This place came highly recommended but I've been sorely disappointed. They treat you like a number- bounce around to different midwives would wouldn't be an issue meeting everyone except they don't seem to read your chart or pick up where you left off. You better hope you don't have any pregnancy complications or 1- they will charge the crap out of you because it is out of their "ordinary care" 2- good luck getting decent care with these complications while you bounce between midwives. Ramona and Tiffany were good but don't make up for the crappy experience I had throughout my whole pregnancy. I could fill this review with issue after issue I had with this place (and more than one mom doc location) but I don't have that much free time. Bottom line- Unless you're 100% certain you can have a natural, uncomplicated pregnancy go find a real OB practice. Oh and billing is a bit of a mess too. Still trying to get them to set some things straight with my insurance company that they messed up on their end... and I delivered 3 months ago. Good luck. Update: THEY STILL HAVENT FIXED THE BILL ISSUE ON THEIR END AND THEREFORE MY BILL CANNOT BE PAID TO LAB CORP AND IS SITTING IN COLLECTIONS. STILL. They seem to be able to respond better on Yelp than when you or your insurance company try to call and get them to do their job to fix their mistake. read more

I've had a great experience with MomDoc Midwives. I'm here for my second pregnancy. I appreciate their more natural approach, yet they are still willing and able to prescribe more medical means if necessary. I also love that I can get in very quickly. I had my son in January of '13 and went here for my appointments/check-ups/etc. They were kind, polite, happy, sweet and overall AMAZING. So when I was fed up with my prior OB/GYN for typical wellness things, I decided to call them. The receptionist was so kind and didn't make me feel awkward for explaining my concerns with my body. She got me in for an appointment that worked very well for me and I'm excited to have them as my primary OB/GYN from now on and especially for my future babies! read more

This is one of those cooperate doctors offices which means that you are unfortunately treated like an investment or payment instead of a person. When you call you are calling a call center. I've asked to speak to a provider and kept getting nurse Ashley who seemed to be on a power trip and kept repeating the rules to me and backing it up with what the office manager said about the rules, and followed that up with another nurse who spoke with Ashley and also regurgitate the rules to me. All because I missed 1 appointment.....I keep hearing well the rules say you have to make EVERY APPOINTMENT. I live 45 minutes away from the office and have showed up for an appointment in the past and the office was closed, but I miss 1 appointment where they check the baby's heart rate, weigh me, and check my blood pressure and all I keep hearing is how I must come in for a 5 minute appointment. I considered changing providers in my 3rd trimester with my first child because 1. I had a midwife tell me my medication was a class C drug without checking (it was not) 2. I showed up at a scheduled time with lab work to the office being closed and 3. I was told I was GBS negative and that was NOT TRUE. They rattle off rules and facts without checking and it's just annoying and rude. read more

My sister had the WORST EXPERIENCE at this place .! First visit she had to ask for blood work , had to ask question . So I went with her today and they lied over and over again! My sister needs to be on home health . And they were supposed to run it thru the insurance on Monday , so her appointment was today Thursday (&- they had not run it thru the insurance yet) and my sister called the insurance when we got to her house and the insurance said NOTHING has been ran through. So they lied to our face ! And my sister called and she said I'm tired of being lied to and doing your job .! The assistants are horrible .!! Worst place ever . Beautiful place. Okay first off, super weird how they dont have a front desk. The (young) receptionist sit on couches around you while pregnant women sit on the chairs and as soon as you walk in, they are right in your face. I also feel like there is a level of fakeness. Today I had my 12 week prenatal visit. When I scheduled the appointment it was confirmed that I will be listening to the heartbeat and having an ultrasound to measure the baby. When I got there they told me I can listen to the baby's heartbeat but they couldn't do the ultrasound. Ok. First I noticed how they didn't ask me to pee in a cup to test for protein in my urine. This is important to me because I had GD last pregnancy. When the midwife, Becky, came in she said, "oh I see you can't pee today, which is fine..." and I said what?! No one asked me to. She didn't seem to care. She then said, "so your blood work looks great and the cyst on your ovary hasn't grown" AGAIN, WHAT?!?! No one during my last two ultrasounds told me I had a cyst on my ovary. She said it's normal and not to worry. Ok, but why wasn't this brought to my attention?? I have the right to know. Very upsetting. Most cysts go away but there is still a possibility it can grow, twist, burst, cause pain and may need to be removed down the road. Very upsetting!!! Again, Becky didn't seem to care. I requested to see Dr. Guzman but was denied. Becky then attempts to listen to the baby's heartbeat. She can't find the heartbeat and says "usually you can hear it at 11 1/2 weeks..." I start crying and asked to see Dr. Guzman. She grabbed her stuff and left the room, unbothered. A different midwife came in to tell me Dr. Guzman couldn't see me today and offered to look for the baby's heartbeat herself. I said no and requested an ultrasound instead. The ultrasound tech found the heartbeat and the baby was very active and everything is fine. But thanks to Momdoc Midwives I'm traumatized by this experience. read more

Due to new insurance my choice for gynecologists is very limited. My annual well woman exam turned into 4 appointments and over $900 out of pocket after insurance. I did need a followup colposcopy for HPV but I have had the same procedure at other practices for half the cost and my visits entailed only 2 not 4. I think they have figured out the insurance game and have you come in multiple times to get the billing dollars. Next year I will skip the providers on my insurance and go to Planned Parenthood. read more

I like Ramona Joseph, the only of many pregnancy care providers I've met, who acknowledged that SPD is not "normal pregnancy pains." There is ultrasound facility within their location and they have managed to have free slots whenever I needed one, no separate appointments. Props for the covered parking structure. The staff is also mostly receptive and responsive. However, I think they can do better with their procedures. 1. They don't give you test results over the phone, even if they are normal. I am not sure of the logic of their policy, but if you're working, that means you have to take time off for no reason and pay for a visit even if there are no concerns. I have never been to a practice where they are unwilling to even mention IF there is a problem that needs further discussion with the doctor. For a normal pregnancy where you are meeting with a midwife at regular intervals, this is obviously not a problem but for my well visit, they wanted me to come back in only to tell me that everything was fine. In any case, NONE of the midwives really has the habit of thoroughly discussing blood work results - you have to keep questioning them, if at all you can figure out what questions to ask. 2. I have never, ever been talked to about insurance coverage and costs up front. Want an advanced test because you feel like it? Here is the referral. You are asking about that test? Heck, do it. I was bounced back and forth between them and a lab for a genetic test when I inquired about costs. I truly don't understand how they can be the first point of contact / referring doctor and not give cost estimates and how insurance may cover it. Billing department flat out said they have NO information on insurance or billing or any general info. After getting NO information and being assured by the harmony people that *most* insurances cover it, I was stuck with the whole bill because I didn't qualify and NONE of the involved entities could tell me whether or not I qualified or why. 3. I think the med assistants can be trained better. In four visits, I had new recruits twice. I had no issue with the extra time it took for the first to check me in, but my visit today was terrible. The new recruit was slow, inefficient and took a LOOOONG time to enter information on the ipad, but that wasn't even the issue. She was trying to gather information that I had already given on my first well visit as well as my first maternity visit. I was in the midst of miscarrying, and she was re-asking me questions like "do you experience irritability or bloating before a menstrual period?!!!" I was already pretty upset, and I was ready to show her what my non-PMS-irritability was like. She took 10 long minutes trying to find a phone number to the CVS nearest me (which she finally could not find). She kept asking for dates of miscarriage and last menstrual period and previous births and pap smears and ... when asked why this information wasn't available to her when I had already submitted all the information, she simply said "I am supposed to ask these questions." I realize now that I should have simply asked for someone else to help me or help her. Unfortunately for me, I had other things on my mind at the time. 4. The check in process is an attempt at being cool. I like being able to settle in while being individually attended to by a med assistant. I also love that you don't have to fill long forms - the med assistants ("concierge") ask you questions and you just answer them so they enter it. However, the ipads are a clumsy way to check in. To me, they seem to struggle to balance the ipad with one hand and enter info with the other. There is a lot of data entry happening, and a touch screen keypad is clumsy for the purpose. I had to correct the door number to my address twice (abcd entered as acbd, abdc, etc.) At least have a couple of dockable keypads for checking in new patients who have a boat-load of information to give. 5. All appointment scheduling is done by a central agency for Momdoc/Goodman&Partridge and this is a convoluted and error-prone process. I once called to advance an appointment to a couple of days earlier since I was going out of town rather suddenly. I was flatly told that I couldn't make an appointment earlier than the first trimester 4 week interval. Not an issue if you're talking in person to a PS there. Another time I rescheduled, they had no documentation of the schedule change though they managed to sneak me in. Forget about it if you need immediate help with timing (say, if you are on the way but 15 mins late). Also, it'd be nice to have a sign somewhere by the road so people don't spend 20 mins scratching their heads and driving around trying to find the office. read more

I give Dr Guzman 5 stars but the staff and Melissa the midwive gets 1 star. My appointments kept getting move to other days. The third move I show up after diving over an hour away to be told we called you this morning yeah more like 33 mins before the appointment. She looked right at my husband and I and lied to our face. I needed results and asked if it had to be Guzman or someone else could give it to me was told over the phone only the doctor. Today though when they were cancelling my appointment said I could see a midwive for the results so saw Melissa. She walked into the room didn't even introduce herself handed me my results said it's good and follow up with your doctor and walked out took maybe 1 to 2 minutes max. I will not be going back after driving over and hour to be treated so terribly no thank you. I'll find another doctor closer to home. read more

We had our daughter 5 days ago and I'm writing this review because I'm thrilled with our experience with the midwives at this practice! I had my heart set on having the safest most natural and non-medicated birth possible, so I ended up interviewing plenty of doctors and midwives. I'm typically not a fan of G&P and only switched to MomDoc because Tiffany who had become my midwife moved to MomDoc herself. I was appreciative that the midwives encouraged me to schedule appts with all the different midwives so that I would already have met whomever was on call during my labor. I absolutely loved the kindness, support and reassuring nature of the midwives that I met, Monica, Ramona, Tiffany and Keli and would highly recommend them to anyone! Tiffany encouraged me to ask for everything I wanted in my birth plan (including no hep lock/IV as long as labor was going smoothly and I could keep fluids down, different birth positions and having my husband catch the baby!) and Keli who helped deliver our daughter honored it to a tee. Keli's presence was absolutely amazing, calm and quiet as my natural labor unfolded and never letting us feel like we needed to rush the process. Then she was incredibly active and helpful during the pushing phase, as she suspected (and rightly so) that the chord might be around the baby's neck and was able to give us the safe natural vaginal birth we desired! Also I need to mention Mercy Gilbert for being so supportive of natural birth and breast feeding and having an amazing nursing staff. read more

I have had the pleasure of working with MomDoc Midwives both clinically at Mercy Gilbert, and now personally for a non-pregnancy-related appointment. The midwives and Dr. Guzman are caring, considerate, and thorough. I have nothing but positive things to say about this practice - and I'm so excited that Tiffany Jackson, CNM, has joined them now! An already great practice just got that much better! The office is welcoming, I had no wait, and the MAs were friendly and helpful. They do not return phone calls. There is no way to get a hold of a doctor if you have questions or need a prescription changed! I have had to call to ask questions a few times over the past couple years and no one returns a call. Time to find a new ob/gyn that actually cares about their patients. This place reminds me of a factory--push 'em in and push 'em out as fast as possible. read more

I switched over to MomDoc Midwives at about 16 weeks pregnant. I am so happy I did! The midwives there are great, and very supportive of my VBAC. Love them. Just had my baby via VBAC last week at Mercy Gilbert and would not have been able to do it without them. read more

most of the receptionists that are there seem like they have attitude all the time especially the one who's pregnant now i feel like i'm not welcome or they are bothered by your presence they should hire women who are more happy with the job they have. i feel uncomfortable every time i am there i feel like they really just sit there and judge you the office itself is honestly very very pretty and luxurious but the women there have got to be replaced. read more

I originally started going to Goodman and Partridge for my first couple prenatal visits and was disappointed. I had really wanted a midwife and when I found out that my insurance will actually cover a nurse midwife I was so excited! It was so easy to transfer all my info from Goodman to Mom and Doc Midwives! Since I was nervous about the switch I decided that this time I would schedule a meet and greet. I meet with Tiffany and loved her and everything about the office was perfect! Beautiful place and everyone was so nice. I am now due next week and have meet the other 2 midwives Ramona and Melissa. At first I was sad that Tiffany may not be on call the day I go into labor but I have learned that each midwife there is great in their own way. My husband and I are excited about having our first baby with them and at Mercy Gilbert! We also attended a few of their Bump Group Classes. They are great and informative. Loved the workbook we got! They usually have guest speakers there each class. Although we stopped the classes because they were too late at night for us and could get lengthy. It's hard when you are in your 3rd trimester sitting late at night for a couple hours. Plus my husband works super early at 4am. We highly recommend this clinic!!! read more

My daughter switched over to Momdoc Midwives after receiving negligent care from her previous OB/GYN. She has had 2 previous miscarriages and is high risk I had high hopes for MomDoc with them coming highly recommended from our child birth class instructor and having delivered both of my babies years ago with a midwife and both of them wonderful birth experiences.I was hoping the same for her. The initial appointment with Ramona was wonderful & both my daughter & I were very happy she switched. Since then they discovered she was anemic & started her on iron supplements, something her previous doctor did not do. Shortly after, at one of her appointments, (she was 35 wks)her blood pressure was very high compared to the the previous weeks normal BP & she had also gained 10 lbs since her last visit. In addition, she had been experiencing dizziness, shortness of breath, swelling, headache, nausea, vomiting & pain in her right side. All tell tale signs of preeclampsia. They ordered a 24hr urine test and blood work. They never called regarding the results. My daughter obtained them herself through Sonora Quest (this was on Friday 12/8)with numerous things outside the normal range. The next evening she was not feeling well at all & was having a difficult time getting her words out which alarmed me as I feared she was going to have a stroke. We went to Mercy Gilbert Labor & Delivery Triage (the hospital Momdoc delivers at) where her BP was 167/91.. They then went to listen to the baby's heartbeat with the doppler & there was none. They told us not to worry yet they were brining in an ultrasound tech. Still no heartbeat could be detected. For several minutes they tried.. But nothing. The screen showed no movement. My daughter completely lost it I will never forget the sound of the wail that escaped her & try as hard as I could to be strong for her, I lost it too. Her blood pressure jumped up to 177/101 the nurses comforted us and told us how sorry they were and that they would be bringing in an ultrasound specialist to try & see what had happened. 20 mins later the ultrasound specialist came in and clinging to my daughter I buried my head unable to look up at the screen. Then I hear, "There it is.. There's the heartbeat." it took a moment for that to sink in and then I said, "wait..what..? she's here..?" Of course we were overcome with joy & completely baffled.. How.. What happened..? Their explanation was anterior placenta now unless her placenta suddenly moved it has always been there and they were always able to find the heart beat before. My daughters blood pressure finally dropped to 129 over something, I don't recall, but they felt she was okay to go home (REALLY??) so after only 2 hours of being there with her blood pressure skyrocketing to 177/ 101 rather than keep her overnight for observation to my disbelief they sent her home she followed up with MomDoc the following Monday and the midwife she saw that day consulted with Dr Guzman and they decided to go ahead with induction at 37 weeks and monitor her closely until then so yesterday's appointment who was to go over the details for the planned induction and administration of the steroids for the baby's lungs we show up to our appointment and were seen by another midwife who had absolutely no clue that that is what we were there for before we saw the midwife my daughter had an ultrasound and a biophysical exam for the baby with a perfect 8 out of 8 score which completely put my daughter at ease so when the midwife checked her blood pressure it was 129/? The lowest it has been since the onset of her high blood pressure. ( they had my daughter purchase a blood pressure cuff and check her blood pressure twice daily documenting it) so yesterday's midwife I believe her name was Kelly said she would have to run my daughter's symptoms by the doctor to see if an induction was in order because the protein level in her urine is only 33 points above the 300 limit so they are saying she does not have preeclampsia but rather pregnancy induced hypertension..(how does this change in less than 48hrs..?) Dr. Guzman was not in the office so another appointment was made for Saturday. Well my daughter will not be able to make that appointment because her blood pressure was 176/91 this morning so she went back to the hospital where they have admitted her and the doctor on duty reviewed her chart and diagnosed her definitely with preeclampsia and wishes to keep her for observation. Finally! Someone taking this matter seriously. So with all of these things happening, especially yesterday's appointment with the Midwife having no clue why we were there, so obviously a major communication issue, has left me questioning the care MomDoc provides its patients. read more

The office is adorable, it's easy to get same-day or next-day appointments, and the whole staff is very nice and accommodating. I can't say enough about Ramona Joseph and the staff at MomDoc Midwives Gilbert! Ramona was extremely nurturing, supportive, and informative during my pregnancy as well as my delivery especially given the small health complications that arose throughout. I had an unexpected cesarean and after spending quite a few hours trying vaginal delivery beforehand, she bonded well with my family to make the physically exhausting and emotional event much more calming and actually kind of enjoyable. She was very concerned about my health and confidence in my abilities the entire time and was a great coach to get me through it. I would (and have) recommended MomDocs to all of my friends and family who are expecting. I plan to use them for the birth's of all of my children from here on out! read more

I really like this place and the people. I just don't like that they charge you for every little thing. Do you have some paperwork that has to be filled out to give to your employer. Well that will cost you. Instead of just doing this like other doctors I have had. They say it's the cost of filling out the paperwork. I spent an hour sitting in a room just to have someone come in and ask me a few questions then fill out the paperwork. 5 minutes in total. They would be great if they could figure out a way to do paperwork without charging people. read more

I switched to MomDoc Midwives in the third trimester of my second pregnancy, following Tiffany Jackson from her previous practice, and am so happy I did. Tiffany (and Ramona, too) was fantastic from day one in my first pregnancy, but I had no idea what I was missing at MomDoc Midwives. The entire staff is friendly, prompt and responsive; they're available to take phone calls long after most offices have shut down for the evening; and the office feels more like home than a clinic. Dr. Guzman is wonderfully kind and friendly, as well as committed to ensuring my son's birth met my expectations, desires and needs. He really made me feel like I'd made a good decision and was in skilled and compassionate hands along side Tiffany's. I can't recommend MomDoc Midwives enough. read more

Worst experience ever!!! First visit was good in the Queen. Reek office. My last pregnancy was high risk and I was very sick as I had explained at more first visit. Midwife reassured me that all my medical needs whatever that may be will be handled with care and if I end up having the same complications then they would transfer me to the Dr. First of all: I had to constantly prompt provider to do routine stuff like blood work, read my ultrasound as I was told by the women who did my ultrasound I had a pretty big cyst on one of my ovaries, had to prompt to read blood work results as the Midwife just laughter it off as if it were funny she forgot to even take the time to reveiw these. Second assistants seemed very confused and disorganized as to what things needed to be done. One would try and schedule and would have to let her m ow I was waiting for my blood to be drawn she then asked when did I finish my drink!! Um I'm only 6 weeks I'm waiting for the first set of blood work!! Omg then when I became very ill with hyperemisis and Midwife ordered a stat referall for homehealth, NOBODY bothered to touch even after I called daily to try and jump start. Every time I called they kept telling me to go to er. With no understanding that the er gets very expensive!! Had 2 hospital stays due to their negligence in 3 days because no one even looked at referall even though it was STAT! Kept getting one lie after the other. Finally went in 3 days after and put fire under their bottoms. Still staff continued to lie not knowing this whole time I had been in touch with my Insurance and knew nothing had been done. My insurance company notified me that I could initiate home health myself just needed procedure codes from Dr. They would not give to me just kept begging that I give them another chance. During exam with Midwife she noticed my blood pressure to be reading too high at these past few appointments and she would need me to see the Dr to address. Whoever She stated the Dr was way to busy to see me asap to get blood pressure under control for fear of me developing g preclamsia that she could schedule me 2-3 weeks out!! Then to top it off Midwife did voice her frustration as no one touched my referall until I came in that day to complain then she left room to return with an assistant who feed me some bull crap lie at beginning of appointment to then change her story( the Midwife) and lie to my face!! Uh the nerve. Had to constantly call that day to keep them moving on referall. Then.... the Midwife wrote the rx for homehelath all wacky!!!!! Homehealth nurses were soo frustrated as to why it was written the way it was as it made no sense. As I became sicker and sicker requiring more hydration fluids tried to contact anyone at momdoc to send a better prescription for homehealth was advised that they could not schedule me or transfer me to any working Dr!!!! Since being soo dehydrate my blood pressure dropped to 95/66!!! All I needed was more iv fluid!! They expected me to go to er!!! The whole point of being on homehealth is to avoid the er and take care of the hyperemisis at home!! I could go on and on how negligent they have been with my OB medical care. Do not recommend for high risk pregnancy or any pregnancy as I don't beleive they handle things in a very professional manner or are equipped for Ob care that may not be smooth sailing. I will be switching Ob as soon as possible will not return to any of Momdocs locations. read more

I have not been to a OBGYN in almost over 3years. MomDoc was my first visit and I must admit the atmosphere in that office was overwhelming and in a good way, All of the staff are angels, everyone is so kind and pleasant. Then there's Dr. Guzman he is straight forward and gives you real talk, my visit with him was like visiting with a family member, I was so comfortable in a not so comfortable situation; I was being sent back for a second breast exam. I give this Dr. and all his staff points equal to those of Dancing with the Stars 40 points, perfect score!!!! Keep up the good work. Know that this Doctor's office is Heaven Sent. read more

I went to MomDoc Midwives because I was pretty certain I was having a miscarriage. I informed the scheduler of this, and she was the first of four people who didn't pass along that information which meant I had to explain this three more times. It was devastating enough for me to be going through it but to have to continually answer questions about my pregnancy which ended in me in tears saying "I'm bleeding and cramping" made the entire thing that much worse. No one except the midwife expressed condolences and I just felt so uncomfortable and terrible that I can't imagine I would want to go back again. To top it all off I got a letter in the mail explaining that my insurance had been billed for my pregnancy and that my first payment would be due in a month. So once again I had to call and explain what happened, one again I got no empathy or apologies for the mistake from the person I spoke with and now I have to call my insurance company and explain to them what happened. I feel like MomDoc has made this situation so much worse for me and I could not ever recommend them to someone else. I dealt with three different schedulers, the front area nurse/assistant and a midwife. The midwife I had is the only reason I gave this review more than one star. read more

I had six, positive pregnancy tests across 3 days and called MomDoc MW for my first prenatal appointment. I come in to my appointment and notice immediately that the front office staff are scripted and robotic. Felt like a number. I go in for a urine test and they tell me it came out negative but they stated they use cheap dollar store tests. Okay. The CMW comes in and tells me that this appointment is "just a GYN appointment now". So are we scratching pregnancy discussion? I felt like she didn't care and made me feel embarrassed for thinking I was pregnant. I asked for a blood test. The Phlebotomist comes in and says absolutely nothing to me aside of verifying my name and dob. Hey, are you a robot too? Can you at least pretend you like your job? She did one of the worst blood draws I've ever experienced. The blood test came back as pregnant. I was scheduled to come back in two weeks for follow-up. in between then, I was experiencing some abnormal symptoms. I called them and they gave me VERY vague advice that left me waiting too long to get to the ER. Long, story short, this all ended in a miscarriage and I am very disappointed in their advice. I was initially pleased with this practice and had good experiences with the midwives and ultrasound tech. Unfortunately, once I saw the doctor for a routine 22 week check-up, my whole experience changed. First, the doctor walked in holding the wrong chart and proceeded to read off medical updates that did not pertain to me. When I corrected him, he pulled up my medical record and then told me something did not look normal on my ultrasound and said the office would follow up with me. After waiting (and worrying something was wrong with my baby) almost two weeks, I never received a phone call to follow up regarding the appointment. I called the office 3x and was told someone would contact me to schedule a follow up visit or a referral to a specialist and each time I requested a call back, I still did not hear from anymore (I even requested to speak to a manager and got nothing). Two months later I found a new midwife office who confirmed with an ultrasound that everything was perfectly fine with my baby and I am still waiting on a call back from the MomDoc offices. There are much better midwife offices in the Valley, and I should have listened when others warned me about them. It is also very awkward to be checked in for an appointment while standing in the middle of a waiting room with no receptionist window for privacy. I would say this office was mediocre, at best, and giving a one star review is being generous. read more

I went to MomDoc for my second pregnancy but only stayed there through 20 weeks. After that I was able to switch to another doctor and have never been happier!!! Dr. Guzman is very knowledgeable and kind. I really enjoyed meeting with him at our first appointment. But after that first appointment we were never able to meet with him again. We saw a different midwife almost every time. Each time it got a little bit worse. First of all, their nurses are not friendly and I HATE the check in procedure. Every appointment lasted about 3 minutes. The midwife would check the heartbeat then leave. When I asked questions they were either answered with no explanation or I was made to feel dumb for asking them. It made me nervous to ask questions, which I hated. At my 12 week appointment they offered the genetic screening to me. It is optional but when I asked if they suggested it they said that I might as well because it was covered on insurance. So I did it. They took my blood and did an ultrasound. I called back a month later because I hadn't heard anything from them and the nurse I talked to told me she didn't see anything about a blood test and that there wasn't one. I explained to her that I had my blood drawn so there had to be something and she just kept repeating the same thing. So at my 20 week appointment I asked about the blood test. The midwife made me feel so stupid by saying "well you were supposed to have a second blood draw. We can't do anything or give you any results unless you have the second." I told her I didn't know anything about that and no one had told me that, I asked if it was too late to get the second blood draw. She rolled her eyes and went and talked in the hall. When she came back she said that they could do it "so I could have my results". I felt so stupid so I asked if it was unnecessary and she said, "well 99% of pregnancies in your twenties are normal with no complications so you really shouldn't be worrying, but we will do it so you can have your results". I don't know where she got that statistic from but it is not true. I then had my anatomy scan and the ultrasound tech barely said a word to me. I had no idea what she was looking at and it lasted maybe 10 minutes. When we got back to our room the midwife came in and looked at her iPad and said everything is normal, well except a dilated kidney. I asked what that mean and she said, "well it means it is bigger". She went on to say I could schedule my next appointment. I asked again what the dilated kidney meant and she said "it means it is bigger, if it doesn't resolve itself by the time your baby is born the pediatrician will deal with it". I have since learned that this is pretty normal and there are many reasons for this but it was never explained to me and I was made to feel stupid for asking. I am now at a different doctor and so much happier. I would never suggest them to ANYONE! read more

I followed Tiffany Jackson over to MomDoc even though I was 38 weeks along when she moved from her previous practice to this one. Although my insurance was out of network at MomDoc it was totally worth it to have her deliver my baby! Throughout my pregnancy she was very laid back and hands off however very good at listening and addressing any questions or concerns I had. Exactly what I like about Midwives! This was my second child and he decided to arrive very quickly. Tiffany was so calm and reassuring and really encouraged me to deliver my son in whatever position was most comfortable for me. Her calm presence gave me the confidence to relax and deliver my son naturally. It was a fantastic experience! My husband and I are done having children however I would recommend Tiffany over and over to friends and family wishing to have a "home like" birth experience in a hospital setting. She is amazing! read more

I really like this office. I vbac with my Son in 2014 and the delivery with Melissa was great. I usually see Ramona for most of my regular appointments. Ramona is a great midwife and such a great listener. I really like her because when I was going to them in 2014 for the birth of my son she is very supportive and doesn't treat you like you like your crazy when you tell her that you are scared or something hurts. I'm also going to them now for my 2vbac for next month. Because the last time was such a good experience I'm much more at ease with this delivery. I also really like this office because it's kid friendly and they are always nice when I bring my kids. I don't have the luxury of a sitter or family that can watch them during the day which does lead to a struggle with other doctor appointments at other offices. The other thing I love about this place is because they are midwives there is a 40% chance less of getting a C-section. Which call me crazy but I do believe that many doctors these days give way to many of them for their convenience. If you want a hospital birth with as little interventions as possible because your recovery will be so much better this is the place to go. read more

I only had two appointments while "pregnant". I was about 7 weeks along for the last one, had an ultrasound, heard a heartbeat, etc. They did not want to schedule me for another 5 weeks, which I was uncomfortable with but heard was normal. A week before my scheduled appointment, I was 11 weeks, I went in because of some spotting and pain. They told me all of this was normal but wanted to check the heartbeat anyway. We do an ultrasound. No heartbeat. We go home and come back the next day and see a midwife we had not seen before. She dodges or vaguely answers all of our questions. No one asks if my husband and I are doing okay. She gives me the option of waiting, taking medication, or having a dnc. (I was 11 weeks but baby did not even measure 8 weeks, so I went with the medicine because she made it sound like the best option). Little did I know the medicine was Cytotec, which I would have never agreed to. She was just calling it by its generic name. (Pharmacist did not tell me it was a generic for Cytotec either, but still...). She told me I would bleed mostly within the 24 hours after inserting the medicine. We asked if we would be able to tell when I passed the baby and she said "no, it will just be like a heavy period". She gave me vicodin for cramping and sent me on my way. Needless to say, we were VERY uninformed and unprepared. Not only did I clot and bleed and thought I was hemorrhaging for 2 days. I was in the worst pain of my life. Even on 2 vicodin and 4 ibuprofen every 4 hours my pain was still at a 6. I thought I was dying. It was the most physically violent thing I have been through. Then 2 days later I pass a very obvious sac. This was emotionally traumatic as I was not told, even when I asked, that I would be able to know when I lost my baby. I can't even describe the many emotions surrounding this particular detail. Then I go in a week later for an ultrasound and am told that I have a copay since this is now a "gynecological appointment" instead of an OB appointment. I was never informed of this prior and was upset because I was told I had to have this appointment as a followup to my miscarriage. The midwife we saw that day listened to all of our complaints and apologized. But the fact remains that MomDoc works as a complete practice, so when one person slips up, the whole practice does. I went to midwives for a reason and yet was treated like complete crap when I lost my baby. (Which by the way was my first pregnancy). I will never recommend this practice. The treatment and lack of care I received exacerbated the already traumatic situation I was in of losing my baby. If you are reading this review, don't go to MomDoc. read more
