Service was quick, efficient, and pleasant. 7 people, got a table at lunch time on a Saturday with no wait. No kid menu available but they gave them a crayon and paper. Bathroom was a bit of a mess but it was used quite a bit, almost always a line. Only complaint is price. 3 meals, one drink and $150. Wherever you go on Block Island, expect high prices. With high prices I expect great food. Mohegan restaurant delivers in that regard. With stunning views of the ocean, it is hard not to want to eat here if you plan on visiting Block Island for the day. It is situated right near the ferry terminal of the island, making it an easy lunch spot for those who cannot make the trip to local favorites like The Oar and Deadeye Dick's. If you can get to either of those two spots, go for it. I only hear good things about them. This one is just as good. My Mahi tacos were plentiful, but light and full of flavor. They are a great way to take the edge off before your meal arrives. I also got the fish and chips and it is delicious as well, as is generous. The fish served is haddock, which is a great call. A flaky fish that serves up the goods. I hate it when restaurants give you tilapia. That is an easy cheat and does not provide the consistency a cod, flounder, or halibut would provide. Even salmon is okay. Gasp! Be prepared for a bit of a wait though if you have a large party. Service is also a little slow as they do not have many people working there. A very solid restaurant on Block Island. We ordered take out to eat the food elsewhere on the island. The Fish and Chips ($25) is very solid. Battered and fried just right, not to a crisp. The Hot Lobster Roll ($37) is also really good, especially with the butter on the side, which I think is essential to enhance the taste. I had an enjoyable dinner here! To start I would like to mention that there were no vegetarian entrees which I would've liked so I went for an appetizer main instead. We began with the Caprese stack which we ate down to the soupçons (crumbs). Delicious. For my main I got the fig goat cheese flatbread and found it enjoyable. My partner Clem ordered the chicken pesto pasta and it was quite tasty but but but.... The portion was far too large for any mortal. Good thing Clem isn't a human. Otherwise he wouldn't have been able to finish it. Another member of our party, Clem's mother, received the wrong dish and her fish was overcooked. She politely sent it back and got the proper dish back. They said they would take the wrong dish off the bill but, we didn't order the wrong dish so shouldn't the correct dish have been comped? Regardless the correct salmon entree was enjoyed so thoroughly that Clem's mother had little grievances. The hostess offered us outside seating, but we opted in for inside seating. The restaurant was packed with groups of people. We started with stoli blueberry mojito and a mudslide. Both drinks were very refreshing. We ordered the oysters rockefeller for an appetizer, but it came after our entrees. The server apologized for the delay. The oysters rockefeller was a little different compared to the oysters rockefeller we've had in New Orleans. It was less breading and more oyster flavor. We had the cold lobster roll and coconut shrimp for entrees. Both came with fries. The cold lobster roll was market price and that was $32.95. It was really good. The bun was toasted and there was a good amount of lobster and celery. There is a 3.5% surcharge for credit cards. This is a great restaurant located in Old Harbor across from the ferry landing. They have a decent food and drink menu. I got the goat cheese fig flatbread, and my husband got the Cobb salad with grilled chicken. We visited Mohegan Restaurant and Bar about 1.5 hour before getting on our ferry. Our server was really awesome about asking when we needed to be on the dock and getting our food put in ASAP. We weren't too hungry so we ordered two things to share and the server didn't make us feel weird about that in any way. The Buffalo wings were really good and crispy and the portion size was generous. The chicken and pesto pasta was also fantastic, and we were shocked by how much food we got. We had a pretty frustrating experience trying to prove we were over 21 to order drinks. It started when we asked for a beer and a cocktail. The waitress politely asked for our IDs, which was fine, but then she disappeared for about 20 minutes. When she came back, she said our IDs were fake and that they were going to call the police. I said they should go ahead and call. They didn't end up calling, but the owner took both of our IDs to scan them. Another 15 minutes later, they confirmed the IDs were real. They offered us two rounds of free drinks, but we only accepted one round since that was all we wanted in the first place. What really bothered me was that the owner didn't come out to speak to us directly. Let me start off by saying that Mohegan Restaurant and Bar has the best Mudslide I have. It was a hot day and I was looking all over the island for a good frozen mudslide. I've been to a few places but none have been really good. Until I came here. This Mudslide was thick, full of flavor, the perfect amount of bailey's and creamyness. It was perfect in every way possible. I recommend this Mudslide to try over everywhere else on Block island. The nachos are a great appetizer to share. After departing the ferry from the mainland, we wanted to grab lunch before making our way to our hotel. A lot of restaurants were closed, either for the season or because we arrived after 2 p.m.. The Mohegan Restaurant is right on the main road along the water, so we decided to give it a try. So glad we did! We had our luggage and such with us, so the hostess placed us at a table by the window in the bar area which had a lot of room for our bags behind our booth. Perfect. Our server, Rick - the bartender - was friendly, attentive and chatted about the island, how the season went (with COVID-19), etc. He is definitely an asset. We enjoyed our drinks and food. We started with a cup of New England Clam Chowder. Rick said it was homemade but I have my doubts. Still, it was good. My husband had the smoked pork sandwich, which was smoked in-house and sure tasted like it. I had the tuna tacos. Delicious, fresh chunks of raw tuna nestled in wonton tacos. A great place for drinks at night but not so much for food. High prices for mediocre dishes. We arrived around 8:30pm on a Friday night (open until 10p) and were told by the hostess that we were too late and they were getting ready to close. Confused, the two of us were about to leave until the bartender told the hostess to still seat us at a table. They even sat a party of 6 about 15 minutes after us and stayed open until 10pm like their hours say. It was weird. My lemon Moscow mule was fantastic, and our table server was a kind young gentleman. Would go back to enjoy an evening of candle-lit drinks, but skip the food. read more

Always a great place to stop by when on the island to grab a pint or food. My sister and I decided to get some clam chowder and yellowfin tacos while we enjoyed our local ginger beer and other brews that are made at the brewery. The ginger beer by far is the best that I've ever had. Sweet yet gingery, I opted to get the scotch and tequila mule using that delicious ginger beer. I was very glad that I tried it out. The mix with the ginger beer made the scotch mule better tasting than the tequila one but both were well mixed offering a nice light summer drink after sitting on the beach all day. The food was a nice addition to the drinks, the Fish Tacos had a side of crispy chips that were a little stale but the yellowfin tacos were the main focus with a wasabi slaw, other light and refreshing toppings and the chips I had mentioned before. A raw dish, it had a hint of spiciness but was not too overwhelming. It came together very well. The bartender was knowledgeable of the island's activities recently wrapping up a music festival along with disco night later that night that we sadly couldn't make. You'll need to stop by this cafe every time you come to the island, you will not be disappointed, drop by the off peak times for a more casual setting. read more

The Mohegan Restaurant & Bar is a seafood restaurant, grill and bar that opened in New Shoreham, Rhode Island in 1992. It was founded by trained chef and homebrewer David Sniffen. It was originally known as The Mohegan Cafe & Brewery and operated as a brewpub. For nearly three decades, it was the only brewery on Block Island. The restaurant has changed owners a number of times over the years. The restaurant changed ownership most recently in the beginning of 2020. Since then, they have changed the name to Mohegan Restaurant & Bar and have stopped brewing beer on the premises. Now their focus is on quality meals and craft cocktails. Some of their specialties include fresh seafood entrees, lobster rolls, and juicy burgers. I've visited the Mohegan a couple of times in recent years. On my first visit, they were still known as the Mohegan Cafe & Brewery. My most recent visit was this past weekend. My wife and I were visiting Block Island to celebrate our fourth wedding anniversary. This was actually the last weekend on Block Island before most of the restaurants and shops closed down for the season. For drinks, I started off with a "Screwball Mudslide" (Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey, 99 Grapes Vodka, and Bailey's). The mudslide is the unofficial cocktail of Block Island, and this one did not disappoint. For an appetizer, my wife and I split a plate of their delicious nachos. They really hit the spot. For our lunch entrees, I ordered the Fish & Chips and my wife ordered the Crispy Chicken Sandwich. I've ordered their Fish & Chips before and it is my favorite dish of theirs.
