This is the second solar installation: #1 was at my own house ~15mos ago and all went very well. I recommended my son to go with the same company as my 'donation' to his moving to Florida. All was fine, the panels are installed, inspected (twice), now they have to be connected to FPL. And now, there is a hangup. To achieve this, a form has to be filled out, my son (and I for that matter) is stuck. We have spent over 3 solid days trying to call any and every phone number we have leaving voice mails and as of this writing, THERE HAS NOT BEEN ONE REPLY OR COMMUNICATION FROM MOMENTUM SOLAR. I made the huge mistake of signing up to momentum solar, this is the second time the production shut down. The first time it wasn't producing power was due to the Enphase control panel which Enphase fixed within 2 days notice. I called today to get a tech out to my home to fix the AC wiring since the system is not producing any power. Long story short, was on the phone waiting for more than an hour. First I talked to enphase then Momentum solar... keep getting bounced back and forth. Finally spoke to a representative at momentum solar but then he told me it will take 14 days to get someone out to my home. Wow... one of the biggest mistakes to choose Momentum Solar just because they collaborated with my builder. I have been waiting for service for over SIX WEEKS. Initially, THREE PANEL WENT DOWN, and I reported this to Momentum Solar on June 8, 2026. After waiting four weeks (29 days) without any response, I called them back, as I had not received any callbacks from the service department. In July, MY SYSTEM WENT COMPLETELY DARK, resulting in no solar production. Still, I did not hear anything from their service department. Below are the documented facts regarding this situation: **6-8-26 - 10:00 AM - 10:30 PM**: Jose mentioned that he will open a case regarding the non-functional solar panels. He also stated that a team will send me a text update soon. They will be able to identify the issue since they have direct access to my panels through the app. (They no longer have phone support; the phone is not being answered.) I believe they may be having fin problems (Jose) **7-1-26 -8:10 AM**: I sent another message regarding warranty work. **7-1-26 - 8:40 AM**: I called Enphase, the manufacturer, and they are currently performing diagnostics on the three panels. They will update me on their findings. According to Case Number 20177657, 3 micro-inverters need to be replaced. The representative indicated that a technician would need to come out to review the wiring and order the new inverters, all of which are under warranty. He mentioned that he would contact Momentum Solar and send them an email about the issue so they can send a technician. However, he could not provide any information about Momentum's processes or warranty details, which I have. 25 year warrenty for Labor and Parts according to the contract. **7/4/26 - 9:08 AM** My solar panels are not producing energy. I checked them and noticed that three lights were on, but the lightning bolt indicator was different from the others. I didn't touch anything because I wanted to call Enphase for further instructions. **7/5/26 - 9:28 AM** I called Enphase and informed them that my solar system was completely offline and not producing any energy. The agent guided me through a system reset, but it didn't resolve the issue; the results remained the same. He issued a new case number: 20195155. The Enphase representative indicated that he would forward the information to Momentum Solar, and the repair team should be getting back to me soon. **7/5/26 - 7:47 PM** I sent an email to the Momentum Solar installation representative. See below: On 7/6/26, at 8:23 AM, I was on hold with a chat representative named Bennett. He informed me that I would receive a call from the scheduling department regarding July 2026. He also mentioned that I would not need a case number, as I could be verified using my phone number and address. He also said they would update any information regarding my system outage as when updated emails are submitted. 7-10-26 - 400AM -from the scheduling crew: I believe that waiting six weeks for warranty work is unreasonable, especially since my system is currently down and I'm unable to produce energy in 95-degree weather. It seems that the people at Momentum DON'T CARE about their customers. They've cut off phone support and now only communicate with customers through chat, which is frustrating. I feel as though they are neglecting their customers due to the lack of service. I would not recommend this company to anyone under any circumstances. I am considering escalating this issue and involving additional parties to recover my losses and getting the system fixed myself with another company and bill them. Hello save your house don't hire this company. I've been dealing with them since august of last year. It took 7 months for them to turn my system on. During the install damages were done to the tune of 40 thousand dollars and now momentum Solar is telling me I have to deal with it and go through my home owners insurance. Recovering from Hurricane Milton. I called customer service to inquire about a check of my system. I requested that a technician come out to inspect the system and panels for any damage from the high winds. The customer service informed me that the warranty does not cover natural disasters i.e. storms or hurricanes. The cost to have a technician come would be between $400- $500 dollars. Poor customer service, price gouging. To be clear the system is not as efficient as it was stated by the salesman. My electric bill HAS NOT decreased. On 3/23/23 booked an appointment at my local BJ's for a solar estimate that Sat 25. Salesperson showed up spent 30 minutes giving me the pitch, I asked when the estimate would be ready. He said they already did it, (huh!), but he would have to meet me again to "go over the estimate" (code for more sales pitch). Also I was a little confused about how they had done the estimate without finding out from me what I wanted. Very curious, and not in a good way. Never heard from him again. Called a week later to the main number to find out what happened. They said they would contact the salesperson and have him call me. Still have never heard from him again Called the company on 4/18/23 to find out where the estimate was and was told to make an appointment for someone to deliver it because they don't have access. Blah Blah Blah. Code for more sales pitch. Next day Luis Millo shows up and has no idea. He thinks he is there for an estimate. 30 minutes later he says he can get my estimate and email it to me. Sends me an email the next day with nothing attached. I send him back an email that says "nothing attached?". Sent two more emails asking for the illusive estimate. No response. Beware of this company soliciting! They rang my doorbell once, 1 minute after then knocked on my door because I didn't answer immediately since it was dinner time. I answered through my doorbell camera he did not respond so I then had to get up from the dinner table, since they thought 6:45 at night (prime dinner time for families) was a good time to intervene. The issue is that I've requested that Momentum STOP hounding me when I've already told them it's not worth it for me, I'm no longer interested, and requested that they place me on their DNC. Here we are September 24,2024, months after my review and being contacted by a rep that passed my information and issues along to management. We still have not been contacted by anyone with any response. They are no help and do not look to help. They only want the appearance of being a concerned business to anyone reading reviews without actually being any help. We also had an issue with one of our panels. Our system is monitored for an issues and we were informed that if there was an issue we would get a call or email letting us know so a service call could be arranged. This is another lie. I logged in to check our production vs consumption and found one of the panels was not working. I contacted customer service that informed me they don't contact consumers and had to call another division. Same answer. They monitor the system but do not contact anyone. I was paying .19 cents a killowatt hour from my utility company which had risen 6.5% annually for the past 20 years! I'm now leasing solar and paying .11 cents a year for 25 years with an annual increase of 2.9%, this means I won't be paying what I am currently paying (.19) until 2042! I really hope this company goes belly up. I have never been deceived more by a sales representative in my entire life, as I have with this company. All of the important information given by the representative has turned out to be lies or misleading. This is the second time I am writing about this company and I will continue to try and warn people of the lies that they decieve consumers with. Here are the items I was deceived about: 1. I was told by the sales person that I would not need to hold additional insurance on my homeowners policy since my solar system would not be large enough to require it. That was a lie and I had to carry an additional $1 million in liability. 2. I was told my system would be installed and running within 1 month and it took 6 months. They began charging me for the system before it was even producing energy. 3. I was told there would not be any out of pocket expenses but I was told by my electric company that I needed to pay to have the net metering device installed. 4. I was told that the whole incentive payment(tax credit)can be used to put toward the cost of the system or i could chose to keep it and use it as I wished. The sales man even went as far to tell me a story about a customer that used the credit to take a vacation. He told me that if I use the credit to pay towards the solar system, my monthly bill would remain the same. If I chose to keep the credit and not pay it towards the system, my monthly bill would go up depending on how much I decide to keep and that I had 1 year to decide how I would like to use the incentive payment. I found out when I filed my taxes that this is a tactic these companies use. The sales person was not only misleading but lied directly about the tax credit. There is no way to apply the credit towards the cost like he said and now I am stuck with a payment that went up an additional $200 per month. Tried to remove a tree but went to get a refinancing loan of my home. However they had put a lien on my house and canceled the project and billed me the cost of everything. After I made the payment they have not removed their lien on my title after 3 weeks after the payment was made. I was informed that it is a a que without any updates. I have called them four times to advise them the revised permit has been sitting to be picked up since November and still sits there. Do not use this company. They hold onto your electricity so they can sell it and make money while giving you their delay excuses. I am trying to break contract. I canceled the contract and they started to harass me with phone calls, emails and sending me bills in the mail. Originally, I wrote a great review for this company very early in the process, but oh how the tables have turned. First, let me say that the product is great. The problem is the customer service is unbelievably horrific. Let's start with the installation. They sent 3 workers out to do the installation and none of them spoke English. This was a problem because they changed the panel design without telling us and installed 7 panels on the front of the house. We specifically told the sales person that we did not want any panels on the front of the house and he agreed with us. The layout of the panels were shown to us at the time of purchase and everything looked good. At installation however, they did it completely different. When my wife came home and saw the panels on the front of the house she was very upset and told the workers that they did it wrong. Of course they didn't understand her because they didn't speak English. They called a QA manager named Julius who called my wife a racist because she wanted someone who speaks English and told her that I signed off on the changes, which I most certainly did not! We then called the project manager to resolve this issue and he said he would check into it and get right back with us. We then had to call him back a week later because we got no response from him. We then called the regional manager who was appalled by our story, but I guess he wasn't too concerned about it because he didn't get back with us. Another week later we called him back to see what the status was and he said that someone was coming out to move the panels where they were supposed to be installed in the first place. No one showed up so we called the main office and much to our surprise, they knew nothing about our situation! It seemed like no one knew what the other was doing. Finally, after a month, someone came out and moved the panels. It took another week of calls to get someone back out to repair the roof where the panels had been removed. So all is well now, right? Nope. The person who moved the panels never connected them to the grid! The person who fixed the roof noticed this and he told me that he put a call in to the office, as did I. No response yet! Here's another problem; they are supposed to be monitoring my panels for this exact issue, but no one has contacted me at all. Makes me wonder if they are monitoring anything at all. I have to say that I hate writing negative reviews, but I really couldn't, in good conscience, let this go untold. read more

The third party marketing group says they're another local solar compay and is destroying the innocent established legitimate business with their illegal tactics. Companies like Momentum Solar are a dime a dozen. It seems at least in Florida anyone with a ladder and truck to haul panels can state they're solar experts.What Jason, director of "customer experience" , Laura the billing manager (who is never available when I call), Amelia Diaz, so call supervisor, Ayna Colon, Phil Walford so call project manager and Brian Hursey , salesperson and the numerous people who answer the phone in Momentum fail to understand is that Customer Service is the ONLY thing that would make their company stand out from the rest of the pack. I have reached out to Momentum numerous times since August 24, 2020 because 1 panel was not producing and I was starting to see overage on my TECO(Tampa Electric) bill. My first instinct was to call TECO. I was offered an over the phone energy audit (I had an in person one done in October of last year) and I received in writing an email stating that my solar system was too small. I sent this email along with copies of the bills over to momentum for evaluation on August 28th. After calling and calling, emailing, threatening and screaming, they changed two microinvertors on October 1st. That's right it took them 40 calendar days. I have questioned since day 1 whether or not I had enough panels and Phil Walford assured me that I did. I even offered more bills just to be sure and I was told that wasn't necessary. I felt comfortable with what they told me. I figured that if they didn't try to take advantage of me opening the door to more panels which would translate more money for them then I should be able to trust them to accurately know how many panels I need. It turns out I was wrong. A 7.245 kW, 315w q cells, enphase IQ7, 23 panel system was installed in January 2020. The first bill was not covered and since it was in the middle of a billing cycle, I expected that. In January I reached out to Momentum to change the monitoring to wifi and I again questioned if I will be producing enough electricity to cover my bills and I was assured I will. I also reached out to billing because I questioned the production and I was emailed back stating it would be "prudent"for me to wait for more bills before doing anything. Feb-May the production of the panels barely covered my bills. In between all this, I emailed Phil Walford in March about the production of my panels and expressed concern that I wasn't producing enough and asked what could be done since I was barely covering my bills. He never replied to my emails. Even Denita's immediate supervisor wasn't available. Denita sensed my frustration and told me that someone would call me back. Denita then calls me back a couple of minutes later to let me know that an email was sent from the department who design the systems stating I would need an additional 8 panels that would produce an additional 3,271 kWh bring me to a total of 14,442 kWh a year. The cost for these additional panels will be $7560.00. The initial purchase was $22,821.00 for 23 panels. On the first day of training, the trainer explained all the terms and conditions attached to such "bonus", which made it almost impossible to achieve. Then, an Arrogant Angry manager, wearing shorts, got up and gave a long rant about how our pay was not just that grand amount of the $500 a week, but also the tens of thousands of Dollars the company was spending on getting the leads for us! At the end of the day, the trainer assigned "homework" to be done in the evening. The "homework" took 5 hours to do on an uncooperative online app. Therefore, forcing us to devote 16 hours a day to the job and get paid for only 8 hours. They asked for my email and phone number. I reluctantly complied. Next, Momentum Solar is calling me to set up an appointment to provide me with an estimate because (of course!) my zip code doesn't qualify for "free" solar - no zip code in Florida does. I agreed to an appointment to get an extra proposal to compare to the proposals from other companies my husband and I interviewed. We could not get their salesman to provide us with any actual proposal! He kept talking about no money down, immediate monthly savings of $20 regardless of how much debt we would have to take on, etc. etc. etc. Once we told him we would not sign anything today no matter what, he started calling his manager - just like a used car salesman! After 2 hours of this we asked him to leave. He did not leave for another half an hour. Then he did leave but did not propose anything in writing. If you find yourself falling for the "immediate $20 a month savings" by signing to $47,000.00 loan, please think again! Me and My Wife just purchase our first home in 2019. In the middle of the year we got a seller come to our door and offer us solar. We let the seller in and we listen to his offers they had and how we are not going to have to pay electric again excluding a $10 dollar account fee and if we use more energy than usual no more than $30 dollar on higher energy usage to the electric company. We were impressed because not only we will help the inviroment it will help us save money on eclectic. Around the month of September we have hour solar turned on and we were happy we did something good. Next month came October and out electric bill still was high. We called momentum Solar and complaint that there was not enough energy produced and that we had to pay electric. They told us that we have to wait till we can get full capacity of the solar and they cloudy days we won't be producing energy something mentioned during the sale. November came and still we had to pay electric bill, I called them I told them I needed more panels because I haven't seen any changes at all on my bills. Their last response was I had to wait a year. A year has come and I call them telling them my problem. They made an an excuse that our bill is higher because of the coronavirus people staying home more often. My life hasn't really changed because I continue to work the same hours during the day. They also asked for my bills to calculate my usage and they said I was using 1,000 kwh I was like how me and my wife are never home. So he told me about a $500+ device that can count true home usage and I told the guy no. I rather turn off the solar system completely and see what is really my usage. Well I did and a month went by. Guess what my kwh are matching every month on the electric bill. My current bill with solar is 470 kwh and 471 without solar. I have proof now. I called them back told them my story again with proof and they denied my request to fix the problem if I want yes to fix it I will have to pay out of pocket. They are installing Solar system that will under produce to keep it at a low price so consumers get the solar system. The truth: I am paying $70 then on top $80 that's $150 for electric vs $90 without solar.
