Booked Twice, Stood Up Twice I scheduled a virtual consultation with Modloft at 10:00 AM today. No one showed up. I remained online for 15 minutes before leaving. Afterward, I contacted the company to report the missed appointment. Instead of acknowledging the issue, I was told that "the team confirmed they were able to connect to the appointment." This is simply not true. I have time-stamped photos showing that I was present and waiting, and that no one from Modloft ever joined the meeting. Trying to give them a second chance, I rescheduled through their website for 12:30 PM the same day. Once again, I waited online for 15 minutes, and once again, nobody showed up. Being stood up twice in one day is bad enough. Being told that the team attended a meeting that never happened is even worse. There was no apology, no accountability, and no respect for my time. If you offer virtual consultations, the bare minimum is showing up--or at least being honest when you don't. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

I purchased a sectional, two nightstands, and a dresser from Modloft. While I have received the sectional, I am still waiting for the nightstands and dresser. Modloft lists items as "in stock," but once the order is placed, I receive an email from customer service stating that the items are backordered. I waited a month for my sectional, and now it's been another month with no updates or estimated arrival time for the nightstands and dresser. This lack of transparency and communication is extremely frustrating and unprofessional. While I appreciate the company's designs, the customer service experience has been disappointing. The representative I spoke with was not only rude but also dismissive of my concerns. Based on this experience, I do not anticipate ordering from Modloft again. read more

Another nightstand top color was different than the other one, and one of the nightstand's top colors is fading, peeling. Though they delivered defective products but under their awesome warranty policy, they could not provide replacement. It was my fault that I considered them as authentic, company with integrity. Why not have 0 star. We regret to trust their good reviews. My husband purchased the bed frame. They delivered it on Monday(1/9/23), but it still cannot be assembled because of missing parts. We slept on the mattress without the bed frame for a week now. We reported the issue to the company, except when they responded, they sent us a manual of the bed frame to ask us to identify the parts that were missing, except that the manual that the company sent differed from the manual that the company sent in the package. After we pointed out the difference in the manuals they sent us, the company said that the second manual was correct, but that would make some of the parts that we received were wrong. Further more, the bed pads were torn and etc. The company then shifted the blame to shipper of the product for the missing parts, even though it is blatantly obvious that it was the company's fault. As of now, we have not received a response that indicates when we can have the missing parts. Their customer service, quality and knowledge of the product were all poor and we regret buying this product. read more

I ordered a small item from Modloft in 2020 and everything was fine. Two years later, this business charged someone else's $9,104.58 order to my AMEX that they still had on file. I flagged it immediately (Sunday), and my designer and I made multiple calls to them to fix it. After first refusing to fix it and claiming it was "credit card fraud" (it sort of was, but only by them, not by theft of my number) they claimed they had "refunded" the money yesterday (fixing a mistake is not a "refund"; it should never have been "funded"), the charge is still on my account. While I assume AMEX will fix it eventually, these guys' business practices are reckless and their customer service is not acceptable. $9,000 is a large amount of money to most people, myself included, and they should have taken this seriously. read more

I'm not gonna lie, I really really love this companys furniture but in light of recent events. , I've actually grown to despise modloft more than words can comprehend. I recently bought a new house and I've already spent a couple thousand dollars with this company only to be harassed and belittled by this company when it came to a problem I wasn't responsible for. I ordered a Thompson bed in a queen size and emailed them asking if I could SIMPLY switch to a king size instead. They sent me the king and WEEKS later told me I had a queen size bed that ALSO got shipped to me and that if I wanted to cancel it THAT I'd have to eat the shipping AND a 20% restocking fee. There's absolutely no way that I would order 2 beds for the same room...it just doesn't make any sense. This company lacks terribly in service and common sense and they treated me like a criminal or something when their rep Ana Gonzales called me today. I've never dealt with such arrogance with a rep with any company before. BEWARE of these scammers. The rest of the reviews make a lot of sense. I was searching for some furniture for my back yard, and loved the look of Modloft furniture. I visited the Modloft showroom in North Miami because I wanted to see and feel what I wanted first hand. I was blown away. From the selection of styles, to the staff that was helpful without being overwhelming... I was able to see the furniture I wanted to buy. Once I made up my mind, I made my order online, and waited for it to arrive. The delivery process was smooth. There wasn't a lot of communication from the time I placed my order to the time delivery was scheduled, but once I got the call saying that delivery was being scheduled, it was smooth and professional. The delivery team set up my new furniture (totally worth the white glove upgrade service) and carted away all the boxes and other stuff. I couldn't be happier with my Modloft furniture. read more

I am going to just leave my experience here and let you decide if you want to do business with them: BED Before I ordered our Worth Bed, I reached out to see if it could be held because we didn't have our address yet but I knew I wanted it. They said "yes" and they would reach out to logistics and hold it until we were ready. A little over a week later it shipped and since our relocation was pushed, we have to accept the bed, put it in a Uhaul, and move it ourselves (It was over 300 pounds). They DIDN'T offer to refund the "white glove delivery at the time". TABLE We ordered a dining room table that was in stock and said would ship between 10/17 and 10/25. After 4 weeks, I asked for an update on shipping to the local delivery and they said it would be the next week. It didn't ship the next week so I followed up and asked to cancel at that point. It had been 5 weeks for an order in stock. They said it was because we lived in a place they don't deliver to often. Los Angeles - we live in Los Angeles............. Delivery estimate then turned into 12 weeks later and I cancelled. They charged a $600 restock fee for something that was never shipped or stocked at all. They also refused to refund the white glove fee for the bed and said the carrier said I refused it. Even though I had proof of the conversation where they shipped too early. I'm not an expert, but in total, that is $700 they made via fake claims and fraud. You decide if you want to buy from them after that. read more

Bought a Berkeley table approximately 2 years ago. The tempered glass top on my table spontaneously shattered one evening when we were away. After further investigation, we discovered the glass top was siliconed down to the wood table top by at least an entire tube of silicone (see pictures below). Because the glass is fixed so rigidly to the table top, as the wood expands and contracts it caused the glass to shatter. I spent the next days cleaning shattered glass from my house and cutting my hands and head in the process. Modloft's customer service was horrific. They refused to apologize, accused me of damaging the table and lying about it, and refusing to answer my questions on how I could get the top replaced. I purchased a white oval dining table from Modloft website on 8/8/21 and still don't have the table today (12/2/21). Modloft is seriously lacking from customer support and packaging perspectives. My first delivery attempt was made in November and the table base arrived damaged and we had to refuse the delivery. After several emails including an in-person visit to the miami showroom (no customer support help here and only sales people who told me to just email the customer support), Modloft ordered us a base replacement. Today, 2nd delivery attempt was made and this time the special hardware connecting the top and base is missing and the table could not be assembled. We had to refuse the delivery again. It's a shame that they have the WORST customer service because I really do love their designs. I decorated essentially my entire home in Miami with Modloft furniture. They will be super present and available when purchasing. They will completely ignore you after. I had several initial issues with deliveries being pushed back and I had to call every day for weeks to get any kind of response. Most recently the outdoor coffee table I purchased just lost a huge chunk of the stone. It's only a few months old and no one even sits near it. I very rarely use that area of my balcony. I described the issue and sent pictures to customer service and they replied back (WEEKS LATER) that I somehow did it myself. It tooks several follow-ups to even get a reply. One manager, that I have in my contacts, Juan, because of all my issues promised me he would look into it and take care of it. I followed up with him for 4 months. No reply. It's not worth it and this is not a price point in which they can just treat you terribly. I'll never buy another piece there again simply because they just ignore you once you've paid. read more

I bought six-piece furniture sets priced at $750 each ($4500 total) back in 2021 February thru my incompetent designer, who recommended them to me and who also ordered for me because regular customers have no access, with the unfortunate drawback that these chairs were designed to only withstand two times use after which the iron leg covers (cheap plastic) were gone and it damaged my floors. Consequently, I am requesting that the company retrieve the chairs and issue a refund for the past year. Throughout this time, these chairs have occupied valuable space in my home and caused substantial damage to my brand-new hardwood floors. Regrettably, I discovered this issue after my guests had already departed. Despite my attempts to find suitable covers for the chair feet, none have proven durable due to the chairs' poorly designed metal legs with angled and pointed ends. I have endured both financial loss and frustration, holding out hope for a resolution. It was only today, via email, that I received notification that the warranty does not cover the damage. This lack of responsiveness and accountability indicates a deficiency in the company's competence and an unwillingness to take responsibility for producing overpriced items of subpar quality. Additionally, I feel compelled to highlight the fact that despite my numerous emails and phone calls, spanning an entire year, my efforts have been futile, with no resolution forthcoming. I purchased 3 countertop-height bar stools from Modloft last year and paid almost $800 a piece for each. At this price point you would think these chairs are of high quality , but you would be wrong. Less than a year after they look like they are 10 years old, because the backs of the chairs which are made of a wood veneer easily scratch against any hard surface and looked scratched up now (and a counter top which these chairs are supposed to be next to is always a hard surface). I reached out to the retailer I bought these from and they filed a warranty claim to Modloft only for them to come back and say that it is my fault and that the chairs are "too close to counter top". I video was provided to them with the chair almost a foot away from the counter top, but when rotated would still come in contact with the countertop and damage the back of the chair. There isn't a distance you can place these at which would be both comfortable to sit and eat or drink and avoid contact with the back of the chairs if they rotated with the countertop. Even despite being clearly a manufacturing and testing defect of these chairs Modloft came back with "well other customers don't have this problem, so it's your fault"-warrantly claim denied. Absolutely ridiculous company and response that doesn't stand behind their product quality issues - avoid their garbage furniture at all costs. ***Edit: since they have responded with the message below: as a customer experience this is an absolutely awful experience. I buy these chairs and in less than a year they look like this under normal use. You are essentially telling me that putting bar stools next to a counter is wrong use of your product. If you can demonstrate how these are supposed to be placed without the backs of chairs coming in contact with hard surfaces of most countertops ( which are mostly made of stone ), and still sit comfortably behind them I'll remove my reviews. All this started when they brought a damage piece and have no idea where one of the chairs I order was. The company they have doing their delivery is also the worse. Couldn't be more disappointed with my experience. Ordered a bed 2+ months ago, it was scheduled to deliver over a month ago and was delayed the day of delivery because they "lost" the bed slats. They rescheduled over a month later to deliver and on the day of delivery nobody showed up or called. I took two days off work now to take delivery of a bed and have still yet to receive anything or any explanation as to why my delivery keeps getting delayed. This is the worst experience I have ever had. SAVE YOUR TIME AND SANITY AND AVOID PURCHASING FROM THESE PEOPLE. We purchased a bed back in January and said it would be available early February. No problem. When the bed was available it took them another month to get it to the house. When they came they didn't have the right parts. We took a day off of work to accommodate this delivery and are also sleeping on a mattress on the floor. They tried to resolve the issue but upon attempting to deliver today they had the wrong headboard. We took another day off work to accommodate this delivery. We are now out the cost of the bed plus 2 days of income. When I called to air our grievances they seemed to not care or have any urgency around what was happening. No offer to make it better or reimburse us for the inconvenience. Do not waste your time or money - this company is awful. read more

We recently ordered five furniture pieces from modloft. Pros: - Good Pricing - Good Quality (for the price) - Beautiful and functional furniture - The staff at the showroom were very helpful. They would check in on us once delivery was made. - Getting the COI was easy. Had no issues. Sent them my condos requirements and got it back in no time. - Delivery was great. Came when they were scheduled, installed the furniture, and cleaned up after. Cons: - Wait time. While the sales people are very upfront there is a wait time for furniture right now. Some longer than others. Like others say even though they say a piece is in stock that means in stock in their warehouse in California or some other state and it will still take a few weeks to get to you. We got all our furniture just two weeks after moving in so it worked out perfectly for us. - One item arrived damaged. It seems like they might not pack their items the best for shipping. With that being said it was a small chip on the back of one nightstand. Modloft reached out right away about the damage and is in the process of replacing it. They let us keep the piece for now until they deliver the new one which I think is nice. Otherwise we have had a pretty good overall experience with modloft and would recommend. Also if you live In the Miami area check out their outlet right next to the main showroom. You can find some great scratch and dent deals if you can live with that. read more

If I could give zero. I would. Most awful experience I have ever experienced with customer service, deliveries and products. Ordered a sectional sofa, rug, two nightstands, bed and dresser. For these items I've had 6 delivery attempts. Two of which items came damaged and refused. It's been almost two months and still not complete delivery so I've asked to return all pieces including damaged ones and the biggest run around (request is in- then, oh we need pictures! After the supposed request was done over a week ago). The furniture is not good quality. haru nightstands one came broken. The dresser is just boxes in dresser no ease of opening them and just look like the Ikea dressers are made better. The disorganization and lack of communication is awful. Have asked to cancel the pieces that remain but no refund has been made even though I've requested it a few times. I've lost revenue due to inability to hold my events as needed because with half a couch and screwed up bedroom furniture is not the best. The bed delivery guys didn't even know how to put bed together and it's now falling apart. The couch pieces I do have, the bottom trim don't match up. It's been awful. Stay away. There are many other companies who work with vendor programs who are much more flexible, responsive and stand behind their product. read more

Bought a bedframe thinking it was in stock only to be informed that it is back ordered and wont come back in stock for another 20-30 days. 30 days later it finally comes in and takes another 2 weeks for delivery. 2 weeks later delivery comes and they lost or didn't receive the box of hardware so could not put the bed together but still dropped off 3 huge boxes sitting in my apt. No apologies or sense of feeling bad at all! Decided that I didnt want the bed frame anymore after this terrible experience and now the return process is taking just as long! Ordered upholstered bed. The design itself is impeccable and beautiful. However, delivered with incomplete pieces and could not be assembled, by the very rude delivery team. So had to order more parts to assemble. It arrived a few weeks later. Had friends help assemble since installers aren't coming back and were not helpful in first place. Main issue though, the horrendous off-gassing even 2 months later. Have been running fans around the clock since Day 1 with doors open etc, and the smell of formaldehyde still lingers. Made in Brazil so not sure what materials are used or if they are cancer causing. Even got peace a couple lily plants and activated charcoal to help with odor and nothing. Still lingering fumes. Hmmmmm Hoping it will go away. read more
