Mon Ami Arborist Services is a very professional company. We needed laurels pruned around the perimeter of our property. It hadn't been done in a couple of years so it was a major undertaking. Add to that the fact that our yard is not easily accessible, which means that this job was going to take perseverance and a positive attitude. From the first visit for a quote to the two days that they worked, all members of the crew were pleasant and understanding. The lead arborist graciously offered suggestions on some of my other trees. They were able to complete the pruning all of the laurels, bring down the height of some cedars, and chip all of the trimmings on site so I can use them for compost. My trees were in rough shape with poor pruning, bad weather, and kids climbing. I know I could have hired a landscaper to trim my trees but my trees needed some professional help. I had branches going in all directions and the trees just looked sad. I found Camille on Yelp and decided to take a chance based on his website and social media page. Camille was quick to respond and came out the next day to provide me with an estimate. He was VERY knowledgeable and talked me out of cutting down a delicate tree. Do not hesitate. Great service. I hired Camille to prune an old magnolia tree. I had a go at it and there was a lot of new growth. I knew it didn't like to be pruned but needed to shorten some branches. Camille reduced the span and cleaned up the sprouts. He has a very caring gentle approach to tree care and warned me against over-pruning. I learned that I can let the trees heal themselves first. I also purchased a one-hour pruning lesson. Every year I look up the tips on pruning the trees and shrubs in my yard, yet have no confidence when I face them. Camille showed me where and how to prune, what to look for, explained how the trees heal and why some cuts are bad. He then guided me through every cut on a young Italian Prune. I feel much better about making the cuts. My trees will be glad I took a lesson. I went back and corrected a lot of my earlier cuts. Camille is professional, responded to my text quickly, scheduled a visit, and gave me a quote in writing by email the same day. He gave me several quotes for different services I was interested in. We had Camille out to give us an estimate of each thing we wanted done. He came out quickly, gave us our estimate and said that we could decide what we wanted him to do. We decided to have him do everything on the list which included buying three new plants for our yard. He is wonderful. He went to the nursery, called me from there and then sent me pictures of what he thought we should put in the spaces where he was going to replace plants, bought what we wanted and then came out to finish the job. He was here all day pruning and planting and we cannot recommend him highly enough. This man knows what he is doing. There are very few true trained arborists and Camille is in that category. He also has a chipper so he cleans up all he has cut off your trees, puts it into his chipper and then spreads it around the bottom of the tree as mulch/fertilizer. He can do big and small projects and if you are looking for a true professional to work with, Camille is your man. He is meticulous and really cares about your plants.
