    Tiger Tails Animal Hospital

    Tiger Tails Animal Hospital

Tiger Tails had been my dog's primary vet for at least 4 years. I brought my dog to Tiger Tails…read moreafter an emergency hospital visit the night before due to vomiting and fever. The emergency hospital had given him a fever-reducing shot that was supposed to last 24 hours. When we arrived at Tiger Tails first thing the next morning, we clearly told the staff and doctor about this and that it had only been 12 hours since it was given. The doctor took his temperature, did a quick checkup, and said he was fine -- then sent us home. We had pleaded that it was strange he wasn't eating or drinking and he was vomiting with hints of blood, but she kept insisting that he may have just ate something bad or just elder dog symptoms. Just 13 hours later, my dog passed away. I trusted Tiger Tails to take our concerns seriously and to monitor him properly after everything he had been through, but I feel that they dismissed his condition too easily. I am heartbroken and will never forget how this was handled. Please be cautious and make sure your pet gets the thorough care they deserve.

Very early on she started developing a cough and then wheezing, and then runny nose and I was so concerned I couldn't wait two more days for my already scheduled vet apt with another place. I called Tiger tails as soon as they opened this morning and I spoke with Jordan, and she was so unbelievably kind and helpful. She worked her butt off to get us in as early as possible, and even called me back twice to offer two earlier times, which we took. As soon as we got there we were greeted with super friendly staff. They led us to our excluded room (because of the cough) and every single vet tech and vet that came in was amazing. They were so gentle and loving to my baby, and explained everything they were doing. She did a thorough examination, asked questions, and determined it was kennel cough and sent me off with two different meds. I am a pretty anxious person when it comes to illnesses, especially since this is my first dog I personally own, but they were so welcoming and understanding, putting me at ease. I am SO glad I ended up going here, and will be going back for all her future shots/check ups. Thank you to the entire staff that helped me and my baby today!!

Bridge Park Animal Hospital - Puppy Wellness Visits with Dr. Tkac!

I recently found three very sick kittens in a storm drain. I called my friend and veterinarian for…read morehelp and advice, Kaitlin Keane DVM. Unfortunately, she is in California so frantically I asked where I should take these very ill babies. She said as a former Atlantan herself and a graduate from UGA Veterinary Medicine, the only place in Atlanta she would take her own pets to is Bridge Park Animal Hospital. I thought those were pretty strong words but she is one of the best veterinarians in SoCal so she knows her stuff! I called BPAH and due to these kittens being so bad off they told me to bring them in and even though I didn't have an appointment, I could drop them off and they would see them. I thought this was pretty cool because my other experiences with vets in the Atlanta area, I've never been seen unless I had an appointment no matter the circumstances. Let me tell you, these cats have some issues, so many issues, so many treatments, and so many medications needed that when it came time to pay, I thought I was going to vomit anticipating the bill. To my surprise, this was the cheapest vet visit I've ever had and I had three kittens!! Not to mention once your animal has been seen at BPAH, you have two weeks to come back for a free recheck (meaning they don't charge you for the exam and only charge it needing more medicine). This was amazing because I've never cared for orphaned kittens so I was returning every few days for help with feeding and medicine administering or with concerns I was caring for them incorrectly and they welcomed me with open arms. I left each time feeling like they truly cared about my babies wellbeing and not just a check. Because of my frequent trips to BPAH, I was helped by all of the veterinarians at the practice and WOW, they're all amazing! It's no wonder they won Best of Alpharetta. As a long time pet owner and former client of Blue Pearl, Alpharetta Animal Hospital and North Main Animal Hospital, I can say without a doubt, Bridge Park Animal Hospital is the best. My kittens came back from death's door because of them. My business will be forever with BPAH which means my pets will be happy and so will my wallet! Special thank you to Dr. Travis. She loves every kitty patient as if they're her own.

Ivy Hill Animal Hospital - Great Vet

My husband brought my 9 year old chihuahua in for a check up, and she had protein in her urine. Enough that it was a point of concern for the veterinarian. When the labs were returned, the vet called me at 830am to discuss the findings. After speaking for almost half an hour, the vet was still not done explaining the condition of my dog and the care plan we needed to follow. She excused herself saying that she needed to prepare for her day and that she would call me again after she was done to finish the conversation. I am thinking to expect her call around 5 because that's when most offices close. When I never got a return call around that time, I just assumed she would call me back the next day or something. I really wasn't all that worried because we were discussing an existing condition for my dog. I get a phone call past 9pm!! I feel terrible for this lady. She has clearly been working for over 12 hours, and she is still taking the time to call me as she had promised. That is absolute dedication! It's definitely nice to feel like we are cared about.

I have one concern: Ivy Hill Animal Hospital does not seem to want to take dogs with special needs,…read morelarger breeds, or ones that are lab/boxer/pit mix. On my first visit there years ago, I was working for a company that delivers to their place. Back then, they were hesitant to accept my dog, but (I believe) that because I saw them most days for business, they allowed it. I haven't been back to the office in a few years and have since loss rapport with them. I was told today (April 2024) that since my dog requires sedatives prior to his annual shots (just like he did on my last visit there), and because they "haven't seen him," they will not allow him to ever be seen at the office. I asked, "Is this true even if he was a patient a few years ago (because he was seen there before)" The reply was, "yes." After, the receptionist quickly got me off the phone by referring me to "Urgent Vet." When asking for their phone number, I was told, "You can find that on your own at their website." In summary, Ivy Hill Animal Hospital has a clean location, and when they know you, the staff seem kind. But any veterinary clinic that is unwilling to work with a particular dog breed or dogs with special needs, is not one worthy of a good review.
