Modesto and his crew were all very polite, friendly and easy to communicate with. Before hiring Modesto I received multiple quotes from other fence companies. Modesto's quote wasn't the cheapest, but was still affordable relative to the other estimates. The company that gave me the cheapest estimate wanted to leave an old retaining wall made of rotting railroad ties and build the fence next to it but when Modesto came out to give his quote he highly suggested we remove them because they would be a liability for the new fence. Modesto and his team did an outstanding job replacing our driveway gate and installing new sections of wood fence on our steep hillside and retaining wall. He was very professional and accommodating considering we had lots of questions from us and our neighbors with a steep unstable slope we wanted to install new sections of fence on to. Our neighbors were reluctant to have Modesto work on their side due to concerns of destabilizing their slope further. Yet Modesto was confident he could build from our side without any issues. He was also able to install new fence on top of our retaining wall which previously had a beat down trellis. We also asked for additional posts to be installed for us to secure our shade sails to in which we provided the hardware clamps to attach the sails. His team cleaned up all the old fence posts and debris doing a great job cleaning up the work area. They showed up on time everyday and got right to working, completing the entire job in 5 days. We were deeply impressed with the craftsmanship, professionalism and work ethic. We received competitive quotes and found Modesto to be worth the value including his confidence in completing the job and duration since he was the one doing the work. Other "competitors" our neighbors found weren't 100% confident when pricing us because they contracted the work out (which I would not recommend). My neighbor had a fence i liked, and i sought out the person who renovated the house to get Modesto's contact information - one of the best decisions I made. I was expanding my driveway, and showed Modesto the craftsman fence i wanted to build. He worked with my concrete contractor and came out in advance to lay the posts and help design the curb - you can see the picture where i showed the fence posts prior to the pour. Modesto matched the exact color scheme and design i was looking for through the pictures i sent him. Competitive estimate. High quality work. I was impressed that they used a concrete drill to install steel posts into existing concrete for our vinyl fence, making it very sturdy. Unlike some of the other contractors that bid on the project, they were able to match existing vinyl fence on one side of the property, extending it further along the property line. They coordinated with our neighbor to clearly define which items were shared cost, and which were my costs. They worked separately with each of us to make sure the work was completed to our expectations. They told us in advance when they were going to be at the site, and how long it was going to take, which was exactly what happened. They didn't ask for any payment until the job was done. A month later I had a bbq fire, damaging a couple sections of the fence. I called Modesto, and within 2 weeks he replaced the damaged sections for a fair price. Looks as good as new. read more
