Very disappointed with my experience I clearly told the woman at the front desk that I wanted gel polish only and absolutely no acrylic because I'm trying to grow out my natural nails and keep them healthy. She recommended powder gel and assured me it would be a good option, so I agreed. I was then sent to another technician, and after filing and working on my nails, I realized they had done acrylic nails instead. I was very clear about what I wanted from the beginning, so I'm extremely disappointed that my request was not respected. I liked my toes but the service itself was just ok. No time to soak in the foot spa, no sea salt in the water, no sugar scrub, no foot massage. Pretty basic pedicure. The salon looked a bit old. The massage chair didn't function well enough to truly be called a massage chair. On the other hand, everyone was very friendly and polite. The price was average for a pedicure, $35. read more

I decided to give this place a try. I read some really bad reviews but I'm happy I went and ignored some reviews. Not every place is for everyone but this one is for me! Sam did my nails and he did exactly what I asked for! I read some people complaining about Sam, that he doesn't talk and blah blah. He was really nice to me and he was super concentrated on what he was doing. Which I prefer! Thank you Sam, you did an amazing job! And ladies if you want to go to a nail place to gossip or talk about whatever don't complain your nails didn't come out the way you wanted lol Sometimes they need concentration and your talking is taking that from them! I am a teenager and today I went here for a dip mani. It was my first time and I was a little nervous from some of the reviews. Sam did my nails, and I have to say, I'm obsessed with my nails. I got a whitish-blue color on some of my nails and white french tip on the others. The only problem I had was that there wasn't a huge color selection, including they don't have a baby/light blue, the color on the design I had planned to get (I changed my idea). These are 100% some of the best french tips i've ever gotten! They are so precise and perfect! Some of my nails were short, which I thought would be a problem, but he made sure it wasn't! Got French tips but there was no base coat so you could see my real nail through the acrylic and they were really ugly. I made an appointment with them and they took me almost 30 minutes later because another customer wanted more detail to their nails. He complained and then ended up adding whatever she wanted. The tech repeatedly left the table to clean, answer phones, check on other customers etc. I never had a nail appointment take this long. read more

I usually don't leave reviews but this experience left me in pain and also bleeding. I went in on my way home from work (should have went to my normal nail guy but how hard is it to soak off acrylics and do a gel manicure)? It took and hour of painful, burning grinding with the nail drill (I said "ow it's super hot" and he said "oh sorry it's hot" like 3 times) and 30 mins if acetone for them to finally get my previous nails off. So much grinding and so much damage to my nails. A woman next to me kept making shocked faces and mouthed the words "never again" and walked out on her pedi. I was cringing the entire time because I thought he was going to drill all the way to my skin. The lady getting the pedi asked the woman to slow down because she was being careless and fast and all she said was "this is how I do it." That's when I knew I had to put my foot down and leave once my nails were back to a normal shape. I figured I needed the manicure after all of the abuse my nails had been through and the man cut me 3 times on my cuticles and kept putting this weird blue stuff on my bleeding nails to stop them from bleeding, that are now inflamed and sore and scabbed. I draw blood for a living and this was just insane. On top of that, he kept putting a used acetone cotton ball on my wound. OWA OWA. I have NEVER had such a terrible experience. I still paid and tipped $2 which I now regret. I am in so much pain. In addition, he didn't soak my hands for the mani and treated my cuticles like he was working with heavy machinery. I was cringing in pain the entire time. After 1.5 hours of nothing, I said I ran out of time and left. He didn't even have me wash my hands after grinding my nails for an hour before applying lotion and putting excruciating pain on pressure points on my hand, for a "massage" so he was rubbing nail debris into my skin for a couple minutes which felt like an exfoliating face scrub out of nail nastiness. Im so utterly disappointed. I had a pedi done here a few weeks ago and it was ok, but fast. Massage chairs are gross and broken and the staff seemed to not care at all about their clients. I know they lost two customers for life today and I'm just so upset about my painful nails. Go somewhere else and do yourself a favor. read more

I went to Helens nail place when they used to be called Hollywood Nails over at grand river and haggerty in Farmington. My friend and I followed them to their new location in west Bloomfield at 14 Mile And Haggerty. Their new place is really nice. It's simple but comfortable and clean. Helen and her sister and husband still work there and they do an amazing job as usual on the nails. I asked for a custom design last time, basically gold flakes on top of a French manicure. This time I decided with the holidays approaching to do something reminiscent of this season. So I asked for a deep red color on my toes mixed with some gold swirls. And for my nails, I found a picture of white and gold snowflake designs and Helen was able to replicate it perfectly. My only recommendation would be for them to get some nail polish with smaller gold glitter. Other than that, the experience was five stars! The staff is welcoming and friendly and really cares about making sure you leave happy. Also, they have a $35 mani pedi deal. Can't beat that! I highly recommend! Check them out! Horrible. Do NOT go here. I've been doing acrylics for years and came in for a fill. I had two broken pinky nails and needed them repaired. Molina (the owner?) did my set. She didn't shape them the way that I wanted to--not an issue, I just tried to re explain what I wanted. However, she did not understand and tried to fix again, but it still wasn't what I wanted, so I tried to re-explain. Then she got super angry and just was like "Fine" and pulled off the acrylics and started to re drill my finger. She was drilling my nail bed SUPER hard and aggressively and it was painful! Then I noticed that the side of my finger is bleeding...she sliced it with the acrylic drill because she was drilling so hard. I was like "Um I think you just cut me with your drill" and she goes "yeah," not even apologizing. Literally worst experience ever at a nail salon and the shape looks terrible at the end. Also, they say a gel fill in costs 22 but then told me that the gel I picked is 35-like ok? A million other salons nearby, go somewhere else read more

First time trying Molina's nails at 14 and haggerty. I really liked the lady who did my nails and thought they did a good job. However, 3 stars due to salon being short staffed and therefore rotating employees for completion of nails- I did not find this professional and was not a fan. I would prefer the same person to start and finish my nails rather than jumping around to other consumers throughout duration of my time there. read more

Worse service in my life! I will never visit another nail shop out of fear of seclusion, intimidation, humiliation and safety. Any sound consumer beware of this place. Went in for a pedicure and was offered service of what seemed to be an kn experienced teen who nervously shook like a leaf while cutting down toenails. Took a turn for the worse when began to start pedicure dry and cut cuticles which lead to trauma to my big toe. When I informed her of the pain and soreness she said ok and I asked her not to continue. At that time a adult male took over pedicure and proceeded with trimming and all but my toe was still really sore which I informed him of and let him know the teen cut my toe. I also explained how this was just not an enjoyable experience and would not like to proceed with any polish and would like to leave and how much did I owe for service. I was told 25 dollars which I paid and then was told I cause them trouble and would not be leaving until I could let them take a photo of my toe. I was then surrounded by three employees who were irate yelling and shouting and then locked the door when I proceeded to leave. I did inform them that I wanted the employees name and to see license that she also had to do manicures which they could not show me. They were very upset and blamed me for causing them trouble for complaining about a sore big toe. I had to bang on shop window door and scream for help when a man saw me locked in shop they then suddenly unlocked the door. I was on the phone calling 911 at that point. When I tell you this is the most horrific experience I have ever encountered while trying to experience some relaxation. Will never want to go to a nail shop again out of fear. Please be careful where you choose to do enjoyable things like getting a pedicure. I gave one star because was not allowed to give zero stars! read more
