Larger duct with insulation. Some water line insulation showing too.

After receiving a letter from PSE telling us that we are using 54% more gas than other homes the same size in our area, we decided to get an inspection and estimate on our crawlspace. Daniel was a wonderful young man who was very thorough in his inspection and provided me many photos of our crawlspace. We had a poorly insulated floor, ducts with failed elbows, and all types of insulation missing or down. Even our vapor barrier was pulled away badly in areas. Diego showed up on the scheduled day with a team of guys who all seemed to know what they were doing. They fixed it all and sealed the seams with a paste type sealant. The last thing that they do is install the new 10 mil vapor barrier. They even installed a door onto the crawlspace opening. Diego must have taken over 400 photos of the work as it progressed. All those photos added to my confidence that I was getting the work done properly.

I was looking to do a replacement of my roof insulation and these guys were very professional and courteous through out the process - Tom was very upfront and straightforward with the costs and when an unexpected event happened during the day of install, he went over and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. 5 stars to him. They provided excellent value for the $ I spent. On the day of the install, Ron and his crew came by and did a great job of removing the old insulation and laying out the new ones. He was also very thoughtful and answered all the questions I had. Rate him 5 stars. As I wanted an attic fan and our roof was metal, the very next day Tony and crew came up and finished putting up the attic fan and I particularly liked how he went above and beyond in the quality of how he put that together. He also made sure to check and fix all the ceiling cans etc. that had moved due to the set up. I again would rate him 5 stars as well. I got all the before and after pictures sent to me by Laurie from their office. She also helped me set up the inspection for 2 weeks after install. Again, a wonderful experience. Would rate 5 stars. Finally today we had the first inspection after the job and Alfredo came in and did a wonderful job sending me pics and vids to make sure everything was working as expected. Again a 5 star rating. Overall, I am very happy with this company and its employees and would rate it 5stars and recommend this place to my family and friends.

Water leaking around the foam in the gap, soaked and frozen into the insulation.

Strongly discourage anyone from working with this company or any company associated with this ownership/management. They do not stand by their work, are extremely defensive about providing any support, and extraordinarily disrespectful. If you want someone to yell at you on the phone, maybe they're right for you? Full story: In April of 2023 the Super Attic team came to my house to insulate my small garage. The project went well enough, the insulation was completed within the day, barring a few minor miscommunications, it was fine and the price was fair. They were to insulate the garage and, specifically, seal some remaining cracks. I specifically requested the project manager to seal the gaps to ensure no air or water got in, and he assured me at the time his guys would take care of it. They also went out of their way to verbally assure me that if we had any issues afterward we should immediately reach out -- big mistake on my part for not getting this in writing. In January 2024, I noticed a leak in one of the stud bays. Specifically, the stud bay with our gas furnace exhaust which produces water vapor. Normally, that leaves the pipe as vapor, but some of it will condensate and drip around the pipe, especially as it gets colder. I expected the gap around the pipe to be sealed given the assurances the project manager gave me at installation time. However, when I removed the insulation, I was surprised to see spray foam instead of sealant in the crack, which is _not_ waterproof. If anything, it acts like a sponge. The water had soaked into the foam, run down the wall between the sheathing and the siding, soaked into the insulation, and then frozen into an ice block (see attached picture). I contacted the team letting them know what I had found and had asked for their help. My email read: "My ask from your team would be to remove the foam, properly seal the gap, and then replace the insulation for this section." After this, I went ahead and fixed the sealant myself, as it was actively leaking and I couldn't wait -- easy enough, it was a tube of caulk from Home Depot and about 5 minutes of work. Dany, who I assume must be the business owner or manager, got back to me 2 days later in an almost comically defensive and hostile way. From the start he made several incorrect assumptions: freely admitted he knew nothing about the project or our home, claimed it was over a year ago, thought I was complaining about a roof leak. He was extremely defensive about his team, he claimed they were not trained or skilled enough to do this kind of work (again, I think he thought this was a roof leak). He said, paraphrasing: "OK, what if we fix this and it fails again in 5 days, who's responsible?" His posture from beginning to end was "This isn't our problem". At this point, I got quite frustrated with his patronizing tone and defensive behavior, and I called him out on it, at which point he decided it was appropriate to get into a verbal argument with me about how I needed to "be more respectful" and that I needed to be nicer to him. I made it very clear on the call that all I was asking for was replacement insulation, at which point he realized it was going to cost him a lot less, and yet he insisted on continuing to demand that I show him respect. I mentioned I'd be leaving a Yelp review about my experience, which put him into overdrive. At this point, I realized there was no chance he was actually going to help, and I told him I wasn't interested in continuing the conversation and I ended the call. I fully expect to get a review response from a Super Attic representative attempting to deny this, but it is the genuine truth. If your project is simple enough maybe they're fine, but god help you if you end up talking to Dany.

Lately the upstairs rooms always felt dusty and the temperature kept changing a lot, cold at night and warm during the day. Someone suggested checking the attic and once it was opened it was pretty obvious the insulation was very old and the space needed a real cleaning. Team came out and took their time looking around first. They explained what they were seeing and why the old insulation was not really doing its job anymore. There was a lot of buildup, old insulation, dust, and just years of stuff sitting in the attic. Once they started removing everything it was kind of surprising how much came out. Whole attic was cleaned out properly before anything new went in. They also pointed out a few small openings where air was getting in and sealed those while they were up there. After that the new insulation was installed and the difference started to show pretty quickly. Upstairs already feels more comfortable and the house keeps the temperature much better. Air feels cleaner too, which was something that was noticed almost right away. One thing that stood out was how careful they were during the process. They covered areas they were walking through and cleaned everything before leaving so there was no mess left behind. Attic cleaning and insulation is probably one of those things people forget about until it becomes a problem. Looking back it probably should have been done earlier, but really glad it finally got taken care of. House feels better overall and it just gives peace of mind knowing the attic is clean and properly insulated now. Really good experience from start to finish.

Insulation Co gave me the best price out of all. The owner, Jo, was very knowledgable and easy to talk to. He was always willing to jump on the phone to answer any questions, which I appreciated a lot. My house was built prior to 1989 so I received a nice PSE rebate for the work. On the day of, Jo's crew were quick and efficient and provided Before and After photos. They removed my old vapor barrier and insulation and replaced with new one, added new dryer vent duct and flapper, and added new roof vents for all my bathroom fans, and much more. I was able to ask them questions during and provided water and snacks to them for their hard work. The crew respected my home and cleaned up after themselves before leaving. After the work was completed, I thanked Jo for making this all possible and being easy to work with. We went over some of the After pictures together over the phone to help me learn about everything and ask additional questions. They even sent a crewmember to come back for a 2-week follow-up on the work to make sure everything still looks good. They're efficient and completely thorough. Shout out to the on-site project manager, Ricky Ricardo (yes, his real name, like the character from I Love Lucy, but he's a great sport about it) - who came early and stayed late to make sure we knew what was going on and were fully satisfied with the complete job, with a walkthrough and pictures of everything from end to end. Ricky is a guy who cares about a job done right and cares that the customers are completely comfortable, happy, and satisfied. Ricky came in before the crew started, walked us through how the job would go, made sure that all of our personal belongings were moved far away or protected by plastic throughout the garage and all the way through to the crawlspace access near the kitchen. The taped-up plastic "hallway" they created to prevent fiberglass and biohazard waste from leaking out into the house was going to block off part of the house, so Ricky made sure that we would have access to everything we needed, and offered to cut holes or coordinate crossings through as necessary. For the 3.5 years we've lived in this house I've been scared to even put my head down in the crawlspace, and by the end of the job I was ready to stand in there and take my own pictures of the space. Thankfully I didn't even have to take my own pictures, because Ricky organized sending me hundreds of before and after pictures from everyone on the crew. I have so many pictures now I could draw a pretty good map of my crawlspace without ever crawling through it. The price (spoiler: great!) Where other companies tried to quote for a smaller scope of work to keep costs within our budget, Attic Crew combined a completely thorough top-to-bottom job with guaranteed PSE rebates (as appropriate to our case) to meet our budget and then some. This was actually the best quote we got in two ways. First, this job was scoped to everything we wanted and more, no cutting corners. Second, it was the cheapest quote overall by about $500 thanks to PSE rebates that Attic Crew guarantees. Attic Crew takes care of the PSE rebates on their end, no paperwork for us. They included line items on the quote to show us how much we were saving from the rebates, but the sales rep, Tom, guaranteed me that even if they somehow don't qualify for the rebate from PSE, they will never charge that back to us. On top of that, they were quick to schedule the work only a week after we paid the deposit. The scope of work (extremely thorough): Removal of all old insulation and vapor barrier. Biohazard cleanout and sanitation. Crack sealing (foam, mesh, and/or cement as appropriate). Air sealing around any penetrations (vents, ducts, wires) into the house. Upgrade from 4" R-17 to 10" R-30 fiberglass insulation. Upgrade to 10-mil thickness vapor barrier. Replace dryer duct from flexible to rigid aluminum. The job was very thorough to improve our home efficiency and lock in the PSE rebates. As a bonus, they included cleanout of an abandoned rat's nest in a cabinet in the corner of the garage that the previous owner left us as a "gift" and we'd never had the equipment or PPE to properly deal with, and any rodent droppings found in the garage as well. Literally the only (very minor) issue we had was that we'd scheduled the quote on a day that turned out to be a Monday holiday. The communications were a little unclear referring to "tomorrow" rather than a specific date and ultimately they confirmed the appointment for the next business day. No harm done.

Our primary reason for choosing Northwest Crawl Space Services was their ability to provide a comprehensive, one‑stop crawl space solution. They offer the full spectrum of crawl space restoration services and can also install a sump pump system. We also used their high‑quality rodent prevention services as part of the project. Among the companies AI recommended to me, Northwest Crawl Space Services stood out with exceptionally strong customer reviews. I also browsed through some customer reviews, including a long, thoughtful one written by an older gentleman. He wrote, "Lior was our lead person for questions and he made it easy to understand, going over everything--I mean everything!" Lior is also the blogger who wrote the educational articles and the detailed, highly informative work logs on the company's website. And as luck would have it, the company assigned Lior to do our estimate. Now we can say the same thing: everything became easier because Lior stepped in with such calm, steadiness, and responsibility. On the day of the estimate, Lior told us they would protect the laundry room and the garage, and that they would do their best to complete the project to a high standard--he even said they would make our crawl space "beautiful." Our only expectation for the crawl space was basic functionality. It is technically part of the house, but the last time I went inside was thirteen years ago. This time, however, when I entered the crawl space to take photos, I had to admit that their attention to detail was truly impressive. I'm posting a few photos here--this is only a small portion of what they accomplished. The quality of the work far exceeded anything we had imagined. Considering the hours they spent in that low, dark, cold, and damp environment only deepened our respect for their perseverance. During those two days, even though the work was physically demanding, we could still feel that they were genuinely happy. This speaks both to their inherently positive mindset and to the healthy, supportive workplace culture within the company. The office staff were equally enthusiastic and provided the same high level of friendly, professional service. NWCSS is a company you can truly trust. A few days later, on a sunny afternoon, I went back into the crawl space. What I saw made me finally understand what "beautiful" truly meant. I sat there quietly, watching the interplay of light and shadow between the new floor insulation and the new vapor barriers, with the new air ducts weaving through the space in graceful lines. In that moment, the present felt eternal. Lior delivered on everything he said he would do. Highly recommend!
