I worked with Tara from Moments in Bloom for my wedding on November 6, 2021! Tara was an absolute joy to work with! We had our initial consult and right away, she understood my vision and was making recommendations on how to make it come to life! Dede did an amazing job on flowers for my wedding last month. Let me start by saying that flowers ended up being one of the most stressful components of wedding planning for me because I had no idea how pricey flowers are. With that said, Dede at Moments in Bloom went out of her way to work with my budget AND still make my vision come to life. (Big thanks to our planner, Ashley at Always Flawless Productions, for the referral!) Moments in Bloom really over delivered on the day of - way more flowers than I expected. There were flowers everywhere and gorgeous blooms - huge, blooming roses (no buds or small roses), in beautiful colors (blush, mauve, light lavender, champagne, ivory), hydrangea and greens that really complemented the venue. I had a mix of round and banquet tables and so had a mix of centerpieces and garlands. The garlands were FULL and gorgeous. Loved the flowers on the arch at our ceremony. I LOVED my bouquet, peonies, roses, and gardenia (my request). I was that annoying bride who kept looking at Pinterest and IG photos even after our initial consult, confusing myself more and more and likely annoying the vendor, but Dede never showed it - she was so sweet and patient throughout. Moments in Bloom did not communicate with me at all. The day of the wedding there was absolutely. nothing on the reception tables. They "misunderstood" me. The venue automatically charged me for $50. worth of flowers at each table from their sponsored vendor - Moments in Bloom - and I got nothing. I expected to pay a great deal of money for the added design on arrangements and I was happy to do it. They want communication from email only but they didn't read mine or they read my emails and paid little attention to them. I couldn't be more disappointed. They took off the price of a corsage to appease me. The bouquets were outstanding but the lack of centerpieces were unforgivable. read more

I worked with Tara throughout the whole experience and she helped me immensely discussing how to reuse pieces from our ceremony into our reception since our venue had a massive arbor. This review is for my October 2017 wedding (SO late, I know), but Dede did such a phenomenal job producing florals for my wedding that I could not skip doing a review. I was a little confused on the direction I wanted and gave her a general idea of the theme I was targeting (autumn rustic elegance) and some photo samples of bouquets and floral arches that I liked. Dede took those hints and completely nailed my vision. She went above and beyond to produce the most stunning florals I have ever seen... an incredible cascading bride's bouquet, gorgeous bridesmaid bouquets, floral centerpieces, and a beautiful garland that she set up on the pepper tree that backed our ceremony space (and was then transferred to our sweetheart table). She also provided beautiful complements to the spaces, including accent florals in small vases that accompanied the large centerpieces, as well as accent florals to dress up our tiered cake. I could not be more satisfied with Moments in Bloom. I have two separate occasions that I have had the joy of working with them and I will share both: As a bridesmaid: in 2010 my friend got married and used Moments in Bloom as her florist. Because my friend has a very chaotic schedule, all of the consultation was completed over the internet and via email. My friend told Dede what flowers she liked, what flowers she didn't like, and the overall look she was going for. The day of the actually wedding was the very first time my friend and Dede met and spoke in person and every thing was perfect. As a bridesmaid I was very impressed by the quality of the flowers and decor around the ceremony and reception, and I knew if my friend was able accomplish this without having face-to-face meetings with the florist I knew this is who I wanted to work with for my wedding. As a bride: Fast forward to November 2010 (a month after my friend's wedding), and I met the ladies of Moments in Bloom at an open house/vendor expo at the Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club (where we ended up booking our wedding venue there). Dede remembered me from the previous month and we immediately began talking about flowers for my October 2011 wedding. We met a couple of times in person and she immediately knew what I was looking for to make my autumn wedding beautiful and special. She incorporated my favorite flower, sunflowers, so beautifully into the bouquets and because she knew our theme was autumn harvest, she included fresh autumn leaves in the bouquet as well! Every raved at how wonderful all the floral arrangements looks and I could not agree more. The center pieces on all the tables were stunning without taking away the ability for people to talk across the table to each other, our sweetheart table was decorated with pomegranates, autumn leaves, and a gorgeous centerpiece of all the flowers that were in the ladies' bouquets. I had both a cascade bouquet for the wedding ceremony as well as a "tossible" bouquet for the bouquet/garter toss portion of the reception. We had cast iron votive holders with flowers and wood climbing up the sides, and a votive tree by the area that guests could leave gifts and cards. This review is less about the beautiful flower arrangements Didi puts together and more about the wonderful type of person that she is. Our wedding was cancelled the day prior to the event due to the Coronavirus. As any future bride can imagine, I was distraught. We had a small event in our backyard as a replacement. Didi not only still put together some of our arrangements but put together some with different colors and different flowers that looked less weddingy as she feared wedding flowers could make our day much worse. That was by far the most kindhearted, generous act I could imagine from a wedding vendor. In addition, she returned us what money should could (for labor, delivery, etc.) and we couldn't be more thankful. Floral design was very important to me, as I ultimately had some fairly specific looks and flowers in mind. I spent a great deal of time examining the Moments in Bloom website and photo blog to ensure I loved their style, then reached out to them! We had a great meeting with Dede at their studio in Carlsbad, and we just really liked her and Tara and their whole vibe! They are both super nice, very talented and hardworking, and you can just tell how much they love what they do. After we booked them as our florist, my now-husband and I actually moved out of state, and we suddenly had a 'destination wedding' on our hands! But it was so easy to work with Dede over phone and e-mail to discuss our wedding floral design and communicate ideas and visions. Dede was very responsive, thoughtful and patient to boot! She hunted down the perfect centerpiece vases and customized them just for us; Dede also happened to find me some special ranunculus flowers for my bridal bouquet in the exact perfect color, despite having counted them out since they were out of season! Just a bit of magic she managed that I had to mention. ;-) In regard to the wedding day itself - Dede and Tara were prompt, reliable, and ever so efficient! Our venue, the Safari Park out in Escondido, requires vendors to cart all of their stuff into the middle of the park literally on golf carts. I just got married last Friday and Moments in Bloom did the flowers for the wedding. I was SO HAPPY with our wedding florals, I had to Yelp! I loved every aspect of working with the ladies at Moments in Bloom. Dede was my main contact, and she was awesome - professional, talented, and so sweet! I visited the studio in Carlsbad a couple of times, and that was really fun - just felt like hanging out with a friend. I don't know much at all about flowers, but had some photos of arrangements/bouquets that I liked and Dede really made those come to life. She totally got my vision and the flowers were just stunning. She made "mock ups" for me to see before the wedding (and keep!) and tried out lots of different kinds of flowers to make sure I was really happy with the final decisions. I also appreciated the little details that Moments in Bloom did that set them apart from other florists I was looking at: 1. They had interesting glassware (e.g. bubble bowls) that looked really cool and I had never seen before. 2. They wanted to tailor the flowers to our event in a personal way - my fiance and I are scientists so some of our arrangements were in beakers and flasks and that was a big hit! 3. They have their own arches for wedding ceremonies (a lot of florists don't and require you to rent these separately) and did all the set up and break down. I got so many compliments on my wedding flowers. We went with plain white table linens because the centerpieces were so spectacular, and I'm glad we did! They were a highlight of the event. We planned the whole wedding from abroad, including picking out the flowers. To make things more complicated, we don't know anything about flowers, and we didn't want to have any "colors" or too much coordination at all. We were after a casual elegance, garden-y feeling, colorful but still soft...and this was NOT easy to describe, let alone for Tara to interpret and deliver on! But OMG this girl was a mind reader. When we walked into the banquet room during the day, after she had set up, I was at a loss for words, it was just so beautiful. And then later when my husband and I came back into the banquet room one of the first things he said was "it looks perfect", and he had been even more fussy (and equally uninformed about flowers) than me! I'm sure the process had been easier if we had been in California in person, so it says so much more how spot on she got everything so far away. Dede met with us and she was well prepared. She already had an idea of our wedding theme/motif so she had pictures ready and samples of arrangements and bouquets. She also had some snacks laid out during our meeting! Let's just say my fiance then was very happy. Dede worked with us in achieving the jeweled toned look we were going for and also with the budget we had in mind. Throughout the whole process too, it was a very smooth relationship in terms of correspondence, meet up for a mock up of our table arrangement to a few last minute requests i.e. extra baskets for rose petals. Needless to say the day of our wedding when Dede came into my room to deliver the bouquets.....I was flabbergasted with how pretty they all looked. We chose vibrant colors and she used plenty of orchids in purple, bright pink and blue hydrangeas! Words cannot describe the magic the whole team did. From our ceremony site.....with tall vases and submerged orchids....to our succulent/beachy boxes at the ceremony aisle to our small succulents for the cocktails tables...to our reception area.....which she re-used most of the stuff we had at the ceremony site. We just added a few vases with submerged white orchids for our lounge area. When I was waiting to walk down the aisle and saw the flowers at our ceremony site...the vibrant colors against the green golf course backdrop.....I was very elated. Even the resort's staff and catering manager were in awe.....especially my Mother in Law who is a very big floral fanatic. Also just to add a very important detail, as in wedding planning, you do your due diligence and shop around for your vendors. You just don't check out one and go with it. We have done our homework and Moments in Bloom fit the perfect package. Their prices are very reasonable, design, quality of the flowers that they use are very nice and very pleasant to work with. Let's just say the other florist we checked out had the primadonna 'tude even if we are the customers and not her, plus her price was very much out of this world. I worked with Tara to design the florals for my December 30, 2016 wedding and received the flowers of my dreams. I live out of town so all our communication was done over email and pinterest and yet I felt like Tara completely knew my vision and delivered one thousand percent. Lionel and Katy Fujioka's Wedding September 6, 2015 I needed to take a moment to recognize this wonderful team of florists. This was our experience with Dede and Tara and we could not be happier with the results. About 6 months before our wedding, I was ready to book with another florist that was located much farther from our wedding site, the Carlsbad Hilton. We called our wedding coordinator at the Hilton, and her first recommendation was the Moments in Bloom team located in Carlsbad. My first interaction with Dede was email setting up a time that we could be introduced via FaceTime (we live 2 hours away from Carlsbad). I immediately feel in love with not only her professionalism and welcoming personality, but also the talent she displayed. Yes, on our first "meeting" FaceTime phone call, she created the centerpiece that was beyond what I envisioned. It was absolutely beautiful. I committed to Dede and her team on the spot. As the months passed, Dede was open to ALL the changes I made up until the week before the wedding. She was extremely patient with me. =] Her prices were fair, considering I did some shopping around before I was able to commit to her. The day of the wedding was THE FIRST TIME I was able to meet Dede and Tara personally. The day went beyond smooth because of the way they handled set up of all my beautiful arrangements, and so much more. Moments gave me so much to remember about our special day. It was BEYOND what I envisioned and it showed Dede and Tara's true talents considering we only communicated through email and phone calls.
