single nest. After informing us of the total, informing us on how long the chemicals last/take to work etc... ON ALL BUGS ANNNND the 45 day warranty I asked if I could hug him! woke up this morning & walked the yard, not even a FLY on the porches, so far so GOOD! Only ONE NEST with activity in the retaining wall, which I am told to call in a few days if still active ( give the stuff time to work). Will DEFINITELY RECOMMEND & REFER! Thank you august & sean for giving us the yard back & an AWESOME get together! UPDATE: We had to call for wasps again, Braiden was as usual very educative, friendly, accommodating & professional, as well as thorough. When I found a new ground wasp nest a few days later, he was right back out to spray. I love this company! Have recommended them to everyone I know. Had a horrible rat problem inside out crawl space called a national brand and they sent out a salesperson that didn't work for me especially his best deal of $4950 to start along with a year contract. The next local company wasn't off with another big start up cost and year contract! Finally had a friend refer Sean with Modern Pest Control and I gave him a call. He quoted me a price over the phone then met with me in person and explained the entire process. He even went into the crawl space and took pictures so I could see what he was talking about. Top notch service for a fraction of what others wanted to charge me. Very low pressure but he gave me lots of pay as we go options to keep the rats and other pest out of my house. The Owner Sean came out and sprayed for ants and we have yet to see one since! He also used kid and pet friendly (we have a 6 & 3 year old plus 2 cats and a dog) stuff. His knowledge of pest and plants is amazing. You can tell he cares about what he does by how intense he is when looking over your home for all the problem spots with pest. I have already referred him to all my friends who were having issues with pests and he has pleased them all!! He doesn't try to up sell or any of that non sense. I called a few pest control companies in Pierce County when I had a home I owned in Tacoma that had a rodent problem. With the pests coming from a nearby lot full of blackberry bushes (apparently one of the best breeding grounds for rats), the home had dozens of rodents making unwelcome visits. Of all the companies I called, I was most impressed with Modern Pest Control. Sean was very friendly and quote fair prices for his services. Very impressed with the service here. I live in the country with farm animals all around and I love watching my birds. Unfortunately, this means rodent heaven. This company was good about the first installation at my house but did not get that issue handled. I have called several times to get the issue taken care of the owner keeps reassuring me that his workers will be out to the house to fix it. On 2 different occasions the owner has told me his workers will be at the house and then I have waited for them and they have no called no showed twice! Then on the third go around somebody finally shows up and they explained to me what they were going to do AND NONE OF WHAT THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO DO WAS DONE! I had a different company come out and check and they noticed that the boxes were not even touched! Matter of fact there was bushes grown over the actual boxes! Since I noticed that nothing was done I have made several calls to the owner and left several messages he has yet to return anything! Also when I first hired this company I had told him there was issues with other companies doing the same thing to me, charging me for work that's not been done! He reassured me he was a family man a father to five children and one on the way and that him and his business was an honest company! All this company did was take my money and waste my time! I have now moved on to a different company who has done everything I asked before I even paid them! I also went to add in that my requests were very small that I needed his company to do. Put up traps and respray around my house was the only thing he had to do! This company has wasted my time and my money! I had modern pest control spray my house and basement after I noticed a ton of giant wood spiders. Their tech, Angel, was awesome and super sweet with my dog (an extra bonus). They were able to come out same day and were SO great to work with, including simple, affordable, no pressure to sign a contract pricing. I would definitely recommend them in the future! Sean came out last year and spray for sugar ants in my duplex. The problem was solved immediately. Sean was very knowledgeable and willing to share his knowledge with myself then and with my tenant's now. He told us what to look for and what time of year would be a problem for us with the ants. They did offer to come out next day, but since it took 2 days to get a hold of someone I needed to make an appointment for the next week on my day off. After leaving some reviews the owner replied back the next day saying he woke up to notifications of reviews I left . Hmmm, is that the only reason why you called back? He said he scheduled on the wrong day and apologized. What I don't get is why he never called me back to let me know this the day I called!? I left the message at 2:56pm. That means he had all day and evening to get back to me. Well, I contacted a few other companies and they alerted me that it was weird that Modern Pest put bait boxes in my house . As they are poison and we have two large dogs and a cat. (Mind you the cat brought one of the boxes out and was playing with it ) I had another company come out . They went down in the crawl space, placed traps, saw the entry point where the mice were coming up from which was behind the dishwasher like I had told Tyler from modern pest. Noticed a hole that was running from behind the sink to the crawl space. He then took care of the entry point behind the dishwasher, went outside and looked for entry points and found another possible spot and plugged that up , AND sprayed for pests all for the same price Modern charged me! However all I got from Modern was some chit chat, two mice bait boxes, and three bait boxes in the side . I just don't understand why they thought it was not necessary to check my crawl space after I specifically said that's where I believe they are coming from?! read more

My husband and I just bought a house and right when we moved in we discovered a large bald faced hornets nest in a tree above our front door. The hornets would swarm around our door so we had to go in the back entrance. I contacted Modern Pest Control and Shawn came out that day. He sprayed and our problem was fixed. After hearing something in my attic I called about 7 pest companies that told me they couldn't have anyone out until tomorrow. I then tried modern Pest Control and they sent someone out within an hour!!!! Tyler came and was polite and looked in my attic and assured me there was no droppings, no nesting, no signs of any animals. Called and spoke to Sean about a horrible sugar ant problem in my newly purchased home. He seemed very knowledgeable on everything I had asked about and was out the next day to treat my house! Felt confident he did everything he could to fix my problem. I was told for many cases the problem was taken care of almost right away but there was a chance we might need to have them come out and spray again if we still see any ants after two weeks. After the first couple days I saw almost no ants but after about a week I felt like they were starting to become more present.
