    Bug in cheese sandwich
    Mel T.

THE ULTIMATE TOURIST TRAP. Stopped in on a Sunday at around 11 am for a quick light bite to eat. I ordered the tartine fromage, which was the most pathetic excuse of a cheese sandwich I've ever seen. It was literally one cheese slice sandwiched in between two slices of old bread. Airplane sandwiches are gourmet compared to this one. If that wasn't bad enough, after I ate half, I FOUND A BUG IN IT! The waiter tried to run off right after offering to replace it but no way did I want another one. My husband ordered an omelette, which took forever to come out. It came out after we found the bug in the sandwich, and the omelette didn't look anymore appetizing. It was dry and overcooked. We were already turned off from earlier but still, he braved a few bites before we just paid for our disgusting omelette and left.

We came here 4-5 times in a span of two weeks, that's how much we loved this place! Absolute favourite breakfast place in all of Brussels!!! I have gotten the Nature eggs multiple times and it's always been so great and silky. The waffle here is pretty good and so are the omelettes! My favourites here however are the Belgian hot chocolate and the Belgian coffee - best ever!!! I tried hot chocolate at so many places in Brussels and paris and honestly this place was my favourite!!! Absolutely recommend!

It is my second time trying Brussel waffles, but compared to the ones I had yesterday at a place called "Belgium Waffles", this is a dream!! The waffles are light and airy, with the perfect crisp on the outside. I got mine lightly dusted with sugar, and it was just the best mid-morning pick-me-up one could ask for. I also got a cappuccino, which was quite milky but smooth. Needed a bit of warmth given the crisp cold November air!

This spot was a stop in our Belgian Discovery tour. Great location as they are in the Les Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert. Our Guide quickly grabbed a few of the open outdoor tables. Great to sit outside and enjoy the view of the Gallery. We could have a waffle and choice of drink. I got a Hot Chocolate. Waffle was light, just right sweet and topped with delicious whipped cream. Hot Chocolate was perfect-strong cocoa flavor. Some had Espresso drinks and enjoyed them. Service was quick and friendly. A great spot for a coffee and pastry refuel and don't miss the waffle.

5 stars for letting us use the toilet without buying anything. Still we decided to sit and have a drink because of their kind offer. I ordered the Belgium cappuccino and my partner ordered the hot chocolate with chartreuse. The hot chocolate was amazing, gave us a nice buzz. The cappuccino was also nice, wish there was more whipcream. Quiet and chill vibe here. They also offer a lot of savory and sweet dishes.

Located in the Saint Hubert Gallery. The ambience is quiet and peaceful. The windows above shining natural light on you as you eat. The latte and coffee drinks are nice and strong! TheBelgian waffle the Belgium waffle is one of the best in city, it's crispy on the outside and very light and fluffy on the inside while served hot! The scrambled eggs and the omelette are excellent too!

This cafe is located right in the center of the galleries - a good place to stop for tea, beer, or food after shopping. However, I enjoyed the location of it much more than the actual food. We ordered the carbonade (beef stew) and meatballs in tomato sauce, and both were very ordinary cafeteria food. The fries were also the blandest I had in Belgium (more like frozen fries).

A place to avoid. Nice looking cafe in a galleria and the vibe seemed good as we walked by this place several times during our stay in Brussels. But the waitstaff was hella rude and that just cannot be. I ordered eggs and asked that they be scrambled and well done. Waiter seemed to understand well what I was asking for. I hate runny eggs. They came with a baguette and other items which are hardly worth mentioning at this point. But the eggs arrived runny and I had to ask the waiter to take them back for a little more cooking. I know this is not ideal but with eggs, it is a must for me. Waiter was a little put off by the request, I could tell, but seemed ok. He took the eggs back and in a few minutes another guy that looked like the owner or chef, came back with my eggs, dropped them off without a word and grabbed my half-eaten baguette and walked away quickly. The eggs were still runny and inedible for me. That is pretty much the end of the story. Dude should have at least cooked the eggs sufficiently and should not have taken my food without asking me first. When there is rudeness involved, nothing else really matters. I would avoid this place.

We came here for lunch on a weekday and it wasn't crowded at all. I love the location of the restaurant. The galeries is such a beautiful place and with great chocolate shops. We ordered cappuccinos, scrambled eggs, and the plain Belgian waffle. The scrambled eggs came in big portions which was a nice surprise considering the cheap price. The side salad made the dish more refreshing. Can't complain about the dish. The Belgian waffle was amazing!! It was light and crispy and just sweet enough to my liking. I feel like I could eat 10 of these at once. Definitely will be dreaming of these waffles forever.

I came here because I read about it online! I just got a cappuccino and waffle while I was there. They were both pretty good! The restaurant is located in a convenient as well, as it's in the Royal Galleries. It was a nice cozy place to stop in during the rain. The food was served pretty quickly as well. However, I'm docking a star because of how long it took me to get my check at the end. I had to wait several waiters until I finally got my check after 15 minutes.

We stopped in for something sweet while we were galavanting through the streets of the historic centre of Brussels and were so glad that we did. I had a slice of pie flambe with vanilla ice cream. It was scrumptious! Others in our group had waffles and said they were the best ever. Also pretty scrumptious were the coffee and chocolate beer selections. And although they were crazy busy our waiter was awesome and even spoke with us for a few minutes. Good choice on this one!

This is a great place to be if you are looking for a quiet hangout on a cold day. The waffle was the most perfect waffle I have yet to have. It was so light, so airy, and just enough substance to keep you wanting more. The toppings not too sweet and the whipped cream was perfect. My expectations on the taste and texture of a waffle will never be the same again.

As soon as I arrived to Brussels, I immediately want to get some waffles. This place is near our hotel so I stopped by for a quick bite. The waffle is warm and crispy on the outside, topped with powder sugar and whipped cream plus a glass of OJ on the side. I also ordered a glass of beer to go with it. It's hard not to drink beer in Belgium. Service is alright in my opinion, it was also a little confusing on how they sit us at the beginning. It's probably because we are not local but overall, I enjoyed it.

The decor was gorgeous, elegant, classic, and very quaint! Service was phenomenal and it's a small establishment so you feel very appreciated.

Then,…read moreduring my first visit to Lille, in France, home to one of the three Méert shops (the other being in Paris), I sampled their gaufres. Or rather, fell in love with their gaufres. The vanilla filling is to die for. We've taken visiting friends to Méert and bought more and more of their gaufres, but never had we actually eaten in. We decided, after seeing their luxurious looking tarts, that we had to try them. When we arrived, all the tables out front in the Galeries Royales Saint Hubert were full, as well as the small number of tables in the actual shop. We ordered our tarts and only had to wait about five minutes before a free table opened up and we were seated. We ordered the Tarte Yuzu and the Jardin D'Eden. You can read the description of both, and all the others, in the pictures I attached. We also ordered tea. I recommend smelling all the teas in the shop before you decide on which one to order, as they all sound delectable. The tartes were amazing. So we'll prepared. The Yuzu was both of our favorites, but the Jardin D'Eden, a pistachio confectionery, was in no way bad, we just preferred the Yuzu, mint and lemon confit, and the hazelnut crunchy layer. When we come been, and we definitely plan on coming back, we're going to get another Yuzu and try a different tarte for tarte number two for next time.
