The staff was about to leave when I walked in for a holiday break over the summer, but Ms. Donna welcomed me in to show me around. I was impressed with how clean each of the rooms were. They have hard wood floors throughout with the occasional area rug for children to sit and play or read. Each child has their own hook for their coats and backpacks. The infant room as a dedicated location for each child's belongings (Diapers, cups, snack, pacifiers, etc.) They have an outside location for the children to play during the warm weather. In the summer they do water play. Once a week the music teacher comes in and the kids have a blast. Tiny Tiki is a fun place to be. After a short discussion with my husband we decided to bring our daughter here. Day one was rough for me to leave my daughter at 3 months old, but Ms. Donna was quick to send me pictures of how happy she was throughout the day. Over a year later I can honestly say choosing Tiny Tiki was the best decision. My daughter is so happy to go to day care each day. She knows all the teachers and can say their names at almost 2 yrs old. They all care for each of the children as their own. There are even times when she cries because she doesn't want to leave. I never worry about her being there all day while my husband and I are at work. Keep up the great work! Thumbs up to Ms. Donna for running such a great school.

There was a simple miscommunication when it came to his diapers (super minor) and the teacher rectified it right away and contacted me to clarify/discuss. The teacher and/or school are always reaching out, even for something simple, to keep me and my husband apprised and informed. We appreciate this so much and truly find it to be a reflection of those they hire to nurture and educate the children. We find their COVID protocols very well followed, and we're not nervous sending our son here a few days a week. The staff, teachers and administration always greet us at pick up/drop off and make us feel like our sons going to a special place and loved. In reference to the other comment on curriculum, they're under 2 years. They are just getting acclimated to going to school, let alone the ability to do a true art masterpiece. I think that's a bit unrealistic when it comes to an expectation of artistic ability at that age. Our son has come home with some really great art projects and we're really happy with his progress being he's not even 18 months old. He's learning so much already and we're grateful. From the incredible teacher to student ratio, personal education plan for each child, and all students in the elementary school even learn a real instrument (mine is learning guitar) ... the list goes on and on. I personally feel that these children have had the most "normal" school experience possible during the past two years giving them support and consistency that children need. Let me start off by saying that my son started in a different preschool nearby and we had a pretty…read morenegative experience (a review to come). He had never stayed with anyone but family before this, so I was pretty anxious about leaving him. When I found Matawan Montessori through an internet search for local Montessori preschools, I was excited because it was so close to our home. I immediately made an appointment to meet the director and bring my son in for a visit. Mr. Chris, the director, was delightful. He showed a true interest in my son and encouraged me to bring him in for a half-day session to see how he liked it. We did and the rest is history! He LOVED IT! I immediately felt very comfortable with the staff and environment there. Montessori was the perfect place for my little guy, who was just two and a half at the time, but started in the 3-6 year group because they saw that his interest and attention span were a bit above his age. He will be going into his sixth month at the school and I can't say enough about the staff. His head teacher, Mrs. Marina is fabulous and brings with her a lot of Montessori experience. Her assistants, Kelly and Sheeta show so much caring and compassion, and my son just loves them. He hugs them goodbye each day. Staff meets you at your car and escorts your child into the school. When you pick up, it's the same. They have a day each week where they spend some time focusing on music and one day for gym where the kids learn about fitness and eating well. They also teach Chinese and Spanish in the classroom one day a week. My son has really blossomed in this school. The Montessori method is a fabulous way to allow a child to develop their independence along with a sense of discipline and purpose. It allows them to learn at their own pace, regardless of age, and having the older children in the classroom with the younger gives the little ones role models. This lets the older children feel a sense of pride in helping their younger coeds. Matawan Montessori comes through with flying colors. I would recommend this school to anyone!
