Unfortunately, as time moves on, things change, and so for the good of those seeking help, I've decided to update my review to reflect the current reality. Particularly over the last year, Avesta has sought to rapidly expand, and things have seemed to dramatically decline. Staff turnover became commonplace, and finding enough staff to service appointments seemed to become a struggle. Worse still, the care became very inconsistent. I started having a lot of problems with IV's not being properly done, or the NP not even being able to insert the IV catheter. It got to the point where I was actually afraid to go to my appointments. Each week I was essentially receiving an infusion from a stranger, some of whom were really not very good at their jobs. There were times I didn't feel safe when I had to go alone. Once, I pressed the emergency button, and nobody came. In order to have any impact on the underlying depression, mindset during a Ketamine infusion is critically important. I found more and more that my infusions stopped working. As existing problems continued and new problems arose, my concerns fell on deaf ears. I even contacted Ladan Eshkevari with the help of my therapist to try to explain concerns around my treatment at her clinics. She didn't seem to want to hear about any problems. Every time I tried to talk to her about it in person, she shut me down. As the problems continued, I became more disinclined to express concerns because she always became so defensive and combative when I did. My epiphany that care is less important than profit to Avesta came recently when I woke up very sick one morning. I was so ill I passed out and fell on the floor, with a horrible headace and vomiting. My husband insisted on immediately taking me to Urgent Care, but I was supposed to have an infusion appointment that day, so I texted "Dr." Eshkevari to let her know why I wouldn't be there. Her response was to insist that I still pay the full price of the treatment I didn't receive. Finally, I put the "Dr." in quotes when referring to Ladan Eshkevari because, while she does hold a PhD in physiology, she is not a medical doctor, and I feel like Avesta is sometimes a little misleading on that point.
