part of the lovely interior: the lamps are for sale!

After the Royal Academy, I always bring friends here. This unknown gem is hidden behind the hustle & bustle of Piccadilly & is a slice of Morocco in London. The wonderful, real mint tea, which they top up over & over, you can sit with for a long time & chill. The mother ship is the restaurant next door, which is more expensive, but a dream to go to as well in the evening.

Tries this different kind of brunch - Moroccan brunch! Wouldnt recommend for those looking for a proper brunch experience, its much more of a Moroccan restaurant for lunch!! Food is good, yes definitly good, but not extraordinary nothing that blew my mind and i am a big fan of moroccan food. Honestly a little dissapointed considering i had very high expectations from Chef Momo, famous moroccan chef in france, even had a cooking class with him in Marrakesh. Very beautiful restaurant. Cannot deny that. We manage tk seat outside, they had the heaters on, little oasis of Morocco just off Regents street. Have had shisha once there before - as the decor is ideallic it does make for a great shisha place, but wasnt able to just order mint tea and shisha, had to get a glass of alcohol. Its fine if thats what you want to do but again i wish i could have just had mint tea.

Visited the cafe part of momo and I enjoyed the ambience and the drinks so much! The interior is like no other 'cafes' I've been to. Had the rose mint tea and it's like sweetened mint tea with some rose scent added to it. Very aromatic and warming. Also had their pudding-like dessert which was also quite good.

I have read on Yelp and Tripadvisor that the food was perfect and the service terrible... Well... I had the dinner tonight there and everything was perfect, also the staff. I am a native French speaker and the staff is 80% also French speaking. So easy :-) ... I took some small morrocan starters, followed by a lamb tagine, then morrocan pastries. All was marvelous! It's a bit pricy (around 70£ per person), but worth it. I recommend to book and go soon, because as late you go, as crowded and noisy the place is. Seb Delcampe www.delcampe.net

    Lovely outdoor patio.

I really (really!) wanted to love this place and give it 5 stars. The food was absolutely delicious - unique flavors, well executed - and the setting is beautiful. They really did think of everything - from the outside patio seating area to the restrooms. The place is gorgeous! Unfortunately, our late afternoon lunch was ruined by some of the worse (SLOW, inattentive, etc.) service I've had in a very long time. So disappointing too because it impacted our overall experience and over-shadowed their fantastic food. 5 stars for food (aubergine and briouats appetizers / chicken couscous and lamb meatball tangien entrees) and 1 star (really, 0 stars) for the service. Too bad!

The vibes inside from the furnishings to the menu were all post WW2 celebration themed and set the tone. We had a few rounds of drinks that were WW2 and train themed. The drinks involved various people from that timeframe. Several of the drinks were to be shared by 2 people and all were pretty pricey. I can drink pretty much anything so I ordered the drinks based on the unique containers they were served in. Our server said all the drinks on the menu were served with the apparatus they showed in the menu. When my companions tried ordering the shareable "Is it a pot of Mustard" drink they were told the bar didn't have that container. Hmmmm... Later I ordered the "Operation: Top Up" so I could get it served in the Jerry Can pictured in the menu and the drink just came in a boring glass. When I asked where the Jerry Can part of the drink was, she said unfortunately prior patrons had stolen them so they didn't have the Jerry Cans anymore. HELLO? That is the reason I ordered the drink! Didn't she just tell me the drinks came as pictured? Why didn't she inform me that it would be served without the prop? I certainly would have changed my order if she had done so. Other than several of the drinks not having props available, the drinks were pretty well done and hit the spot of the themed bar. With the bill being higher than expected, I would recommend coming here for only one drink and make sure you ask if your drink will have the prop as pictured in the menu.

We went in the opposite direction on Rupert Street and found this inviting courtyard bar. It's marketed as a gay bar but... The clientele was more mixed than gay. Hey, it wasn't a big deal to us. Especially as we sauntered to the bar bathed in pink and royal blue dayglow. Boys bellying up to the bar. Oh yeah, we home. The print was really small in their comprehensive cocktail menu, but that didn't stop us from ordering more libations. Stop judging us. Jamie went for the £12.50 Margarita, and I continued my Cosmopolitan streak with their £12 one (photo: https://yelp.to/RsyQWeRD5R). We went back into the courtyard to find a table. The leafy terrace and strings of white light were quite inviting, and we ended up hanging out in this sanctuary until they closed at 11PM. Cool.
