He always takes the time to personally call us after every visit to check on our dogs, which means so much to our family. Recently, our dog Minnie has not been doing well, and Dr. Robby has gone above and beyond by calling us every single day to check on her -- sometimes even twice a day. His compassion, dedication, and genuine concern make such a difficult situation a little easier to handle. Thank you, Dr. Robby, for always being there for our pets. And thank you to everyone at St. Francis Animal Hospital for your continued kindness and support. We are truly grateful.

A Living Nightmare…read more Do not trust this hospital with your pet's life. I am completely shocked by their high rating; my experience here has been an absolute nightmare. Their clinical incompetence and neglect cost my 9yo cat, Miley, precious time that she will never get back. Do not let the high ratings fool you. This clinic is ok for routine checkups and selling cleanings, but they completely lack the clinical competence to handle actual medical issues. They did absolutely no due diligence to investigate my cat's declining condition based on her clear, ongoing symptoms. 1. Misleading Post-Op Guidance & inconsistent medical records Miley was brought in on 5/15 for drooling and underwent dental surgery for tooth resorption on 5/19. Post-surgery, Dr. Lam briefly reviewed X-rays and told me that everything went well. After my request, Dr. Robby spent his time reviewing Miley's blood work and urinalysis, and said she could resume normal activities after three days. After this day, I've never seen Dr. Robby again. The Discrepancy in the Records: I was never told she needed a 10-14 day recheck, nor was I given clear signs of what symptoms to escalate. Yet, when I requested her medical records on 6/15, the clinic had documented that they told me to return for a 10-14 day recheck. This is a deeply concerning inaccuracy in the records and appears to protect the clinic rather than accurately reflect what I was told. 2. Dismissing Ongoing Signs of Decline Miley never returned to normal. She continued to drool, stopped eating well, and was visibly losing weight. I contacted the clinic multiple times (5/20, 5/27, and 6/10), and my concerns were minimized. I was casually reassured that her symptoms were "normal." On 6/10, I sent a video of her physically twisting her jaw while trying to eat. Only then did they tell me to bring her in. 3. Serious Lack of Clinical Judgment At the recheck on 6/11, they took Miley to the back, removed a suture, and confidently claimed this would bring "immediate relief." Because of this medical advice, I held off on pain medication so I could see if she was improving. This visit was a catastrophic failure in patient care: Medically impossible Weight: The medical record listed her weight as 10.6 lbs, the exact same weight as her surgery date weeks prior. Miley was visibly skeletal and much thinner; I do not believe they actually weighed her at all. Zero Diagnostic Thinking: Despite her obvious lethargy, severe weight loss, dehydration risk, and jaw twisting, the vet offered zero deeper discussion, no appetite stimulants, no anti-nausea medication, and no basic skull/jaw X-rays (which do not require anesthesia). 4. Within 36 hours of being sent home with vague reassurances, Miley completely declined: she was dehydrated, barely responsive, and her eyes were unfocused. It was then that I felt a large mass under her chin, which they might have completely missed just a day prior. I rushed her to an ER. ER took her seriously instantly. Within 1 day, they performed bloodwork, an oral exam, and skull/jaw/body X-rays. They immediately put cancer on the table. Miley has now been diagnosed with aggressive, terminal oral cancer. To make matters worse, when I formally reached out via email after the ER visit to demand an explanation, they replied claiming they had "reviewed the records carefully", yet they repeatedly misused Miley's gender throughout the email. This final, careless oversight further discredits everything they claim to do. They fail catastrophically at basic diagnostics, patient care, and attention to detail. The Bottom Line: If they had practiced basic diagnostic investigation instead of dismissing my instincts and minimizing her symptoms, we could have intercepted this weeks earlier to provide timely palliative care. Instead, their pattern of poor communication, lack of urgency, questionable record-keeping, and cold clinical judgment cost us the only thing we had left: quality time. Choosing St. Francis was the worst decision and biggest nightmare of my life.

Banfield quoted us $1900 (that was just an estimate) and were telling us that one k9 tooth was a serious dental work that was needed to be done by a specialist etc. I called plums and they gave me a guesstimated ball park $$ and the cost at the end actually was less than original. Thank goodness!! Saved about $1200!!! They didn't flinch Apr give a long speech about the troubled k9 tooth. They got the job done, took care of my little sausage and we headed home with no issues. I would like to make a comment about the girl on the phone and the front desk ladies, except for one older lady, they were very nice and informative when giving me the quote and explaining he procedure. The one rude older lady could be nicer to make a nervous pet owner a little more comfortable. Overall highly reco. They don't take appointments so get there as soon as they open. In the past they had people waiting for a long time to be seen by a Dr.

**PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU TRULY CARE ABOUT YOUR PET**…read more I'm honestly still shaken writing this. I took my dog to Colima Animal Hospital for what should have been a simple, routine vaccine visit. Instead, it turned into a nightmare. A front desk receptionist ("Terry"), who has been consistently rude, dismissive, and unpleasant every single time I've visited, was the one who administered my dog's injections. I've seen another reviewer mention her attitude too, so this clearly isn't an isolated experience. It's honestly shocking that someone like this is not only the first point of contact, but also handling medical procedures. Within hours, my dog was shaking, lethargic, and struggling to walk. Over the next few days, he got worse--limping, in pain, and clearly suffering. I brought him back multiple times looking for answers, but was dismissed and given incorrect explanations. What's truly unacceptable is that it took two separate visits with two different doctors, and still no one caught what was actually wrong. I ended up reviewing the medical notes myself and found that a vaccine labeled "ORAL" had been documented. When I asked the doctor what would happen if an oral vaccine was injected, she told me she didn't know and suggested I call the manufacturer. I was completely stunned. It took me pointing out the "ORAL" label in their own records for them to finally realize something was seriously wrong. By then, my dog had developed a severe abscess and needed emergency surgery. I literally broke down in tears when I was told this--and instead of reassurance or accountability, I was told "don't cry, it's not serious." That moment alone says everything about the level of care and compassion here. I really wonder, if any of these doctors working here actually care or like dogs/cats, because they don't act like it at all. Watching your dog go through that kind of pain, knowing it could have been prevented is something I wouldn't wish on anyone. The fact that it took multiple visits, multiple doctors, and me figuring it out myself, and still no real accountability or apology made it even worse. Yes, they refunded some costs. That doesn't undo the suffering my dog went through, or the stress and fear I experienced. At the end of the day, you really start to question--if they can't even get a simple vaccine right, is it worth trusting them with your pet's care? My dog is okay now, but this experience completely shattered my trust. Please ask questions, double-check everything, do your own research or investigate if you have to, and advocate for your pets, because situations like this should NEVER happen!

He is incredibly SMART, patient, kind, and has what I can only describe as a magic touch with animals. No matter how anxious or stressed my pets are, they visibly relax the moment he begins handling them. It's something you have to witness to understand. Dr. Adler has also performed multiple surgeries on my animals, all with positive outcomes. His surgical skill, attention to detail, and thorough follow-up gave me complete confidence. Beyond his calm and compassionate demeanor, Dr. Adler is exceptionally intelligent, analytical and deeply committed to his craft. He stays current with clinical research, new therapies, and veterinary advancements, and it shows in the way he practices medicine. He doesn't just rely on old-school knowledge....he is constantly learning, reading veterinary journals and blogs, and applying the most up-to-date, evidence-based care. I originally discovered Dr. Adler when he worked in Eagle Rock, where he was already very well known and highly respected. To this day, many of my neighbors will happily travel all the way from Eagle Rock to La Puente just to continue seeing him and that alone speaks volumes. The staff is also amazing. I become a frantic lunatic over my cats being sick and the staff has had to deal with me crying and/or panicking on multiple occasions..but they're always so understanding and kind which calms me down.--sorry Sammi you're the best. I will also say this: there was one time I didn't follow his advice, and tragically, my cat passed away from exactly what he warned me about. That experience changed me forever. I will never, ever ignore his guidance again. He was right and he cared enough to be honest. HE NEVER RIPS PPL OFF EITHER! He is just not that kind of person once you meet him you'll understand. There's been multiple occasions where I have suggested something like blood work, and he told me I would be wasting my money and it turned out he was right.. If you are looking for a veterinarian who is compassionate, brilliant, gentle with animals, and genuinely invested in their well-being, Dr. Adler is it. I cannot recommend him highly enough!! He informed me that since I was a walk-in, they would assist me as soon as possible after I gave him a brief explanation of what was happening with my dog. They told me to enter the room, so I didn't have to wait long. As I waited, a veterinary technician arrived and questioned me about my dog's symptoms, among other things. About ten minutes later, the veterinarian arrived and examined her in the room. He informed me that she might have pyometra, but further testing was required to be certain. Unfortunately, my dog had to have surgery right away after being diagnosed with pyometra. My dog is everything to me; I've had her for twelve years, since I was eighteen ( I'm 30 now) I would go to any lengths to save her, even if the treatment was costly. After having surgery, fast forward one month later , Roxy is fully recovered. The staff asked me how I was feeling and gave my dog great attention. They were really attentive. Anyone who loves and cares for their dog and wants them to get the best care and attention should visit this place, in my opinion. I want to thank the team once more; words cannot express how much I appreciate them.

There's a sign on the door saying cats need to be in a carrier. No one told me that over the phone. They knew I was bringing a cat. So now I'm being charged an extra $16 for having to buy a cat carrier, the cat carrier is a cardboard box that my cat jumped out of. Right now I'm waiting in the lobby, the staff is talking about the appointment that just walked in. This man also is having an issue with them because they made him two appts and let him decide when to come and now that he's here they're making him wait. So he took his two big dogs outside and I'm just saying It's not good energy to be sitting in the waiting room Hearing the staff talk badly not just about the client that just walked out but also their co worker as well. Wouldn't doubt they were talking about me to too because its awkward since I didn't want to pay for that cardboard box but it was either that or cancel my appt even though I'm here. Staff needs to learn to communicate to their customers better details and in a friendlier manner. The Dr did do a great job in educating me on how to properly care for my cat. I appreciated that, he was very friendly and nice. His helper, the guy was also cool and he was good with my cat. He gave me the breakdown of what is needed and what could wait so that was also helpful especially with last minute care expenses as these. They have a decent size parking lot. They don't over crowd the lobby which is also nice. I feel like this experience could've gone a lot better, but I appreciate the kindness show towards my cat, and the doctors knowledge.
