No security check points of commercial flights, no passport control, no drive to SFO, OAK, or SJC, no parking woes, no headaches associated with logistics of commercial flying... right? Took off here to ISC West Conference & Expo in Las Vegas for security professionals. Many great memories. Flew from here to Sonora to visit with colleagues. Accompanied a good friend of mine and Silicon Valley's pioneer to various events. It is him who I would like to pay tribute to by this review. He's flying high up there somewhere, and he's greatly missed. This review is a tribute to my friend, mentor, colleague, and avid pilot. He housed and maintained his plane here at the Palo Alto Airport. He was one of the world's most powerful, legendary gaming pioneers. His design that he conceptualized had huge impact on the video game and computer industries - it was the basis and inspiration for certain aspects of the Apple II personal computer. It was before my time. We're talking early 70s. It was arcade game times at a company in Los Gatos where he built the circuitry for non-existent yet Computer Space, and became the VP of Engineering heading Coin-op division, and where two other big Steves interned and worked prior to forming Apple. So yeah, his plane lived at the Palo Alto Airport and that's where from, and back to, we flew for business, pleasure, and anything in between. Fly safe up there, my friend. We'll all be there one day. Formal Complaint - TSA Conduct at San Jose International Airport (SJC)…read moreI am submitting this review to formally document repeated unprofessional conduct by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel at San Jose International Airport. As a former airport employee who regularly passed through the employee security checkpoint, I observed and experienced ongoing issues with TSA staff behavior. TSA officers at this location consistently displayed poor demeanor, including hostility, impatience, and a lack of basic professionalism toward airport employees. Employees were frequently spoken to in a dismissive or confrontational manner, creating an unnecessarily stressful and adversarial environment. Of particular concern was a specific incident involving the damage of personal property. A TSA officer cracked my colleague's brand new mobile phone during the screening process. The phone had been clearly identified as being placed inside a screening bin. Despite this, an officer forcefully placed a backpack on top of the bin, resulting in damage to the device. This demonstrated a clear lack of care in handling personal property. Following the incident, there was no apparent acknowledgment of responsibility, apology, or corrective action taken. These repeated behaviors raise serious concerns regarding training, supervision, and accountability at this checkpoint. TSA officers are entrusted with ensuring security while maintaining professional standards and respectful treatment of both passengers and airport personnel. Based on my experiences, those standards were not consistently met at this location. I strongly recommend that TSA leadership review officer conduct at this checkpoint and implement corrective measures, including retraining and improved oversight, to prevent future incidents and ensure respectful, professional interactions.

I had no choice but flew Southwest Airlines on my way back during the chaotic Christmas Storm season when 60% of flights were cancelled. Here are my extended feedback from the survey: TSA agents = quit talking fast like you are from Mars. An Asian agent rushed all passengers like school children. The cleanliness of the security checkpoint = what's that smell? Really, something was on the carpet and no one cares to clean up. Wait time in line = line goes fast for some people. But mine was slow. Because I had a cat carrier. They demanded me to take everything out of my carry-on including my cat. When I warned about him might escape. They said wait aside for inspector. I said, wait, please give me my wallet and phone. They already passed the scanner. Guess what a TSA agent said? "We will worry about it at the end." What? End of what? End of my lawsuit or end of my life? I was tired waiting. So, I took my cat out. The inspector asked where was the cat. What? You blind?
