Guac Burger

Dedicating my final review of 2021 to the only international restaurant I got to experience this year, in Mexico. This is a wonderful vegan gem here in Ensenada! Mojk Tacos Veganos is one of a handful of plant-based joints in town and I was so glad I got to try it on my Ensenada port day during my cruise. They open at 14:00 which felt a bit late for me since I usually eat lunch at noon. But it was so worth the wait to be able to experience another plate of authentic vegan Mexican here in the port city. I ordered two tacos, their guac burger, and a torta - all for a total of about MXP250 - which felt like a complete steal. The taco 'meats' were all made from homemade ingredients shredded and seasoned to resemble their animal counterparts. The tacos were fire and I especially enjoyed the tortillas too - they were homemade and delicious. The guac burger was also a favorite of ours and it came with a side of homestyle potatoes that we saw them slicing and cooking up just for us. Definitely check this spot out if you are vegan or interested in a vegan take on Mexican food. I loved everything here and would definitely return if I'm ever back in Ensenada.

I came to Ensenada only for the afternoon when I got off a cruise ship. I went on a tour which was terrible but we went to Mojk directly after and it saved the day! They have such delicious vegan food options! We got tacos, Chilaquiles, and taquitos. We loved EVERYTHING. The tacos were my favorite though. Highly highly recommend this amazing restaurant :P

I was on a day trip in TJ and friend found this place and I am so glad he did, it is a communal food market place if you will and if you blink you might miss the green entrance that Mojo Vegan Tacos are located, there are other none vegan food courts, beer on the tap and even a stage - place is wonderful but lets get back to my delicious vegan tacos, they have I believe 5 different tacos among other things but I tried all of them and bought seconds becasue they were that food, I mean finger licking good so yes I am a fan. Go support local business. CC accepted.

The best vegan Mexican I've ever had - way better than anything I've ever tried in Southern California or anywhere else!! The nachos are incredible, the chips are perfectly crisp without being oily or soggy, and toppings are perfect. The horchata is freshly made and out of this world. All of the tacos are delicious. The service is polite and the shop is so cute. An incredible meal.

We're traveling with a large group and landed at a place with zero vegan options (beyond chips, salsa, and escabeche). My other non carnivore and I found Mojk half a mile away and loved everything about it! Friendly, incredibly delicious, great little spot. Fresh house made chips, giant portion of guacamole, amazing hibiscus agua fresca, tacos dorados, bomb house made salsas, killer tortas, and several desert options. We will definitely be back!

Review Highlights - Mojk Tacos Veganos

The birria taco tastes like spicy spaghetti and had a texture similar to ramen.

While all the cruise ship passengers are getting their drink on at Papas & Beer (we started there)…read moresave your appetite and head a block away to La Comadre for some of the best tacos you'll ever have. It's not hard to find, but unlike so any other options, it's not loud or flashy. We weren't ushered in by some guy on the street promising "the best" of anything. It's small, but clean.. you order at the counter.. my wife and I were the only gringos in there, and we don't speak Spanish. We were quickly presented with a sample plate of all the meats available for their tacos. The wife and I each got a Birria taco and I also got a chicken taco with some of the best Mole sauce I've ever had. They had a table set up in back with all the fixings and salsas you could ask for and the tacos came with beans and rice. We grabbed a bottle of water from the cooler, and the whole meal came to $13 with a tip!!! I mean, that's an unbelievable value for your money. The tacos were incredible. The beans and rice were delicious and the corn tortillas were homemade and some of the best we've ever had. The wife and I often use Yelp! to find places exactly like this, and once again, it did not disappoint. If you're in Ensenada do yourself a favor and skip all the hype spots and go find this place for some amazing food at incredible prices!!

I liked that they have colorful flags outdoors, which lent to the open and casual feel of this restaurant while also incorporating the Mexican culture. The waiter spoke English and was able to explain the menu. For drinks, I chose the Berry Sangria. This came in a huge glass! Loved the layering of this drink. I also ordered the Tamarind Margarita, which was darker than anticipated. Definitely had a tamarind forward flavor. I also had the oysters , which was nice and meaty but it wasn't as cold as I would like. I also tried the Ceviche De La Casa which had tuna, clams, octopus and tuna. This came accompanied with a bag of tostadas and four types of sauces. I loved the fact that you can adjust the flavoring of your ceviches with the available salsas including bottled ones that are brought to the table! I've never had this type of ceviche before and I was pleasantly surprised with different types of seafood that tasted fresh and vibrant. Definitely a great place to visit that wasn't overly crowded. I'd definitely visit again!

I was so excited to come here because I was on the hunt for a restaurant that served Aguachile! Options for the Aguachiles included Negro, Rojo, or Verde. I opted for the Aguachile Verde. The entire dish was so refreshingly light and palatable. I was obsessed with the taste of the fresh shrimp, cucumber, and red onion, all soaked in the tasty verde sauce and Tajín. It paired so well with the tostadas. It was also priced reasonably at MX$325, equivalent to about $19. The portion and abundance of the Aguachile were plentiful, as I was full when I finished. The ambiance of the restaurant was beautifully inviting and vibrant. I loved the presentation of the colorful, decorative papel picado flags, which added to the celebration of Mexican culture. The atmosphere was amazingly festive as a whole. The customer service was welcoming and friendly. Overall, La Cevichería Oyster Bar did not disappoint with the incredible Aguachile. I highly recommend coming here for that or any seafood dish that you're craving.
