I visited ModernMd today with a sore throat and aches and they got me in and out so quickly and were so kind and professional. Helen at the front desk was so patient and pleasant, my nurse was very kind, and my provider Matthew Chan answered all my questions and had great bedside manner. I also really appreciated that he considered my symptoms and the test results carefully to advise me how to proceed with what turned out to just be a non-COVID and non-flu virus and didn't just prescribe me something that wasn't actually going to do anything. He advised me what to do/ take ibuprofen to feel better and I was quickly on my way! I found myself unwell and my other urgent care facility in the area was closed. It was a ghost town but ModernMD was open. I checked in and had 5 people ahead of me. I think there was only 1 doc on staff for the day and after an hour of waiting, I was seen. I was miserable but the staff were patient and heard me out. They decided to run a flu and covid panel. Despite being vaccinated I was stunned to learned I contracted Flu A. We discussed medication and the doc took some of my preferences for my terrible cough and prescribed me steroids and tamiflu. Due to the holiday season and time of day there were no local pharmacies open. The doc went above and beyond to find me a pharmacy that was open and close enough by so I could start the tamiflu ASAP. My meds were ready in 10 mins and I could not be more grateful. The wait time was awful sitting there for an hour but believe the docs urgency in prescribing my meds prevented me from getting much worse. Glad to have them in the neighborhood. read more

This was the best urgent care experience I've had, and I've been in my fair share of urgent cares! The front desk staff- Hayden, Hem and a couple of others whose names I unfortunately didn't catch were very friendly, attentive and personable! The medical staff who helped me, Nadira and Dr. Smith, were knowledgeable, proactive, and very professional! I was on my way to the closest urgent care to my home, but it was closed at 3PM... that was an omen and how I ended up at ModernMD Urgent Care on Graham Ave. Freddie, the receptionist was pleasant and helpful as I filled in my information with self-check. As soon as I finished, he directed me to an examination room, and in no time, my nurse popped in. I didn't get her name, but she was attentive, skilled and also pleasant. She took my vitals and returned with Dr. Salem. My situation was not extreme but very uncomfortable. Dr. Salem made a quick diagnosis, ruling out the worst. He's fantastic and I see a bright future for him! His bedside manner is very positive and although I love my PCP, if I ever need to visit an urgent care facility, I know where to go. The team is young, bright, and knowledgeable, patient and personable. Big up Bushwick! And it's very clean :)! read more

Completely overcome with the flu I headed over to ModernMD and was treated diagnosed and seen very quickly. Dr.Salem was very helpful, knowledgable, and attentive. The team here was incredibly tender and helped me be seen quickly. Their priced are reasonable and they are transparent with he upfront costs of everything. Radiology options on site and a range of testing options to figure out exactly what's wrong. Strongly recommend, I had a fantastic experience here. read more

I enjoyed my visits last December (2022); however, 8 months LATER, I received a bill for $25. Apparently, they claimed that my insurance did not fully cover the cost of a follow-up visit, which I initially paid for out of pocket, but since it was a mistake, they reimbursed me. It took a few weeks and a few phone calls, but I got it. Now, I get harassing calls from a VERY RUDE billing guy demanding $25 (twenty five) dollars. I am surprised they didn't charge me to breath their air when I was there... I will be thinking 2x before going back there again. read more

I stopped by for a strep test and was seen immediately after arrival. The front desk staff was stern but efficient. Dr. Smith was eloquent and detail focused on his explication of the various strep varieties and what I could do at home to help null the symptoms. He took his time listening and had me on treatment within the hour. I would highly recommend coming here if you're in a time crunch or simply don't have time to see your PCP but still want reliable treatment. read more

DO NOT COME HERE, ESPECIALLY FOR CORONA VIRUS TESTING! The facility is not sanitary at all- they have an overcrowded waiting room with no distancing enforced, were not requiring people in the waiting area to wear masks, are allowing everyone to use the same pens, no way to clean the touch screen tablets you have to check in with, and have an awful system of reporting results. You have to fill out a form that has your email so that you can login to the portal to get your results. I never got an email, and when I called they said it was against their policy to take my email over the phone. I have to call back for my results or walk back there and fill out the form again because they failed to fill in my information. I have waited over 7 days for my test results and have gotten none. Go anywhere else but here. read more

If I could give this office a negative star I would. The staff at my recent visit was very ratchet and uninformed. They tried to convince me to pay cash because insurance covered visit will not be covered by insurance when it is. Lastly, they tried to have me go to emergency room for an urgent care visit covered blood draw. In the time I took to put myself on virtual waiting list here; I was able to go up the block to CityMD and was seen in the time they took to text me I was next online at this place. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I normally don't do negative reviews but this I had to do because my experience was so bad if you decide to come here be warned. read more

I walk in there, lady barely tries to acknowledge me, I tell her why I'm here. Ignores me and points at some sign to text a number. I text number and signup for waitlist. 30 mins later she's like you need to leave and come when it tells you to show up. I'm supposed to leave an urgent care waiting room and do what exactly? Front desk receptionist was maskless, one was wearing the mask under the nose. People ce in with masks under nose, taking masks off to talk. Waiting rooom was crammed. Asked if I could wait outside she said "only if there's no seats but you shoukd stay in here" people coughing in the back room no ventilation that I am aware of. You're better off going to Woodhull Hospital Emergency Room. Anyone who recommends Woodhull over any other facility must be crazy right? Well I'm not! I seriously rather go to where I'll be called faster than to sit here for 'apparently' no serious reason. I've come here on numerous occasions. Each time for something and someone different, IE; My son, My mother, a friend, myself, etc..... and EACH time, the service was terrible! They leave you in the back room where no one comes in to assist you at least for over an hour. They're chit-chatting about what to eat for lunch at the front desk. I even recommended a pizzeria to them since they're so worried about food. The staff is very unprofessional and untrained. I had to explain 8 times, seriously 8 times, that my son had a PDA surgery when asked about his medical history. They didn't know what a PDA was and what type of surgery it was. Having further to explain, they still wrote down the wrong information. The guy taking my sons vitals wanted to do an oral temperature and use a big cuff on him. I don't think he realized my son is only a year old! How is he possibly going to do an oral temp and use a big blood pressure cuff?? The Doctor came in and his exact words were "I'm not a pediatrician so I don't know what's happening but I'm going to give you antibiotics for his ear infection" this is where I draw the line? Who the heck is hiring the staff? They clearly have no idea about anything. The wait is so long, I think marathon runners will make it to the finish line before I'm even called. The Staff including the doctors, are highly untrained. I trust WebMD more than these folks. There you have it, stay far far away from here. read more

I went for a COVID antibody test, which is supposed to be free. They get around it by charging a separate fee for speaking with the physician. I never spoke to a doctor while I was there. They took my blood and that was it. Charging an extra $150 for having spoken to no one is too much. It's a scam. You're better off at CityMD. My own family doctor doesn't even charge that much for an office visit! read more

I came in for a covid and antibody as soon as they opened since its nearby. My experience was short and smooth and really nothing to complain about during my appointment. The women who did my test was really nice and got me out very quick. Only thing I want to point out, is when I recently called about a billing question, I was told to reach out to another number. I completely understand since it makes sense for billing to have its own department. Unfortunately I did find the lady on the phone to be extremely rude and loud. Her tone was really unnecessary for the simple question I asked her. Overall my medical service was fine, but some of the front desk workers need to manage their attitudes on the phone because it can deter patients from doing business there again. read more

I put in for a rapid COVID test here. It's super convenient, I'll give them that. Also a long wait, which I completely understand. However their message says to "stay nearby" so when I reached #15 in line I left my house as I live NOT NEARBY. I got there and was told that I was too early and wasn't even allowed to ask a question.....the girl behind the counter cut me off every single statement or question. She was extremely rude and inpatient. Patients in waiting area either not wearing masks or not covering their nose, and no one enforced it. Also once inside, there was another 30-40 minute wait to get a room. Doctor was nice, but the tech slammed the door when I asked a question she didn't like. I was told they deal with 140 patients a day. NYC T&T deals with 5x that and they are pleasant! **Updated 3 days later. I gave my email to 3 different folks and called 4 times about setting up the portal to get the results and wasn't able to get that email. However I did get the emails stating my results are in! I was promised a phone call and that never came either. So....I have no idea of the results.** I hope this place is reliable, I would NOT come here if I were sick and needed anything other than a COVID test. Go to CityMD down the street. Rudeness when you don't feel well isn't that great. read more

Why is yelp recommend a pre-written, gloating assessment? The fact is, if you aren't going for covid test, then you are not welcome here. The doctor will tell you "of course come here if you need anything...but don't come here unless you need a covid test...". The wait times are bad, but I understand the sudden influx of covid testing and patients in general. But if you aren't fully sick, you aren't welcome in this modernmd. read more

I had an absolutely terrible experience here. I waited for about two hours for an appointment, and another 45 minutes once put in an exam room. When the doctor finally saw me, he didn't listen to my concerns at all, and rushed me out the door. My symptoms were primarily nausea, body aches and malaise. He gave me a strep test, and refused to swab for a more thorough bacterial culture. When the strep came back negative, he wrote me a prescription for amoxicillin - which is not only uneffective but unsafe for food poisoning. I am never. EVER. Coming back to this clinic again. Go to a CityMD instead; they're much quicker and at least act like they care about their patients. Ugh. read more

RUDE and SLOW. Waited for 2 hours with no acknowledgement. An hour in, when I asked the receptionist if she needed my ID or insurance she snapped at me and said that she already put me on the wait list. The other patients waiting were uncontrollable and the staff made no effort to calm them down or ask them to patiently wait. After 2 hours of waiting I finally was called to the back to wait another 30 minutes for a doctor for her to tell me that I "may have the flu but there's not a point in confirming with a tesince she can't give me medication." So after waiting for 3 hours with a 101 fever and a cough I was sent home with only a note to get out of work (which I said I did not need.) this note also took another 10 minutes since the printer was messed up. Great facility. Clean and extremely professional. The front desk was friendly and efficient and the young ladies in the back were wonderful as well. Had a back issue and went in to have it looked at as I could get an appointment with my primary care physician. I met with Dr. Walter Rogers and he was attentive and extremely thorough. He asked many questions and put me through certain movements to access my pain. When you leave they give you discharge papers that go over your visit, conclusions reached, prescriptions (if any) and what the next steps should be. Amazing place and glad that they are so close by. read more

I'm so impressed with this urgent care center and glad to have it in the area. We went in on a Sunday around 5pm because my 6 year old torn off most of her toenail and it was painful and still attached. They saw us right away and we were in and out in under 40 minutes. The staff and dr have great "bedside" manner and understand how to handle children. So glad to have a clean, professional and fast place to being the kids. read more

The doctors are knowledgeable in their field. The wait is short, even if you need X-rays done. If they can't help you they will give you instructions on what to do and where to go. I believe I likely tore my Achilles tendon tonight. I called this facility and the receptionist was very patient in answering my questions. The rates she quoted (I currently have no insurance) were very reasonable. She then put me on mute to make sure they could treat the injury. She spoke with the doctor and informed me that they could x-ray my ankle but a tendon tear would require imaging. When I had additional questions she actually let me speak to the doctor. He was very kind and laid out my options after asking me several questions about the injury. He gave me all the information I needed to make a decision... to give it a night's rest and see how it feels tomorrow. I appreciate them not wanting me to waste time, and the doctor's advice and time on the phone. If I ever need urgent care, I'm going here. read more

I visited here in summer 2018 after noticing that one of my testicles had become completely hard internally, and I was very concerned it could be Cancer. The reception staff were lovely, but other than that the experience was awful. First the nurse I talked to before seeing the doctor asked repeatedly if I thought it was probably an STD or not, and didn't seemed convinced when I told her I was almost completely sure it wasn't as I hadn't slept with anyone in the weeks leading up to this and it didn't have any other symptoms she asked about to think that it was. Then I was left in the room while she went to talk to the doctor, but even with the door closed and it being the furthest of the 3 or 4 consult rooms from the doctors station, I could still hear her telling the doctor about it, and the two of them joking and laughing about it being an STD, and how she hoped he enjoyed having to do the inspection. I was already extremely nervous about the situation and this did NOT help. Very unprofessional and quite frankly rude. If I could hear them, so could everyone else in the other patient rooms. Then when the doctor did the inspection it didn't feel like he really did much at all, I wouldn't be surprised if he just looked at it and didn't try to find lumps etc. Referred me to get an ultrasound, which I did and I was sent the results but couldn't understand them, so I went back to him to explain them to me. He told me it said that it said it was most likely just a calcium build-up, so not much to worry about, but luckily referred me to a Urologist, who told me there was no way it was a calcium buildup, that that was NOT what the ultrasound said, and he did further tests and found I had testicular Cancer. Would seriously avoid going here if possible, I went to CityMD on 7th Ave in Williamsburg for any issues after that and they were 100 times better and more professional. read more

The care I received was good. I was happy with the people who attended me. But I was in severe pain when I walked in. They gave me an injection which helped for a couple of hours and prescribed me ibuprofen. The pain came back and it was excruciating. I couldn't move. I asked, nearly begged because I was crying from the pain, on the phone for them to prescribe something more than ibuprofen, which didn't do anything. They said they couldn't help me (I was positive it was a kidney stone--makes no sense). Now I have to pay twice as much at the ER for a service I could have gotten at the care center. Update: it was, in fact, kidney stones. 20-30 of them. Listen to your patients when they say they're in pain. read more

My mom had gone to ModernMD Urgent Care a few days before and was very satisfied with the service she received. I was having was having trouble with asthma. I waited under a 1/2 hour, I was given a nebulizer treatment and the rest of the meds were e-prescribed to the pharmacy that I go to. The ladies were very helpful and sweet. I'd recommend this place to family and friends. I am very happy with the services that were provided and I feel better already. read more
