Another company built a vinyl gate for me about 3 years ago. I noticed a crack developing where the header inserts into the hinge side vertical. I contacted them and they said it was out of warranty but I could contact the manufacturer on my own if I wanted. They quoted $550 to replace the cracked vertical piece of the gate alone, and would not even schedule my appointment until I paid in full. I contacted Tony at So Cal Fence and he replied quickly with a fair quote to just replace the entire gate. His installers showed up for the installation earlier than promised and ended up replacing the gate as well as the posts on either side as the other company had not properly secured one of them which likely led to the gate cracking in the first place. I am very satisfied with all of my dealings with this company from Tony, to Eric who facilitated my appointment and the crew that fabricated and installed my new gate on site in about an hour. had some issues with my fence post not closing correctly, and the wood falling apart where the latch was - not sure what happened there but i wasn't blaming Jeff/SoCal Fence for the matter. Nonetheless, I reached out to Jeff about 13 months after he had replaced my fence, even though the issue had been going on for 2-3 months or so. He was still just a quick and responsive, and was more than happy to come out and replace things as needed even though he typically warranties within a 12-month timeframe - no pushback, no issues whatsoever. All I needed to do was send him a picture of the fence cap that was having issues and he got things repaired. Couldn't be happier with the way this went. Jeff and his family crew removed 30+ year old 6' cedar fencing that had been installed with the chain-link posts (mostly). They then installed 282 LF of 6' cedar fencing with postmaster steel posts plus 1 gate. Both left and right neighbors, my tenant and I, thought it was just beautiful! They even went the extra mile of covering the posts, and putting treated lumber at the very bottom to help stop dog-digging. Jeff and his family crew were all very nice, friendly and extremely conscientious at all times. My job was VERY reasonably priced as well. I have to apologize to them for not being very prompt in posting my review - they started on October 2nd and were done by the 5th and today is the 16th. When I need to do another property, or the front yard of that same property; I will be reaching out to Jeff at So Cal Fence. Jeff and his team from SoCal fence got my initial interest simply because of their fence photography on Yelp and the quality of work in their photos. When comparing their Yelp photos against other competitors around town-- I noticed that much of their work was very solid. I saw less gaps and oddities in the construction value and little things in others' photos that made me cautious about picking a vendor. I wanted to be choosy since purchasing a fence for your entire property line is no small feat, both in time and in money. I went with SoCal fence and the initial estimate process was a really good experience. Jeff came and made suggestions about what types of materials to use, how he would go about it working with the neighbors, and particular pitfalls we could avoid in the process. He was organized, responsive and incredibly friendly which was very refreshing. If you use contractors as much as I do (we have rental properties), you really appreciate it when you find a contractor that is prompt, professional and friendly. Jeff at So Cal Fence was the first to respond to my RFQ calls. His bid ($-wise) was about the same as another reputable fencing company, but he replied more quickly & efficiently (one call did the trick) and had helpful ideas, so I gave the project to So Cal Fence. Our project was not too complicated: remove some old fence and put a black chain link fence around part of our yard. However, the terrain is a challenge...probably about a 35% grade in the east-west direction, swarmed by ivy and pepper tree stumps. The construction and final result were as pleasing as his bid process was. (I uploaded a photo.) The job was finished in two days and his crew did a great job of clearing rough vegetation in the path of the new fence.
