Lively and aromatic welcome to this restaurant! I stopped in for a snack and the plates were the perfect sharing size. The brunch and main menu featured so many fresh options. It seemed like a great place for eaters with dietary restrictions or those who like plant based ingredients. I tried the Shakshuka and the flavors/size were perfect. I then tried a lovely drink with eau de rose, honey, and dried orange. Very subtle but good. Service was attentive, not overbearing, and friendly.

    Dinosaur tea time!!

My coworker and I came for the Jurassic Afternoon tea, so much fun to have everything dinosaur themed! We both decided on the option to have our drinks served in the dinosaur egg. The scones were delish, the macaron was on point and it was larger than a normal macaron. The space is a bit small, we felt a little cramped and the table was a bit small for our two orders, this is why it gets four stars, but the food and beverages were wonderful!

Found this hidden gem while searching for a cool new restaurant. We are not staying at this hotel and took a chance. We were more than happy with absolutely everything. Staff went out of their way to accommodate and created cocktails that were just out of this world. Thank you George and thank you to our amazing waiter Luca, who helped us with everything and made fantastic recommendation. Restaurant was absolutely beautiful. Thank you all for the amazing evening

My family and I had Jurassic Afternoon Tea here after our visit to the Natural History Museum, and we thoroughly enjoyed the food, service, and ambience. Although it is a bit pricey compared to most afternoon tea options, it is so unique and creative that it's worth the splurge, especially if you have young children who are dinosaur-obsessed. The savory dishes and scones were all delicious, but the sweets are what set this afternoon tea apart from all others. They are all dinosaur-themed and a lot of fun.

We are staying as guests and the meals are simply delightful. They have a great wine selection for dinner and the staff is very friendly especially the manager, Abu, who loves giving us his recommendations. Come also for breakfast, the coconut porridge is delicious! And if you don't fancy porridge there is always the traditional proper English breakfast.

LOVED IT! I was walking by to actually go to a different restaurant and decided to pop in to look at the menu and I am SO GLAD I STAYED! The stone bass was cooked to perfection! And my gin drink was as fabulous. My father was a Chef and owned two restaurants so I am definitely a foodie: I would highly recommend!

I am staying at the Ampersand so visited this bar and restaurant by default...but it's just lovely! The staff is very kind and accommodating; I am a solo traveler and they made me feel right at home. The cocktails are a dream complete with edible flowers, and all at very reasonable prices by London standards. Even if you are not staying at Ampersand, this is a worthy stop if you're in South Ken

This is a very nice restaurant located in the basement of a posh hotel. We were promptly seated and our order taken as I already knew what I wanted. The full breakfast, earl grey, and orange juice. The breakfast was fabulous and the black and white pudding was some of the best I have ever tasted. Seriously delicious! The orange juice was fresh squeezed using valencias, my absolute favorite. I am also pleased to report that Niki enjoyed her omlette and coffee very much. When Im happy its one thing but when she is happy, life is grand. The service here was very good and I will be seeing them again.

    The delicious mackerel with radicchio

Smart. Apero is one smart cookie from the stylish decor, to the smooth waiters and the clever tie in of cocktails to the museums next door. But the food is the star. A great chef makes it look easy and that happens here. A saffron risotto - one of the great classics but so easy to get wrong - comes beautifully yellow and fluffily soft. The mackerel with radicchio is just the right mixture of sweet and salty, soft and crispy. An absolute standout. Duck with gnocchi and pumpkin wrapped in prosciutto is perfect for a winters day Definitely worth the visit and a mingle within the smart set of South Kensington.

The veggie sharing platter - the starter!

I went to Apero for a pre theatre dinner with a friend who is vegetarian. I booked it because of their extensive veggie options. The restaurant itself has a really nice atmosphere. Quite causal but luxurious at the same time. The food was fantastic, we shared the vegetarian sharing menu. The starter included - focaccia with ricotta, flat breads with multiple amazing dips, a cous cous salad and a dish of burrata with heirloom tomatoes & Avocados. We were pretty full after just this! The main was a cheesy and delicious melanzane alla parmigiana. At this point we realised we didn't have much time to get to the theatre so we asked if we could get everything else to go. Unfortunately that meant we didn't have the rest of our main - which was gnocchi. But tbh we were incredibly full! So the restaurant very kindly boxed up the cheese and desert courses, which we enjoyed the next day and they were amazing! The menu cost £28 each (£32.20 with service). Considering the amount and the quality of the food I think this is really good value - just make sure you have time to eat it all! I really can't find fault with this restaurant. It took a little while to get the bill but we really put them on the spot with needing to go and they went out of their way to help us out. I'll be going back soon!

I have mixed feelings about this place. It's in a nice part of a London within a nice hotel, but some of the staff could definitely read that book about not judging books based on covers. I met someone here for brunch and we'd had a reservation. I wasn't dressed in my best, and did look a bit scruffy but as soon as I arrived and enquired about brunch I was immediately shut down and told that they get very busy during brunch and that it would only be impossible to eat there without a reservation. I mentioned that I did have a reservation and I was led to a table. Note that the place wasn't even close to busy that whole 2 hours + we were there. Additionally they originally assumed I was on my own and there was a whole row of single seated tables facing the wall they could have offered that were un-used during the whole time. Staff are definitely a little judgemental. Food and service wise, it's alright. Food is nothing special and a little pricey for what you get, but good portions and no complaints about the quality. Some staff were great, others forgot requests such as requesting the bill or water. The dessert was the highlight for me. The lemon curd looked as good as it tasted. Upon leaving I had left my umbrella under the table. It had been raining that morning and I never usually leave umbrellas in the umbrella bin as I've lost a few that way. I left and headed to the nearby station when I realised I'd forgotten the umbrella. I ran back to the restaurant not 5 minutes after leaving and there was no sign of said umbrella and nobody had a clue where it had gone. I checked with the person I had visited with and they had their own umbrella so couldn't have taken mine. Spooky indeed.

We visited for a pre-"Hamilton" (the musical playing around the corner at the Victoria Theatre)…read moredinner after searching on Yelp for some well-rated restaurants in the area. My son made a reservation and must have been asked about his birthday, because after being seated by the friendly maitre d' (I think his name was Alex), the maitre d' returned to the table to note that he had been informed that it was someone's birthday. We confirmed that it was my son's birthday the following day, at which point the maitre d' left and came back a few minutes later with a card for my son. The card wished my son Happy Birthday from the various wait staff and said we were being given a 20% discount off our meal (typically, the gift is 20% off your next meal, but the matter d' recognized we were from the US and were unlikely to be making regular visits to the restaurant). After this wonderful greeting, we ordered food from the pre-theatre menu, and we loved all of the food except the tempura broccoli, which was very heavy and too salty for my taste. My son and I especially liked the Longhorn sirloin steak with an egg on top, and my wife was happy with her king prawn salad. My only disappointment was that we ate too much that day and, therefore, we decided to forego dessert, which meant no sticky toffee doughnut. Overall, an excellent meal!

Skewers were tasty as well. We got artichoke dip to start and it was really great, has a hint of lime. The only food that wasn't exactly what we expected was the mac&cheese, it could use a bit more cheesy cheese. Overall super cute ambiance, great food & kind people! Would come again!!
