My friend and I came here a few weeks ago when we were in Prague. We figured we'd take a break from the delicious, but pretty heavy Czech foods that we've been having throughout our trip, and we decided to come by here as it seemed to have gotten some good reviews online. We came in fairly late on a Saturday night, about an hour prior to closing, and the restaurant was still pretty packed. We took that as a good sign. Once we were seated and got a chance to peruse their menu, we decided to share an order of their tofu summer rolls. I got an order of their tofu phad gra pao kai dao, while my friend got a noodle dish. I did ask for my dish to be spicy, but I guess the spice levels have been adjusted to suit more local palates as it wasn't exactly spicy. Other than that, the food was pretty good and fresh. overrated but not bad. Im def. a tough critic when it comes to Thai food so I'll go with 3.5 stars. Great service & they actually listen when you say EXTRA SPICY. Popped in while on a short trip to Prague after a friend of a friend highly recommended this spot. She specifically said the menu on the "sit down" side of the restaurant was better... so this review is based solely on that 1 experience. I had the Tom Yum Extra Spicy (& spicy it was) with a chicken noodle dish, which I unfortunately can't remember the name of... but it was not very memorable. Tasted like a mall foodcourt dish. Hands down best Thai in Prague. Look no more authentic Thai lovers. You have found the place. Imagine a place where you could go in, speak no czech, point at a dish without seeing the picture, and everytime will be a huge, delicious plate for under 200czk ($10 USD) and you will love it. Pictured it? Well it has come to life with Modry zub. Everytime I go here I get a new dish and I am never disappointed. Only downfall here is sometimes the service staff does not speak english, so bring a czech friend or a czech dictionary if you need to. Otherwise the atmosphere is very intimate, 2 floors, pretty quiet and comfortable. Very relaxed environment overall and excellent food. I love everything about this place. Except a few things: The drinks aren't too special. Sure, Singha&Chang, but nothing really out of the ordinary. Also: The place just doesn't have the nicest vibe. It's too fancy and that somehow distracts me from the authentic Thai food. Plus: The prices are a tiny bit high I'd say. Sure, you pay for the location, too, but still. Ugh what a disappointment. I stumbled upon this noodle bar as I was looking for something else on the street. The place looks very classy from outside so I made an extra trip just to try it out and was extremely disappointed. First of all, what I didn't realize is the nice classy seating area is something else from the main Modry zub noodle bar? When I walked in I noticed that the nice seating area was to the right (maybe this is just for if you have more time to eat or something), but I ended up eating in this very little dingy area in the back. It was more resemblant of a very grim canteen area. It was nice that the food came quickly--I ordered a Nan di but it wasn't very appetizing to me. Huge portions but the flavor was very off and it seemed like a confusion of Chinese/Vietnamese food. I was way too excited to see that there were egg noodles, but was disappointed. I think some of the other food options might be better if you like Thai and Vietnamese, but I probably won't be coming back. read more

Late Night Nudle Porn Reading all the reviews I wonder how come I had bad experience here? Shrimp nudles was 245,- CZK so I expected them extraordinery. But they were just below average (not sure though if this was because of a late night visit). Meal: There were 4 tiny shrimps, almost raw slides of onion and a heap of wishy-washy plein wheat nudles on my plate. The ambiance of this place was nice. The service was a bit slow. After we got our food, the waitress didn't come by to see if everything was correct that we ordered. She came by maybe 15-20 minutes later when she noticed I wasn't really into my food. I had the pad Thai w/ tofu, which wasn't bad and a bit bland. At first they brought pad Thai with chicken when I clearly specified with tofu. The other waiter that was working was in rotation and pretty much brought our checks after we asked. My experiences are only from Jindřišská. I have never been in Spálená or Anděl. Enviroment of the restaurant is nice. I would prefer different kind of chairs and tables but it´s ok. Service is very good. Anyway, the most important thing is that the food is delicious. I love especially Phad Khi Mao. I also use a lot the option to order meals online. It usually takes max 30 minutes and it´s still delicious. Just the prices of drinks could be more friendly. read more

We went to this restaurant with friend, encouraged by lots of positive opinions on food advisors. Unfortunately we're very disappointed with the quality of food and service as well. The Pad thai was just ordinary, nothing special, but the green curry was totally awkward. Level of spiciness vas definitely too high, and when we pointed this out to the waiter, he just turned around with strange smile, this pissed us a lot! The taste itself was weak, it was just not tasty at all. I ate this dish many times and it's the worst green curry I've ever had. Prices are too high for this level of quality. They also have amazing take-away and as such I can highly recommend this place when you are looking for high-quality Thai food. What I do not like about it is the ambiance and the fact that it is often very crowded, noisy and the meals may take quite long. Where to eat in Czech? Yelp to the rescue! What can I say, it's Asian food in Czech with a Czech owner. Czech foods tends to be very heavily salted and this restaurant was no exception. The food was just OK, but it was passable especially with a bunch of older Asians. lol The kitchen was mostly Thai, but catering to the local Czech palate. There are two parts to this place: the front is a sit down place with waiters and a bar, the back is a self order cafeteria style place. This review is for the back. Clean with communal tables and a large menu selection. Great selection on salmon, shrimp and vegetarian options. Fast and delicious. Watch out for the spicy options - they are in fact spices. Good portion and good value (I live in the US and almost all prices in Prague are pretty much a good value for me.) No dessert or warm drinks, though. Nice little place for dinner. Went with my girlfriend - ordered pad kee Mao and a red curry and veggie spring rolls. Definitely get the veggie spring rolls, they were good. The pad kee Mao was good, but the noodles are not flat noodles like in the US, they are thin noodles (thinner than pad Thai noodles). The red curry was very spicy but delicious. They had a smoking section that was very close to the food area, so the entire time, I kept smelling cigarettes but not that big of a deal. Price wise, it was fine - about $25 for 2 with a glass of wine each, so not bad. read more

Trust me on this.... I travel the world wanting this amazing food and one part of dining out is the experience from the workers running the place.. The lady that runs the dining area is very very rude to Americans and gave us an attitude the whole time when we had some simple questions. Then she would not allow us to sit because one of us had a cup of tea because it was freezing outside. Such conflicting feelings about this place. The food is consistently good and if you are seated in the service area, the service is efficient, although never friendly. On the other hand, it is pricy, the don't take cards, the smoking and non smoking sections aren't separated and on my last visit I ordered from the take away counter and waited for 40 minutes for a single order. When I brought this up they simply explained there were a lot of orders. No apologies, which would have been appreciated as there were a lot of frustrated people waiting for orders. read more

We needed a break from Austrian/German food after a week of indulging I various "wursts" so tried this place and were pleasantly surprised. The non smoking section is upstairs - nice bright room, friendly service (with English speakers like most Prague places), and good food with generous portions. It wasn't as cheap as some of our other meals in Prague but was wasn't overly expensive either. We felt it was a good value for the experience. Would recommend his place to anyone! read more

Actually, the whole menu selection is great and has a lot of interesting options. They offer quite a few spicy and very spicy dishes for the appreciators. Both dishes were drowning in soy sauce with no other flavoring to balance the taste (pad See ew should be sweet and pad Thai should be sweet/sour, but both dishes were overwhelmingly salty and almost inedible). I'm a huge fan of Vietnamese Pho and I'd say this place satisfied my craving for a nice warm bowl of Pho. However I've to say the Pho was a little too salty to my liking but I'm not complaining :) and it was a Honda that the chef gave me fresh chopped chilli for my Pho upon request. read more
