I came in for a tour, but it just didn't feel right. The whole experience felt forced. I know it sounds stupid, but some of the reasons I decided not to go with this school is because of how pushy the staff was. There were some details that turned me away, but it's too petty and ridiculous to post here at the moment. They had openings the very next month, but since classes only have 8-9 students, it's hard to believe that it wasn't full already. Although the classrooms looked cool, and I enjoyed the tour, there was this feeling like they were only after students' money and not their well-being. I guess I would have preferred speaking with one of the teachers, and not a counselor/advisor that doesn't quite have the expertise in the field. They have the limited X-ray license program for a year with morning/evening options. I forget the pricing, but I was told that many students choose this private schooling because of the community college waiting lists. Also, the presentation was extremely short and felt like it was cut short. Regardless, I would personally rather go through public education somewhere like Cypress, Mt. I am not going to lie... I was scared to go back to school for so many reasons. So much was against me and I kept asking for a sign to stay and keep going. All I have to say is Ms. Parker was def that individual who continously kept reminding me why this is all worth it. If it was not for her, always keeping her door open, taking time and sitting with me to check up on us in the class. I'd definitely would of left after the 1st week. I highly recommend this school. I attended Modern Technology School from May 2020 to April 2021 in the Xray/Ma program. The program is well structured and well run. Mr. Cost is a great Xray teacher, and he helped the students in every way in his power. Mrs. Fazzone is a very good MA teacher. Mr. Cost, and all the staff personally helped me when I had questions or needed help, EVERY STEP OF THE WAY! I'm currently a student at Modern Technology and I have already completed the MA portion. Currently I am half way through the X-ray program. I'm so happy I made the decision to attend this school. However it is imperative to note that my x-ray teacher (Alina), is the best teacher I have ever had in my life. I used to attend OCC and I have not had a better teacher than Alina. My MA teachers were good as well but Alina is the best she will go out of her way to make sure you understand what all the Labs, lectures, and anatomy. I have been blessed by the medical gods with the opportunity to be a student at Modern Technology school they do a really good job at working you into things that you're not comfortable with to make it second nature. I see based on some of these reviews this school is still a joke like it was almost 20 years ago. This is by far the worst school ever!!!. I can't believe they are still in business pretending to be an actual school. I went here in 2004-2006 when they were still located in Anaheim. I was taking the ultrasound program. I signed up and they told me the were fully accredited (big lie). 6 months in attending class, my son had to have surgery. I asked if I could have a couple days off to tend to my son and was told to take the rest of the quarter off and restart where I left off with the next class that was behind us. I went ahead and did that and everything seemed fine. I started my internship at a clinic in Irvine that only saw 2-3 patients a week. I went back to the school and told them I wasn't getting much experience at this clinic because of lack of patients. They then switched me to do my internship at Montebello Hospital and some hole in the wall OBGYN clinic in Chino. I lived in Irvine and had to spend a lot of time and gas to get there but, I stuck with it thinking it would all be worth it in the end. A week before graduation they came to our class and told us that they had lost their accredidation and had been trying to get it back for the last couple of years. They said they thought they would be accredited again by the time we were supposed to graduate but they were not. They said we could not take the state exam any longer to get certified. Everyone was completely shocked and upset. Then a couple days before graduation they pulled me in the office and told me I could not graduate and take my final exam because the year prior I had taken the time off for my son's surgery. I explained to them that this is what they wanted me to do and they said they could not help me. They expelled me along with 3/4 of the class once everyone started to complain because we had spent over 30k on a school that lied to all of us from the very beginning and they had already collected the last payment from everyone. We were all left with a 30k debt on our credit because of the student loans without any certificate to show for it. It was all a big, very expensive waste of time. Even the few that were able to graduate were not able to do anything with it because they could not take the exam and get their certificate. They were told to try and find a job on their own at a clinic or hospital that would take them in for a year without being certified. Of course no hospital would be willing to do this. In short if you are looking to go to school to become and ultrasound tech, DO NOT by any means choose this school. With the amount of money they charge for their ultrasound course lie, you can definitely get an actual education elsewhere. read more

Overall the program would be amazing if they had the right staff. Beware that the medical assistance program and program director (Ms. Parker) is a joke. She set up 2 meeting with me and never showed up or called, she lags on ordering supplies, so when you come to injection you may have to wait up to 3 weeks as Ms. Parker shows a level of serious incompetence in completing tasks or really any and all aspects of her job. She had me take the NCCT exam in December and when it came to sending in the paperwork for your NCMA just plan on sending your diploma yourself as Ms. Parker will make you wait several weeks to be able to get a job! She will tell you to be professional and prompt but lacks those qualities herself. And her talks on how she made a million and is making a movie about cryptocurrency is kind of sad and pathetic. If your looking to become a medical assistant my only advice would be to RUN!! Now on to everyone else.....amazing! Adam in clinical placement is awesome, Ms. Lee the medical assistant day instructor is amazing! Sue Shannon the director of the X-ray program is nothing less than stellar, Mr. Ed and Ms. Alaina are excellent and the best instructors in their field. Take my review for what it is and if you decide to go to this school just be very careful with Ms. Parker as she is very strict and also very unprofessional and not consistent. I had a few friend go for the medical assistant only program and she is so flaky that you will be studying on your own as she doesn't provide much direction and won't give a class schedule start time. She may show up she ma Update on review If you get the chance to attend the MA/X-ray program....take it! Like I said in my review all the X-ray instructors and program director are amazing and super accommodating. Don't let my review put you off from this school, it is a real diamond in the rough! After meeting with the school I found out the situation with the supplies being on back order and out of the schools control. Since graduating from the school I've already obtained a job and because of the training I've received I'm more confident with all my daily tasks as an MA. Came here because I am interested in becoming an X-Ray Technician. I was interested in becoming a CRT at first, but there's a crazy wait of 5 yrs at the community colleges, so I can use this as a stepping stone and bypass that ridiculous wait with a year in the field as an X-Ray Tech after I graduate.... then head to a private RT school. Admissions guy was really friendly and answered all my questions and walked me through the entrance process and financial aid. Everyone was really friendly and personable and the classes I saw on the tour seemed engaged. Planning on a May start, they also cross-train X-Ray Techs as Medical Assistants, so win-win. read more

I graduated back in 2016 in the MA/x ray program and landed a job right after I graduated. I did MA/ x ray at a couple urgent cares for about 4 years then I became a full license radiologic technologist @ OCC class of 2019! Which I highly recommend! Anyway I worked as a full tech for 2 years and recently transition to interventional radiology! I always looked back at where I started and the experience and knowledge I gained here has helped me throughout and I'm very thankful for that. The whole point here is the tuition. I feel like overall it's not worth it to put yourself in debt. If I can go back I would tell myself not to come here just because of that and just go straight to a community college but I get it! No one have time to take GE classes or family etc but I'm just speaking my opinion. I wish I could've bypass this school and jumped straight to a community college. Went to this school years ago. For ultrasound tech. They lied to me telling me they are an accredited school , making me believe that I could get certified after . Then the last day of school after 18 months they tell us they are only accredited with limits so we will have to find a job full time for a year before being able to get certified . Problem was you can't really get hired without being certified . Also they place you in an internship and they placed me with a sleezy clinic in Lynwood . And the office manager sexually harassed me constantly . I came to the school and told them what was happening and they asked me " what are you doing to provoke that, and also told me that he's from another country so he just doesn't know better " basically blaming me the victim and not helping me at all. I suffered mental stress from the experience , and at the same time had already invested 30k in loans and didn't know what to do. So once I graduated from this horrid school , I spent a year trying to find a job . And make it work since I already invested all the time and money into it. Once I realized I should probably sue them I went to see a lawyer that told me it was one year later and over statue of limitations !! Then I received call that this school was having a mass lawsuit and if I wanted to be a part of it and I said yes but never got another call in regards to it . So now years later and 35k in debt with no ultrasound career. I basically paid over thirty thousand dollars and spent 18 months to be sexually harassed and misled and mistreated . So I suggest passing this school right by . And they should be closed down read more

Great school, great teachers, great experience. If you put the time in and give it everything you have, you will become either an ultrasound technician or MA/ X-ray tech. Having been a student of this school, I had doubts as to weather or not this would be a good fit considering it's not a CAAHEP accredited program. Ultimately, if you work hard and put in the time, you will find a job and you will be successful. Since I have started my MA/X-Ray class in August of 2021, I've had nothing but amazing things to say about this school and the faculty. My teacher Mr. Reyes is by far a great teacher and Mrs. Parker since day one has always been so positive and helpful. She is always pushing us to do great things. I want to that Mrs. Parker. She is very dedicated and takes her time to help us do our best and wants to see every student do great in the future. Entering school during the pandemic wasn't an easy choice knowing the obstacles that may come with it, sure enough but it was a great learning experience before going into the real world. The medical field is always unexpected/and always changing (COVID). Being director she shouldn't have to teach the class, but Mrs. Parker would stay to teach our evening class not because she had too but wanting to put knowledge in our heads and also know what we have learned so far. Lol. I have to say I love her stories (her experiences), I should say. They are real life stories that one day we may encounter in the real world besides that fact it also has to do with the lesson that is going on that day, but putting real life scenarios is great because it's not a fake story or from a movie. She also gives great advice, and is a great motivational speaker and I'm glad to say that I can always count on her. Thank you again. I mean really thank you. When I started my ultrasound program here I honestly thought this was the most sketchiest schools ever and first 6 months I was doubting myself if I was making the right decision coming here. Then I thought since I've already invested that much time in the program I might as well see it to the end. I did my best to participate and study so I could get on of the best clinical sites and that I DID!! The staff in this school are so personable that they know where to best place you by knowing your personality and ultrasound skills. Eventually Modern Technology became my second home and the staff became my family. I graduated with honors then took and passed my SPI right after. I moved right after graduation to ND not knowing I'd find a job since the ONE hospital where I moved to required boards and wanted graduates from a CAAHEP school but I applied anyway. They interviewed me and got hired full time as long I obtain my boards within 2 years. They got me where I am now. I have NO REGRETS coming to this school. read more

mod 2 is coming to an end and I couldn't have had a better instructor than Ms. Lara. She is always devoted to teaching her students and always has a way to make sure we understood the lectures. Her heart definitely belongs in a classroom. She has a passion for teaching and it's clearly visible to her students . In Mod 2 we've learned so many different skills with her. When it comes to Lab she makes sure we are comfortable doing what we are doing but also making sure we are doing our assigned job correctly. Her lectures were really good, she draws out the system we are learning and explains it step by step. As a visual learner it helped so much. It's so sad Mod 2 is coming to an end. Going to miss her! Most definitely a life changing experience modern tech has offered so much from the beginning from the friendly office staff to the teacher with their wide range of knowledge. I took the X-ray/MA course and I had the opportunity to work with Ms.Alina Kane and Mr. Ed Fernandez both very knowledgeable and attentive in the field of X-ray. I started my Ultrasound program in 2012. Couldn't be more happy with my choice in picking this great vocational school! You'll have a full understanding of the material, and feel confident after graduating. Classes are small giving you more one on one time with your instructors( only 4 girls in my class). Classes are small due to the number of ultrasound machines in the lab, and clinical rotations. Anther plus is they find your clinical site for you! ( I was placed at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital) They ARE NOT CAAHEP certified ONLY ACCSC, which mean you can only sit for your SPI ARDMS exam, and aren't allowed to take your Specialty ARDMS. Unless you work a full time job for a year, then you'll follow under a different clause that will allow you to take your ARDMS speciality. My class just graduated our 2 year program on Feb. 2014, and 3 out of 4 of my colleagues have jobs without out our registry. (We will need to sit for our exams to further our careers, but for the time being the majority of us all got jobs within 6 months!) If you want a job YOU MUST be proactive! Jobs just won't come to you so be prepared to work hard for that first job! The cost of the school is a little spendy, but worth it to bypass other long wait list schools! There's financial aid, and they can also setup school loans if needed! This school is well known in the ultrasound community, and I would recommend this school to anyone! I found them to be very helpful especially the review classes they offer once I graduated. Obviously we had a different experince and we'll just leave it at that. Sorry you're so bitter. (1) Ty T. I think you might have commented on the wrong school. Modern Technology's MA/X-Ray program is only 11 months and I paid less than $17,000. So if you defaulted on your school loan that's a whole different story. I am working as a limited tech and once I obtained my license I was able to find a job with their assistance. They helped me with my resume and gave me interview pointers. I am still working as an XT now and love my job! read more

NEVER have I ever heard of a school not giving you your transcripts for over 2 weeks. Not to mention this school takes 30,000 from you & they don't offer tutoring? Where do I start? This school is amazing! I attended 2018-2019 and graduated from the Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist program. There is real effort that is needed to succeed in life and obtaining a new career is no exception....but without a doubt the entire group of teachers here are there along the way as you make that journey. They truly want you to succeed because they're fully invested in your future and cheering you along the way! With everything the more you put into it the more you will get out of it... the program is dIfficult at times, but if you put in the extra time and effort it will be a success. Just knowing that during my time attending Modern Technology that if I was needing help in understanding a concept, preparing for a test, needing to practice my scanning the teachers were there 100% along the way. I am very thankful that I made the decision to attend school here. The hours of hands on experience is invaluable. The clinical hours that you do to complete your education are above and beyond other programs, but again this is what you need to succeed! With all the preparation that I obtained ...I've been able to pass my SPI test and get a full time job in the field. Next stop is RVT!!!!!! Do not listen to the 1 star ratings!! These people for whatever reason have negative things to say, but they aren't telling the whole story. Their version seems to be extremely twisted.
