You can really feel the mix of modern boutique style with charming historic touches. The bed was super comfortable and everything felt fresh and upscale without being overly stuffy. We also ate at the on-site restaurant Heirloom and the food was pretty good. The service was friendly and attentive which made for an overall great dining experience. We also stopped by the rooftop bar which had beautiful views and a nice relaxed vibe. I had coffee at the bar in the morning and it was phenomenal--a toasted marshmellow iced latte with white chocolate cold cream! Beyond the rooms and restaurant the whole hotel has a welcoming stylish atmosphere that makes you feel like you're staying somewhere special. They have a concessions area (cash only), but they also catered our event, serving pastries for breakfast and hot lunch which was invariably good. The only technical issues that occurred were the kind of things that I've seen occur in every conference center I've been in (which is quite a few). So, where did the last star go. Two issues: 1st the chairs were not the most comfortable, which if your having a banquet or something is not a huge problem, but our training was from 8 to 5 so, you really get to know how comfortable the chairs are. Second, it could use a bit of an update decor wise. Not sure what it was, it just looked like an old building.
