Mom's Taxi said they would pick us up in 15 minutes, and they were there in 15 minutes. The guy who drove us to Bartenders Bash was very friendly and gave us recommendations of what were cool and interesting bars/restaurants around the area. I just don't know how I felt about the meter staring at $7. We ended up paying 30 bucks (plus five more for tip) for a 10 minute ride. read more

It is a bad habit of some taxi patrons to call up more than one Cab Company, jump into the first cab that shows up, and leave two other cab companies hanging. But such things do not seem to have tainted Mom's Taxi. It's still a good idea to make sure your phone's not on silent in case someone calls to give you an updated ETA. read more

I LOVE Mom's Taxi, it is the most affordable and stylish (if you are in the Cadi Limo that is) and stimulating way to safely roam the island if you have been drinking and want to change up venues and/or make it home. 24 hours of service is a huge bonus, but I am mostly reviewing to give a shout out! These five stars are specifically due to an exquisite man who goes by Stretch; who hides behind a seemingly introverted personality, but is truly one of the most intelligent people I have had the pleasure of meeting. Per our discussion that I opened up (I'm a chatter), he never once forced his opinion or had the intention of explaining his perspective so as to have you join his "side" of a topic, all of which were my choice to cover. He has quite clearly done his research, has had a documentary-worthy life, and was just as gentle as he was passionate. I was enthralled by his prowess, his ability to educate in a captivating way as I was admittedly buzzed, and can honestly state this was the first time I was sad to leave a public transit ride for my destination. read more

Requested Mom's taxi a half hour in advance. Said they'd be there. Waited almost half hour at location, called Mom's to see if they were coming. Dispatcher said the current customer went 20 miles further then their initial destination. It happens. But why no courtesy call to say they'd be late? And they couldn't give definite time when they'd be there. Maybe twenty minutes (if we're lucky). Poor service. Thank god we weren't going to a wedding and it wasn't raining. Called Keys Express Cab (305-923-1739). Arrived in 10 minutes. Keys Cab was clean, professional and courteous. That's how it should be. It's a service, not a lottery!! read more

Clean cars, timely pickup when called, and pleasant drivers who obey the law and politely deal with your drunkenness. The meter starts at $7 as soon as you get in. Say you want the local's rate and you get $1 chopped off. read more

This is hardly a taxi service. My driver was 15 minutes late and the car was falling apart. The inside smelled like pure gasoline and It sounded like the car would fall apart in pieces any minute. They are cheaper than Uber right now because there aren't many Uber drivers in key largo yet. They get you from point a to point B however you have to ride in a horrible smelling vehicle that looks and sounds like it will blow. The driver was nice and didn't say a word which was appreciated. I do not recommend this company at all. If you have no choice then It is what it is and you must use them but Uber is worth a few bucks more. read more

During the call to dispatch I asked for a pickup, gave the actual address of my destination, and said I wanted to go down to it, and come right back to key largo. I then gave the business name and another landmark. Well, how did this trip turn out? The jerkoff of a driver goes past the destination and gives me attitude for not paying attention, then gives me the total for a one way trip, charging me extra for the distance we covered due to his mistake. That isn't even the end however. He then acts surprised when I tell him I wanted to go back to key largo, and complains that I need to let them k ow if it is a round trip. To which I replied that I told dispatch so on the phone, to which he replies by telling me that he is dispatch and I did not say such. No "hmm, maybe I misheard" just straight to calling the client a liar. Needless to say I will be using Uber or some other taxi service, even if it is more expensive. read more

Our driver was late, used his cell phone while driving, drove very aggressively, and complained about having to drive us. The vehicle was a beat up old mini van with zero suspension or brakes, smelt of cigarettes, the head liner was held on by thumb tacks and the doors didn't work properly. Would not recommend. Scariest driving I ever witnessed in my life. I wish police were around to have witnessed the aggressive driving by this taxi driver. Friendly service and safe drivers but they raise their prices for tourists which can be a bummer when you do not have a car and have to rely on a taxi to get around. Keys express cab is the only other competion that we could find and they do not raise their prices. I wanted to give them more stars but dishonesty and price raising does not earn 5 stars. read more

AS A MOM I WOULD NEVER DRIVE THIS WAY Shortly after it started raining on the night of Saturday, November 22, I found myself behind a Mom's Taxi going South on US 1. It stopped short in front of us to make a U turn causing me to slam on my brakes and swerve into oncoming traffic. As a result our air bags went off. Not only that, the car behind us swerved into the oncoming lane to avoid hitting us in the back. All the while Mom's Taxi speed off North with not a care in the world. We filed a report with the police department and plan to follow up on it. As locals we feel a responsibility to this community to keep our streets safe and bring awareness to such disrespect for human life. read more

Get a price first. $25 for 6 miles. Car was filthy and falling apart driver looked worse than the car. This is why everyplace needs Uber!

We really appreciate Kevin's (the taxi driver) recommendations, and if it weren't for him we would have arrived at a closed restaurant and wouldn't have tried two really good restaurants (Lazy Days and Green Turtle). We didn't worry about the fare (maybe around ten dollars for a three-mile ride, can't remember cuz we were drunk), because we figured it was a lot less expensive than a DUI. read more

Absolutely TERRIBLE. Do not call them between 3:40 and 4:15! Apparently that's "shift change" I called an HOUR in advance of the time I needed to be to work and they still made me late. Took them over an hour to get to me when they told me "15 minutes" fucking RIDICULOUS. I had to call back TWICE and each time got soemone different that would say "15 minutes". I'd give them less than one star if it was an option. First time we tried to use them, they handn't shown up within a half hour & we finally got a ride with a local resident. The second time we "tried" to use them they were outright dishonest! They said they would arrive in "at least 20 minutes". After 40 minutes we tried to call back for a status & could never get through to them again--caller block?? We actually saw one of their taxies (maybe the ONLY one?) pass us twice!! Crappy vans. Smelly drivers. These taxi cabs are not easy to access and makes it hard to be able to go out without having to drive. They are overwhelmed and should really use this as an opportunity to improve. Better vans, more drivers, better technology would help keep them around. Uber is needed in the Keys. read more

We started out ok. Driver took us to post office and Publix. When we called for pick up, the dispatcher said 15 minutes. We called after an hour and now the voice of the dispatcher was barely audible or intelligible. Finally after an hour and 15 minutes, a driver came. By now our frozen food had thawed quite a bit! It seems the dispatcher never called for a driver when he said 15 minutes for our pick up! What a mess! The return driver was going to charge a dollar more for the same distance! He changed his mind, realizing they were late. Not an experience I would want to repeat! read more

My friends and I used this taxi company over the weekend. We were in Taverniere for a weekend wedding. Initially we were picked up from our hotel and dropped off at a bar in Islamorada, not very far. The driver charged $25 for the trip, which did not seem right at all. We are practically local, in the keys often and have used this company many times. We were picked up from our hotel in suits and formal dresses. I'm thinking they thought that we were tourists and could take advantage because of the way we were dressed. For the ride home from the bar, for the same exact distance, another company charged us $12! It's just sad that the guy was such a crappy person. We have used this company many times before and I will make sure to never use them again. read more

me and my wife used this taxi service two times, {once should have been enough} they where over 45 minutes late the 1st time the cab was not very clean and smelled from smoke from a cigar. we stayed at the hilton hotel in key largo this taxi service charged us $28 to go to the big chill restaurant which was only a few miles away. we had to use them on the return trip, which was also the same price. $28.00 hard to get a taxi on sat night in the keys the driver told us that this company only has 3 cars and one was broken down. $56 dollars round trip the meal at the restaurant was a little less then that. better u ask the price before u get into any of mons cabs. read more

The two gentlemen who work night shift are courteous and kind and accomadating. But lord help you if you nees a cab before 5. The man who works in the morning is rude, unpleasant and often just passes off customers to the next shift. I wouldn't give him a penny of my money. But nightshift I would tip well. read more
