Also, at a time when the store was full of of hobby items. So why five stars? I'm not sure about anyone else but for me service is key. This is one of those places where even though he wasn't going to make a sale he treated me like I was purchasing a million dollars with of gear. So at the end of the conversation i asked if I could come back and hang out and he said I could. So on my way out of the door I was informed that he could order anything I want and he will work with me on pricing. Really I'm buying local just for the customer service.

We didn't have much time, so we breezed through. Mostly because I underestimated how large the shop really is! There's truly something for everyone here. This shop is a mix of antiques, gifts, and Christmas items. Collectibles, beautiful items to admire, greeting cards, and lots of ornaments and decorations. I can't wait to bring husband back to actually spend some time and money! The best part of Hixsons really is the story behind the founder and the new owners. We chatted with Matthias' girlfriend who was so welcoming and friendly. She told us about the history and the vision they have for continuing Bill's legacy and we were so touched.
