Dr. Pan misdiagnosed my kitten. He discovered his mistake a week later and called us in. Even though he did not charge us for the visit, we lost a week on a very serious condition. He then referred us to Blue Pearl, who told us it would be 7,000 to fix the problem, which we could not afford. Thank God for Cat Ranger, who told us about Surgipet. We were able to schedule our surgery with them. Still, they needed a diagnosis from Suwanee Animal Hospital, and SAH kept sending the wrong diagnosis: pneumonia, not a diaphragmatic hernia. I went in, waited to see the doctor, and begged him to send the correct diagnosis, but he did not. Finally, I got hold of the practice manager, she sent the correct diagnosis, and my kitten was operated on the next morning. My surgery bill came to 2,200, and they were amazing. I cannot believe Dr. Pan would not send the correct diagnosis and was willing to let my kitten die instead of admitting he made a mistake. Suwanee Animal Hospital has been our vet for the last 15 years. When the Fitzgeralds owned them, they were an excellent, caring practice. The new Owners are doing something wrong because all the good vets leave and the bad ones stay. Texh was extremely rude and unemotional when discussing my dogs nail grind. Spoke to me as if I were from another planet. Offered to donate a huge bag of basically new towels and asked if they would discount the $45 nail grind. They said "they do things differently now" I guess its all corporate now, and not the "hometown feel" for a small business anymore. Ill be donating the towels to the animal shelter instead and finding an office that can offer respectful encounters and interactions with pet owners. I will not be going back after today. My initial visit with Dr. Beach was very nice. I took my cat to get his vaccines and a check up so he can move to an apartment complex with me. It all went well and they confirmed he was very healthy! I was satisfied and scheduled a booster for one of the vaccines. After the initial appointment, my cat has been acting different. He is just not the same as he was before, now he is distant, mean, and doesn't seem happy. He has never been like this before. I brought him today for his booster as well as to see if someone could look in his ears as I have an inkling that he may have an ear infection. And that could be the case as to why he is acting differently. I was told it couldn't happen. The tech, who seemed nice and was trying to help, said that none of the doctors could do a quick check. Listen, I'm not a vet, but I know it wouldn't have taken long. So now I'm frustrated. Annoyed that I was told I have to make ANOTHER appointment and pay $100 + whatever medication he may receive to make sure he is healthy. Back to my initial appointment, Dr. Beach told me he was healthy and his ears looked great. All I asked was for someone to look at him and then we can schedule an appointment if it was NEEDED. It makes no sense to me. No doctor would turn down a human asking to get their ears checked when initially going for a different reason, but why can the vets say no? Everyone is busy, but if you want better - go somewhere else. read more

I've been bringing my dog to this facility for 10 years, ever since I adopted him, and I've faithfully maintained his pet care plan throughout that time. Last year, when they informed me of a slight price increase, I had no issue paying more because I believed in the quality of care they provided. But on August 2nd, I found out that his plan will be discontinued in just 15 days, and I'm beyond disappointed. When I received the email that the pet care plan would be discontinued, I called immediately to schedule an appointment to get all of my dog's vaccines updated while I was still under the plan. They informed me that only one vaccine was due now and that the rest weren't due until October. I asked if they could just do all of the vaccines in August while I'm still covered under the plan, but they said no, they could not. To make sure this was standard practice, I called around to other vets and asked if it would be harmful to my dog to do the vaccines a bit early. They all said it wouldn't be an issue at all. It's clear to me now that the facility wants me off the pet plan so I'll have to pay full price for the vaccines in October after the plan expires. Living and working in Atlanta, it's already challenging to get there during the week, but I would have made the effort if they had given me more than a two week notice. On top of that, I'm currently pregnant, and this short notice is causing a lot of unnecessary stress. This place has really changed since the new ownership, and it's a shame. I don't have a problem with the pet plan being discontinued, but I should have received more notice or at least a month's extension so my dog could get all of his vaccines at once. Instead, they've shown they clearly do not care about his well-being or a long standing customer who has also referred four family members to this facility that would have gone elsewhere if it weren't for me. read more

I will ABSOLUTELY never go back. This was our first time going and have heard amazing things about this animal hospital but our experience was completely awful. First, I told the front desk that my dog is very nervous, scared, anxious and not a huge fan of male vets, they said no worries we will make a note to let the vet know (which they never did) but they did let me know that there was only a male vet there at the moment. I said that's fine bc she really needed to be seen. The Nurse that took us back was great (I wish I could remember her name). I explained that my dog is very scared and anxious and she took great care of her. Then, the nurse went to go get the Vet, Dr. Watson. Who was very unprofessional and handled my dog terribly and was extremely rude. When he first walked in he didn't even come up to her to let her warm up to him. He immediately grabbed the leash out of my hands, started pulling on her leash and tried to restrain her. She was peeing and pooping everywhere. As he was restraining her she tried to get out of his arms and was rolling around in her own poop and pee. She got out of her harness and he threw it at the wall and said that doesn't fing work. She did try to bite him he said but I never saw her do that and when she finally calmed down I was loving on her and said it's ok baby your a good girl and he screamed at me that she wasn't a good girl at all that she is mean and not well behaved. After, they took her to the back to examine her they brought her back to me, she was so scared. The nurse kept apologizing to me about Dr. Watson behavior and to request someone else next time. There won't be a next time bc I WILL NEVER BE BACK. If you plan on bringing your dog here DO NOT see Dr. Watson. I was hoping that since Dr. Watson is older that he would be good with all different types of dog personalities but he wasn't. It was like my dog was the first nervous dog he has ever seen. My furbaby had her exam shots done in April, 2 months later my sweet baby doggy died of congestive heart failure. Talking to the emergency vet she had ALL the classic signs and probably was suffering with this for several months to years. Considering I've taken her to be examined several times during this time and seen by multiple vets.. yet no one really looked at my pet tells me the staff is either incompetent or indifferent. We had a upsetting accident with our sweet lion head rabbit. I called and was offered an immediate appointment. We met with Dr. Fitzgerald who was extremely kind and took his time gently examining our sweet Snowball. He was thorough in his recommendations and even showed us how to syringe feed the medicine and liquid food to our precious bunny. The office was lovely and front desk staff were very sweet and friendly! Prices were very fair. Also want to add that I had to call with a follow up question the next day; Dr Fitzgerald wasn't in when I called, but returned my call within 10 minutes and took his time to help address my concerns over the phone. It's always hard having to end a near 30 year relationship, but I was left with no other option as the tyranny of the front office was simply too much to have to deal with. What makes the decision so unbelievably hard is that the vets that we dealt with over the years (most of which are still there now... Fitz, Joe, Patel, Watson, etc...) are the finest group you could expect in every way. They started in what looked to a older house that had been converted into use as a vet clinic. By the time they exited for a new building built on the other side of the property, the "mileage" of the building had clearly started to show, but inside was still the warmth and care that made taking your pets there so worth while. What was also there was mutual respect and professionalism. I think a huge chunk of that got left in the old building when they moved. Previously, whenever an issue come forward (it didn't have to be employee related, such as left payment card at home, scheduled one dog and second dog came down sick before you were seen, etc...), both the staff and office manager would jump right on it and work to resolve things. If it happened to be employee related (over 30 years, it still happened, although very rare), you were given a sincere indication that things would be taken care of, and every time they were. That demeanor did not translate very well to the new building, especially for the office manager. I'll admit, that as long as no issues arise, you will be shown how much of a class act things can be. It's when things don't go the 100% perfect that true colors will be shown. Shortly after the move, I witnessed one of the staff literally berate a woman who had never been a customer there, & she had in her arm a 6 week old baby and was looking to have a stray that she brought in to be looked at. Granted this was during the "lockdown", but I was embarrassed at what I witnessed. I used to live about 5 miles from them, but at about the same time they moved buildings, I moved to another place 15 miles away. I opted to be willing to go the extra distance because of my affinity for them. I have 4 very active larger dogs, and 3 get monthly shots. No examination, just shots. We had scheduled the three for their monthly injections, and then was called and told they would not see our three dogs at the same time (it was during their Covid lockdown scenario). I asked how am I supposed to get the three dogs their shots. I was told that I should simply bring one from home, return, bring second, etc... (so 3 30 mile trips = 90 miles to get three dogs their shots). I indicated that was unreasonable. Later on, all four had to be seen by a vet. They didn't want 2 adults bringing in 4 dogs. They also didn't want all dogs on one room. Apparently everything about this was against their policy and they weren't going to see us as a result. My expectation of them being seen AFTER they scheduled them knowing what their "policy" and then berating us when we arrived was quite grating. Then one employee came up with a solution. One person, two dogs in two separate rooms. That still broke their policy, but they would've allowed it, and we didn't have to leave without our pets getting the examination they needed. Called to discuss with office manager the next business day as I didn't want to have to go through this again. My reward for attempting to be proactive in making sure that we weren't berated again and denied service should the situation arose again was to be fully berated by the office manager... for "breaking the rules" at the suggestion of her own subordinate. The office manager pulled a crescendo of a move immediately before this review. For quite some time, one of the techs had been consistently rude, argumentative, and confrontational when dealing with me and my pets. I kept letting it go thinking that she'll be gone soon as if she treats others this way as well, there's no way that she'll be around much longer. That unfortunately did not come to fruition. So, I politely asked the front end staff that this person was to no longer deal with me or my pets. A pleasant OK was the response. However, on a subsequent visit, I was asked why this was the case, and I indicated that I was tired of the confrontation attitude, dismissive behavior, being lectures on every little thing, and the general lack of respect that I get from this employee. So instead of looking into things, or even asking me why I felt this way (which she had done prior to the move on other issues), I was "fired" as a customer because I had replied to a direct question about the way that I was treated by the one employee that I did not want to have any further encounters with. She made it official and everything with a FedEx package. This NEVER would've happened in the old building. Things have changed & not for the better. You will receive excellent care from the vets. I can attest to that and would never suggest otherwise. Just hope things go well read more

I just recently adopted my dog, Colby, back in February and Suwanee Animal Hospital is the best vet I've been to. Dr. Beach is the absolute best! She is so caring and sweet when it comes to Colby. Their hours are unbeatable (M-Thurs 6:30-8pm) and they are open until 4 on Saturdays. I have seen multiple doctors here, and ALL of them are great. I have used Suwanee Animal Hospital for close to 20 years and as far as care for our cats they are great, and I have no issues with the doctors. My issue is lack of customer service and their high prices. It seems they nickel and dime for everything. Their fees are higher than any other vet in the area. I have also recently noticed a more "corporate" feel to the practice instead of the home town service we are used to. I found out today they are now owned by Southern Veterinary Partners which explains the corporate vibe. I recently brought my senior cat in to have her teeth checked and the doctor was great (when she was in the room). They did blood work and an exam ($400). After she left I had additional questions and the vet tech said she would go get the doctor and ask her to come back in but she never did. I had to relay my questions through the tech and she went back to the doctor 3 times. I feel like the doctor could have taken the time to come back to answer the questions instead of hiding behind the technician. I was also promised a call the next day to review the blood work results, but no one ever called. I had to call them back 4 days later for an update and then a different doctor than the one I originally saw called me. There was a bit of a language barrier and I didn't understand most of what he told me. I feel like the doctor that did the initial exam should have been the one to call and review the plan. He told me he would relay a message to the original doctor and have her call me to discuss. Again, no call back. I had to reach back out again a week later to speak with the original doctor to discuss a plan for my cat. Fast forward to today, I dropped off my cat this morning for dental surgery (estimated to be $1400). Doctor called me back right away and said she was not comfortable doing the surgery because of an elevated blood pressure which I completely understand. Sent the cat back home with meds and another $200 bill which included another exam fee and a vaccine they said was required prior to surgery. So, I am up to $600 so far prior to any surgery. read more

What an amazing team of pros. I have been going here for many years and have been a long time happy client. This weekend I had my son's large, very strong dog. He had an allergic reaction with me and I was worried about getting him in for treatment. He is a sweetheart but untrained and pulls on the leash and lunges and barks at other dogs. He is just too strong for me to handle. I went in and asked if they would help me get him in and the team was just so helpful. They took care of everything. Mya came out to the car to help get him in. Dr Fabiola was waiting at the door. It was true concierge level service and I was totally at ease. Max is fine after treatment and I am so grateful for all the help and support. These people are kind to both animals and nervous parents. Veterinarian was very good and took care of our dog during an emergency situation but unfortunately the front office staff ruined the whole experience and is enough of a reason not to EVER go back. They are totally unprofessional. Complain about pet owners calling to ask questions and complain about dogs that bark. What a terrible first impression of this business. I've been the patronage for past 5 years and sadly the customer service has been deteriorating every year. No one in the front desk smiles nor greets you. It's becoming very unfriendly place and most disturbingly, they seem to make errors on the invoices. For past 5 years, I never received 10% discount on my multiple dogs before but they mentioned they always did just because we questioned the invoice today. Dr. Madelyn was great and willing to find out more about my new rescue puppy and his condition from the original rescue vet. Answered my questions thoroughly as well. Very, very pleased with this choice. The hours of operation here allow for early morning as well as evening and Saturday. I had a dog that very ill, called my regular vet and told they would be closed when I reached them, so to go to emergency or somewhere else. The veterinarians are very caring and are very knowledgeable and understanding with our dogs.
