I cannot say enough amazing things about this veterinary office and their staff. We recently neutered Sunny and Stormi here, and the follow up care has been absolutely amazing so far. After everything that happened recently with Sunny, I was extremely stressed and emotional, but the doctor was so patient, compassionate, and thorough throughout the entire process. She truly took the time to explain everything to us and never made us feel rushed. You can tell she genuinely cares about the animals and the families bringing them in. Today we brought in all three of our cats Sunny, Stormi, and Phoebe for deworming shots and flea prevention medications, and once again they took such incredible care of our babies. All three of our cats seemed so comfortable with both the doctor and the staff, which means a lot because cats can definitely sense when people are kind and gentle. The front office staff was also wonderful. There was an older lady working in the front whose name I unfortunately didn't catch, but she was one of the sweetest people I've ever met. I even saw her walking an elderly woman out to her car, and it honestly touched my heart. That level of kindness and care is rare these days. I'm writing this a bit late, but I wanted to express my deepest gratitude to Dr. Cowan and the entire staff at Pacific Paws Hospital. My beloved Maltese, Tina, who was my best friend, my little sister, and truly my family's entire world for 17 years, passed away on December 30, 2025. During her final months, as she struggled with heart and lung issues due to her age, this team was our lifeline. It was an incredibly difficult and heart-wrenching time for us, but Dr. Cowan and the staff were remarkably compassionate and patient. They treated Tina with such genuine care, as if she were their own, and always made sure she was comfortable and at peace. I found this animal hospital here! I gave it a try after having experienced much frustration with other clinics. My cat Chico was terrified every time we had an appointment at the other clinics. At Pacifica Paws he was more relaxed. The clinic is beautiful with colors the cats and dogs can see (very smart). Dr Joey Cowan was gentle, caring, and patient with my cat. Sadly at 17, his condition was advanced, and even though I was given a course of treatment, we could not save him. Let me tell you that I've had six previous cats, three dogs, and a large rabbit in my life. When I had to put them to sleep, the vets were kind, but the kind of care, understanding, and professionalism I was shown by the Dr and her staff, were unique. A couple of months ago, my cat Rain developed blackheads under her chin. The first vet gave her antibiotic shots and wipes, but there was no improvement. We switched to another vet who shaved the area and prescribed a topical cream--it seemed to help at first, but soon serious infections appeared, likely from a cut during shaving. That's when we found Pacific Paws. Dr. Cowan did a thorough exam and started Rain on antibiotic drops and anti fungal pads. The turnaround was incredible--she's now 95% recovered. Dr. Cowan and her team are not only highly experienced, especially in dermatology, but also incredibly kind and responsive. I once received a reply just 10 minutes after emailing a question in the late evening . Truly grateful for their care. read more

From the moment we walked it we were helped , the clinic is clean and my dog usually freaks out at the vets offices but not today ! We were seen by a wonderful veterinarian who did a thorough exam , explained to me what was happening and why , she then gave me the plan of care and some medication. We had an emergency tooth situation over New Years so I called the clinics I normally take my pets to and they were just so unhelpful and seemed to really not want to take him without a bunch of barriers and all the focus was more on money. I called here based on Yelp review and I am not disappointed. Staff is super helpful, nice and thoughtful. I recommend checking it out. They are really polite, helpful, and informative on what services they provide along with what they are gonna do to your fur babies. I took my cat to get spayed here and was a little nervous as to how she was going to do and recover. The ladies at the front desk let us know what was going to happen and all. The doctor called after the procedure ended to let us know she was in recovery. Afterwards when we came to pick up our little fur baby, the doctor talked to us and let us know more about what happened with the kitty and what to look out for afterwards while she recovered. They even called and messaged back a couple days or a week after her surgery to check up on how she was doing.
