We were told we had to get a waffle while in Belgium, so we did. Chocolate and spekuloos for the win! Ooey, gooey deliciousness, and sloppy as all get out, but well worth it! There were several varieties to choose from, but when you're in a place known for their chocolate, you buy one with chocolate. My only "complaint" is that the fork they give you isn't durable, so you end up mostly using your hands and getting covered in said chocolate. Make sure you bring/ask for napkins. This isn't a sit down place, you get your waffle and happily stroll down the street stuffing your face with it. Enjoy! 30/2020

I did not try any other waffle places while in Belgium so I could be a little biased, but I loved this place! There are so many options and I loved the huge display of waffle options in front of the store. What I ordered: we went several times during our stay in Brussels. My favorite flavor combos were either simply a waffle w chocolate or Nutella and/or Nutella with ice cream. (We got stroopwafel. I would highly recommend it if you haven't tried it.) I would personally skip out on the whipped cream. It wasn't worth the mess. These places are located all over the city! Don't miss out!

You must get a Belgian waffle when in Belgium! The display cases and waffle aroma pulls you in and it's a delight to your senses. There are so many varieties to customize your Belgian waffle loaded with toppings. I opted for the powdered sugar and chocolate drizzle topping. It was served fresh, hot and sweet and service was fast and efficient.

One of my first stops in Brussels was to get a waffle and this is the first spot I stumbled on. It is on the way to the Mannequin Pis so it is perfect for a grab and go. The waffles were good and they come with all sorts of toppings. I prefer the Liege style waffle but the Brussel waffles isn't bad. This one came with a lot of whip cream and toppings. Had to scoop some off after eating half the waffle. This spot looks like it might be a chain which isn't a bad thing. Maybe there are better waffles out there but if you get this one you won't be upset. Check it out.

What's not to love about this place? Waffles come out quick, warm and delicious! I always love to order a plain Liege waffle because they are so tasty on their own and seriously don't need any sort of toppings. Each bite is buttery and just sugary softness...wow. However they also have a Brussels style waffle of course, which is the rectangular shaped one. My boyfriend ordered one with Nutella and they drenched it in it!! Woowoo! After you have your waffle, go for a stroll mucnhing away on these heavenly bites. These are only about a euro each by the way....PLEASE DO get a waffle when in Belgium...it is a must!

One of the places I wanted to try for a Belgian waffle- located in the heart of Brussels. Can be overwhelming as there are lots of tourists and there is a line up- but they managed to serve everyone efficiently. Very touristy but the prices for waffles all around the area were about the same. We chose this one because they had the biggest line up which is always a good sign and it did not disappoint!

Belgian waffles won my heart while I was there, and La Gaufrerie was one of my spots! They have a wide variety of waffle toppings to choose from and the display outside the store is beautiful! They also have these cones with waffle pieces and toppings to make it easier to take your waffles to go, which is really nice!! Everything there is super delicious, although I did like the waffles across the street better. I think these were just a little bit less expensive. Overall, I recommend!

4 stars to this location. We went actually 2 times, the first time we couldn't stop, since the line was insanely long. So we decided to explore the city and come back later. The shop is small. They have 20 different flavor- toppings. They make them at the moment, super fresh. They are delicious. I got mine raspberry and cheesecake, my daughter gots hers Nutella and strawberries. If you ever visit the city of Brussels, this place is a must!

Best fried in all of Belgium!! Better than the fries we tried in Amsterdam by a long shot.

We had never eaten here before, but from just looking through the window, it seemed like the best place to find good waffles. Our instincts were spot on!! My husband and I ordered different waffles so we could both get to taste two flavors. Both flavors were absolutely delicious. It's hard to find words to say how good they were. We didn't want to stop eating them. Our new companions seemed to agree with us. They were all smiles at having stuck with us as we scrambled to find the shop while needing to catch a train to leave town by a certain time. The service could have been better -- but after the first bite of their waffles, I stopped caring about service.

I came by at 9:45 and was told they opened at 10, came back at 10:05, they said another 20 mins. I went to Frite and ordered my liege waffle (costs 3€ here as opposed to the 2.50 at Funambule). They just reheat the waffle in the iron. Service is much better here, nice and kind. The waffle itself was denser and sweeter than the Belgian waffle. I actually preferred this because of the crunchy bites and I didn't mind that some of it was a little floppy- it made for good bite ratios.

I left to find something else but tried my luck & coming back. Glad I did! They have wine, but as I was told, beer is their thing. The food was excellent and the staff are colorful and efficient as the flow between tables! I had the meatballs (2 large ones), meals come with a small salad and a side & bread! The beer selection is wide. Mostly Belgium ones. Other tables had what looked like delicious tuna, lasagna and stew which they all seemed to enjoy.

No reservations, so you have to wait in line. Luckily, the line moved pretty quickly and we were able to be seated inside. -service was great. The fabulously dressed flamboyant gentleman was kind and helpful. The sassy woman was hilarious! -Portions are pretty decently sized and priced fairly Why three stars? I just didn't enjoy anything that we ordered. Sadly, it was my least favorite meal that we had in Belgium. Based on all the reviews, I think it's clear that it's not the place per se, but what I was looking for. That being said, I still must be honest. What we ordered: Cheddar Croquettes (2 for 14 Euros): Just ok and this was one of the things that I felt was overpriced Carpaccio of Smoked Beef with White Truffle Oil (18 Euros): Again, just ok Meatloaf with "Jack Pepper" sauce (26 Euros): "Jack Pepper" means something different in Brussels. It was basically a peppercorn gravy. I wasn't a fan, but Jim G. enjoyed it. With this, we had frites and a small side salad. I know many people recommend that Flemish Beef Stew, but we already had that at Fin de Siecle, and I couldn't imagine that any place would top it, so we didn't get it here. Ultimately, this place isn't for me, but I seem to be in the minority.

He reminded us of a combination of Neil Fak (from The Bear) and Lazlow (from What We Do in the Shadows). He was coordinating the line, seating, and gave outstanding recommendations, as well as praise, when we picked our wine. We were quoted about 45 minutes to wait, as they don't take reservations. A two-top opened up inside and Julian was concerned that it would be too hot, so he made me go inside to check first. Thankfully, it was right by the open area leading to outside, so we took it and were seated in about 20 minutes, rather than 45. The place was packed the entire time we were there; its reputation certainly precedes it. Good energy and beautifully decorated with stunning art inside. Carbonades a la Biere (beef stew; 19.45 Euros) is their speciality and was delicious! So reasonably priced for the flavor and te size of the dish! After Julian mentioned that the lamb is the best dish on the menu, there was no question that I was ordering it. Jarret d'Agneau Roti (Roasted Lamb Shank; 27.35 Euros) was so very good! Full of Rosemary and so tender! As Julian was running by, I quickly asked him: "Tiramisu or Tarte Tatin?" No hesitation, he replied, "Tarte Tatin." I wasn't sure if he actually put the order in for us or not, but then it arrived at our table and it was delicious! Pear Tarte (8.65 Euros) with a side of ice cream. Not too sweet, with lovely spices in the pears. Cash only, always a line, but totally worth it!
