Absolutely do not recommend. The process has been incredibly slow, and I've been getting constant runarounds. My appointment has been rescheduled multiple times, pushing it back by three weeks. Each time I called, customer service would promise that a technician was coming "tomorrow," but they never showed up. When I finally asked for a reason, the representative said, "I just let you know we are rescheduling, I don't know what happened to the technician." This lack of communication and accountability is completely unacceptable. I would strongly advise against using this company if you value your time and expect reliable service. read more

A nice young woman came to our door selling solar. We just replaced our roof so I thought why not get a quote. I scheduled an appointment for someone to come to look at the house and go over our bill, but when I looked at the reviews online I cancelled. Upon canceling they convinced me to give them a shot so I rescheduled. The salesperson Spencer Ganley came by and pretty much told us nothing they couldn't have told us over the phone and was supposed to follow up with pricing in a call Monday at 6pm. Monday at 1pm he called. There was a lot of fast talking, talking over me, double-speak, incorrect information about my electric bill, and a price for solar panels with 25 year financing at 6.99% interest. Not much savings on my current electric bill, which I told him, and maintenance with potential repair costs after 5 years. On top of all runaround, he was audibly eating lunch (I heard him picking up his food order) and when I told him I didn't want to speak to him while he was eating he lied and said he wasn't; he was. I reiterated that I don't wish to speak to someone who is eating and told him this was a very unprofessional call. It was the wrong time (I have the confirmation time in a text from him), he was eating on a sales call, he asked for my email when he had been given all my information at his visit but he "must've lost it", he didn't provide me with the visuals he said he would, he inflating the actual cost of my electric bill and even had the balls to say temperature would be 110 degrees in July in NY (), and gave me pricing that included a tax credit I have not yet been approved for. When I told him just a few of those reasons he hung up on me. Not that there was any chance I'd do business with them at this point but that hang up prompted me to call Momentum to report his behavior and review them on yelp. I can't speak to their service but if this is any indication of how they do business, good luck if you go with them. I will be calling other solar companies recommended by friends. read more

My father got a random call, they were extremely pushy about how despite several other companies stating the house didn't qualify, their house qualified with them. My father explicitly stated he did NOT want to sign anything or give a cent before a proposal was given for consideration. They showed up the next morning and wouldn't leave for 2 hours, I left to work for the day. When I got back, the company had somehow gotten my father to sign something that opened an account (no money was given) Thankfully i caught this, stepped in and was able to cancel (involved signing paperwork) My recommendation: DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING ON THE SPOT. Stand your ground, take your time in reviewing. Crunch your own numbers. To us it didn't make sense and its certainly was not worth it. As a Momentum customer 5 years in it is extremely disappointing that the salesman misled us when discussing the removal & installation process in the event of weather damage to our roof. He told us on two separate occasions that the process would not cost us and now I find out that there is a cost associated with the process. Does Momentum help? No - they just apologize repeatedly and say there is nothing they can do. When they called to confirm, I told them I did not have an appointment. Rather than cancelling, the person tried to again tell me the benefits of solar. This is a scam and total bait and switch. Not a reputable place! While a solar installation was being installed at my next door neighbor's house, the installers dropped a pipe onto my daughters car causing roof damage. After sending them pictures and having sent numerous,phone calls and pictures to them (Daniel Colon) asking them for our deductible of $250 the communication went dead. The salesperson stayed in our home for 2.5 hours before he gave us 2 quotes. Option 1, Leasing, the quote was so bad, that even if PSEG called me without any solar and offered me the quote with 2.9% increase every year, I would still say NO. From savings point of view, someone is using my roof to generate solar and I switch my bill from PSEG to them and they keep all the savings. Good business (for them of course). The whole model is based on a presumption that the utility company increases rates by 6% every year. I researched that from my prior bills and I could not even justify the 2.9% they want. I asked for data to support the rate increase and there were none. Option 2. Buying the panels. If you calculate the KWH and the savings, it would take 25 years to pay for the solar panels. I could not see any savings in that. My advice is do the calculation yourself and don't sign anything on the spot. read more

Overall my solar panels have been installed and communication with the staff up until my installation was great. Two installers that worked on my property damaged my brand new dryer and the company refuses to respond to my complaint with a solution. I caught the man standing on my dryer and asked him not to do so, he was even offered a step stool to use to reach my electrical panel. I didn't think I would have to watch over to grown man to ensure my brand new appliance wouldn't be damaged after blatantly telling they guy to not stand on it. Of course my dryer was still damaged after the installation and the company's response was "our installers sent a picture of the dryer with no damage" or "someone will get back to you in a week". I have time stamps on my pictures to prove my dryer was damaged after the install. I'm sure the installers took their "picture" prior to finishing the job. I guess this is what comes with being a homeowner mind you this is my first home so to receive service like this is just extremely disappointing and frustrating. I'd only recommend this company if you don't mind your stuff being damaged or if you have absolutely nothing around your electrical panel. read more

In June of 2023 a sales representative from Momentum Solar came out to our house to discuss installing solar panels. We discussed in length about the cost and the benefit of having solar installed. I was told by the sales representative that the panels would not completely cover the electric bills but we would be near zero and would only be paying on average $20-$30/month in electric bills. I agreed that would be beneficial and signed the paperwork. Our electric bills have been on average over $100/month with this last bill being $182. so I called up Momentum Solar again after several times being told that we should be around 90% solar production I asked about having more panels installed since clearly they miscalculated the size of our home (3,000 sq. ft.) and usage since we have pool equipment and living in Florida the HVAC is running a lot during the day/night. I still haven't received a call back and no resolution to this issue. I am ready to have them remove the panels and just pay the electric bills since I am not saving anything with solar. I also referred a friend to the company and they had panels installed but I never received the referral fee. I do not recommend Momentum Solar, do more research and find a reputable company who stands by their word and isn't just quick to sell you something just for the profits. read more

Let me start this by saying, I wouldn't do it. I spoke with a few companies and thought Momentum is the right fit for me. I was wrong. You start with a rep who comes to your house and makes the sales pitch. Ok, You sit through that. Rep would start crunching numbers and throwing at you. Rep would make you believe this is a no brainer. I have done sales on many different levels and now I own a company that depends on sales. I know the drill. Respecting the rep, I sat and listened. Decided go through it. Deal is no cost to me and I will be paying less than ConEdison ( utility company). And few rebates from City and State. Sounds good. Right? Things move fast. They come for site inspections. Get approvals etc. You will be getting calls from project managers to assistant project managers to coordinators to name a few. Here comes the kicker. Then I get a phone call from another person who wants to meet in person to go through final plans. Now they are trying to sell me a roof. Again, a nice gentleman threw numbers at me to convince me to go ahead. Nice $15K roof job out of pocket. Moment you say NO to it, they would come up with option 2, 3 and 4. Trying to give me a loan etc. All these solar companies are in the roofing business as well or subcontracted. This is the time you shake hands and say as nice as possible, thanks for wasting my time, get out of my house. AFTER I SAID NO TO THE ROOF JOB, ITS CRICKETS. This is my experience. The first representative claimed I qualify for solar panels and everything looked good, then I was transfered over to the schedule dept to have someone come to my house and examine the roof. Then I get told my house doesn't qualify for panels and they won't do the job. What I told them is that I been searching around and have gotten other quotes from other companies who say my house is qualified 100 percent to hold solar panels.
